Used 2000 Toyota RAV4 Consumer Reviews
My Toy
I switched from Nissan Pathfinder to Rav4. Rav4 is much smaller compare to Pathfinder, but have a good spirit of "SUV" and better mpg. It may not be suitable for everyone, but well accomodete me (5'6") and 2 grade schoolers. Having better view compare to sedan, and small enough to fit to "compact car only" parking lot.
Love My Rav4!
Bought used with 75K miles, now at 87K. No problems. Solid, dependable, reliable, fun to drive. Looks, drives and sounds like it's still brand new. Interior looks like new. No squeaks or rattles. Easy to park. Has lively acceleration, still gets 30 mpg on hwy, 24-25 around town. Considered AWD but went with FWD and automatic and this car is GREAT on snow (Firestone tires). Love it so much, we bought another!

2000 RAV4 Needed Some Tweaking
Overall, this is a very good suv. But, when I bought it brand new, the driver's side mirror was distorted and had to be replaced. The gas gauge never accurately revealed the full capacity or empty capacity, even after warranty repair. The cruise control shows problems of racing rpms and engages in a jerking acceleration without warning. And as others mention, it lacks good starting acceleration. And, I couldn't believe that I had to replace the emblems for rusting
Outstanding Vehicle
We have had our Rav4 for over 3 years. Never needed any service, besides regular maintenance. It would have been nice if Toyota put an extra 1 to 2 feet in length as the back seat hardly has any legroom. We drove across country to San Diego, was there for 6 months and drove back and it performed perfect. If you don't need a lot of room, buy this vehicle. Reliability - Committment to excellence 2023 Our family still owns our Rav 4. In 2013 moved overseas for work and the Rav 4 has 211,000 miles .replaced tires and battery, replaced the front end ball joints, harmonic balancer, radiator and crankshaft seal. Regular oil change 3,000 to 5,000 miles. This year time for a paint job. The clear coat on the hood and roof has almost disappeared. Still till this day a reliable vehicle. All electronics work and engine is still smooth. The best vehicle I have ever owned!
