Used 2011 Toyota Matrix Consumer Reviews
"YOTA" BABY
I love my "Yota". She handles like a dream, cheap to fix, goes everywhere, great on gas and I can haul a lot or a little. I love feeling Sporty but casual at the same time. I live a mile off the main road and actually 1/2 a mile on a snowmobile trail or Class 4 road and my girl gets me up and down in all types of weather. Here in Vermont we have 5 seasons Winter, Spring, Mud, Summer, and Fall and she makes it every time. This is my first time owning a Toyota and I LOVE IT!! Thank you so much for creating the best little car ever.

Sadly disappointed with 2010 Matrix S AWD
Pros: Cute, fun to drive, cool interior controls. Rear bumper can take an impact without breaking. Cons: Terrible. 14 city/ 23 hwy. I've been told to wait until I hit 20,000 miles for it to break in by the toyota dealership. Not okay with me. The car rattles like crazy the second I go above 55mph. The radio volume is no longer speed sensitive. It stopped after about 6 months. Isn't starting properly - I have to hold key for about 5 seconds before it kicks on, otherwise it dies. Just started yesterday. Cloth seats got stained the first day because a bottle of water spilled... no joke. The seats absorb everything. Back seatbelts are made for children. No adult is comfortable.

Generally a nice car
A pretty nice little car. Mileage ~31 mpg on the hwy, dropping to 24 when used for short commutes in the winter. Surprisingly roomy front and back - best feature is upright seating. Compared to our '03 civic, this has a smoother ride, poorer fuel economy, more comfortable seats, cludgier HVAC controls, more rattles, but does far far better in snow and ice. Visibility out is OK for me (5-11) and marginal for my wife (5-5): large A pillars and drivers side-view mirror are the main problems for her. Engine a little buzzy above 3000 rpm but fine at cruise and gentle driving. Stereo OK but a bit boomy.
Great little SUV
I've been driving a Infiniti QX4 for the last 8 yrs or so and has been a good SUV. Due to the outrages gas prices here in Canada I'm forced to scale back. I got the 2010 Matrix with the 1.8 liter and sport package and went for the optional hood defector and side moldings for those pesky door dents I hate. Gas mileage is awesome the first tank I put threw it I got 37 mpg or 7 liters per 100 km, blows the stats right out of the water. I suspect it to only get better as things loosen up more, and I'm able to use synthetic oil after the break in. Everything has been so far so good, but I haven't had it that long yet.
Honda lost me
Been driving a civic hybrid for five years. My local Honda dealer's service was great. Went back. Drove the CR-V and crz. Didn't like either one. Decided to go look at the toyz. Found just the right compromise with for and the boss (wife) in the matrix. I got my SUV. She got her sports car. It's early but we both love it. If you're looking for a great priced mid-sized SUV you gotta check the matrix out.
