Used 2002 Toyota Prius Sedan Consumer Reviews
A Wonderful Car
The only negative about this car is: the back seats don't fold down. This car is one of the best purchases I have ever made. High mileage, clean, quiet, technologically sophisticated, comfortable throughout: a well- integrated whole. I wouldn't take it to the drag strip, but acceleration (due to the CVT) is smooth, consistent and perfectly adequate for any driving I need to do. My operating costs have dropped by 30% from those of my 1987 Saturn SL2 (imagine the difference if you have an SUV now!). I recommend it highly.
2002 Toyota Prius
The 2002 Toyota Prius is without a doubt the best car I have owned in terms of quality and reliablity. In the 18 months I have owned the car I have not had even one problem; only returning to the dealer for oil changes and scheduled maintenance. The car is very quite and comfortable even for long trips (Austin to Los Angeles, Austin to Mexico City for example).

Your Basic Car using less mideast oil
The car has performed nearly flawlessly for me in the 14 months that I have owned it. Overall the design is very user friendly and the features work well. The car has comfortable seats and very good visibility. The engine is peppy enough to merge in heavy and fast moving traffic. I test drove the honda insight and was horrified by it's performance. These was nothing when I hit the gas pedal. The Prius passes without a problem. The back seat is a bit squished. I highly recommend giving this car a chance. I live in Minnesota and the cold weather (today -10 F as I drove to work) has not been an issue for the car.
Still feels unique
I love this car, the smooth ride, shut down at stop lights, quiet but quick acceleration. I average 40 mpg. Toyota should say mileage will improve as car breaks in. In tough weather, mileage drops slightly in relation to use of defrost/air co. and unlike other hybrids does not shut off at stop lights! I came up a very ]steep hill w 6" snow and moving slowly I rode to the top without a problem. Narrow tires are stable in snow, not in mud. Would I buy it again? Definitely.
Efficient, hi-tech, comfortable
Very fun to drive, and never fails to interest passengers. Zero problems after one year. Handles very well in snow. Wasn't expecting such a huge improvement over previous vehicle (1992 Saturn SL1), but got it in all areas. Feels solid and safe.
