Prius v4
I bought the wagon because I wanted the mpg and cargo space I was used to. My previous car was a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that I bought new in 01. I love driving this car, all the visual guides on the driving performance are pretty cool.
Prius is worthy !!!!!
My second Prius......very happy w/car...I knew it didn't have blinding acceleration before I bought it....lots of leg room. Would highly recommend window tint and getting a windshield eyebrow tint installed...sun beats in at eye level....just the right size for around town driving...no problem on freeway going 75-80

Love my car
Very comfortable and handles in the snow better then any car I've ever drove. Although some people snub the "slow" Prius if they did some reading they'd understand the quality and efficiency of the leading hybrid on the market today. And the reliability is priceless. ALSO TO THE PERSON WITH THE BACK UP BEEP COMPLAINT THIS CAN BE TURNED OFF AND WILL ONLY BEEP ONCE WHEN PUT INTO REVERSE. There are two ways to do this tell the mechanic (at Toyota) you want this done and if they say they can't they are either lying or just don't know. The other way is a series of actions you must do in an exact order which will turn the setting to one beep this can be found with a simple google search.

Prius V touch screen display
This touch screen display in my Prius-V sucks. Not only does it work, which inhibits me from using navigation, but the repair time is estimated at least 3 months. Toyota does not have the replacement part and is overwhelmed by so many defects. The display controls navigation, daio and phone connection and nothing works. It is a good driving car and all others aspects are fine unless you run into repair trouble.. But just for the display I would not recommend this Prius-V

The good, bad and so so
This is my second Prius so I am experienced with hybrids. We also got better than advertised mileage in the 2009 model I got the model 5 because it has great looking 17" wheels which give me a more comfortable ride than my 2009. The visibility front and back is great and the lane warning and color backup camera is a must. This car has decent handling and the power seat for the driver makes it easy to accommodate my large frame and my wife's shortness. The "bad" is the gas mileage which should be 40-44MPG, but to date we have never done better than 34! The engine is somewhat under powered, The premium sound system is far from great even on strong FM stations. The backup beeper is very loud. And the moon roof which came with the premium sound system and safety features is useless. I wish Toyota would allow for customers to choose the features that they actually want instead of packaging unrelated items and then charging more. I'm most upset about the misleading mileage figures though. This car could become a great car with a little more effort by the company. So although I like this car and it is a pleasure to drive and I feel safe in it, I can only give it a 3 star primarily because of the mileage. UPDATE 5/17/16: The gas mileage still is disappointing. The engine going up a steep grades is very noisy and seems to be under a strain. UPDATE 11-18-2017: At 10,000 miles we are still under 35mpg 33% of the time and we average 35.8 mpg. How did Toyota ever get the EPA to give them a rating of 40-44mpg with a combined mileage of 42mpg? Did they learn something from VW? The dealer had the factory Technician check out the car and reported that the car is functioning per factory specs. Update 05-20-2019: At 16,600 miles we still get poor mileage, the car strains going uphill for long grades and the sound system sucks. Other than that it is a great car! But I won't buy another! Update 11-21-2019. Slightly better mpg but still below rating. Starting to feel more bumps now even with new tires. I'll probably keep these car for a couple more years. Update 11-22-2022. I still have lower than advertised gas mileage, but slightly better than earlier. We only do 3-4,000 miles on it per year. Other than my previous complaint this car has been reliable, I'm waiting for an EV that allows tax rebates and has a lot of safety features and is affordable Update11-23-2023:With 30,000 miles on this car, we get better mileage average 38 mpg and except for the crappy radio , we are pleased and will keep this economical car longer. Update 05-27-2024. Still going and gets same mileage per gal. Update 11-28-2024: Everything is about the same. A little rougher ride and the radio is really horrible, but it gets us around town economically.
