I purchased my 2000 LC in 2003. Since then with regular maintenance I have had absolutely no problems. I put in a new muffler and exhaust manifold, but otherwise still going strong. I put in a navigation and backup camera, and it acts like a 2006-2007 ride.

Just rolled over 411,750 miles. Year 2000 TLC.

Original running gear very strong 4.7L V-8. Normal periodic maint. includes plugs, shocks, TB/WP three times, 4X4 bearing packs, front stabilizer bars, Toyota 84 month battery, fuel injectors, valve cover gaskets, fuel injector kit, radiator T-hose (that was fun), power steering pressure hose, number 8 coil, brake pads and calipers, muffler, engine cam seals...I may be missing a few things. Major costs just two: brakes master cylinder module (OEM $1600) and steering rack assembly ($1200). You take care of it, it takes care of you. Daily driver...go out to a movie on Tuesday, go serious 4-wheeling on Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat. You get the idea, yes?

Amazing vehicle!

My rig has over 340k miles on it. The only things that have given out were the little light indicating I'm in drive, the cable to raise the antenna, starter, rear door struts and alternator. All these were not a problem until after 250k miles. It's still going strong! Only issue is bad fuel economy. This vehicle in diesel would be perfect. The rock crawling capabilities for a luxury SUV are unbelievable and my wife loves the luxury part. It laughs at snow and ice with the right tires. I have packed 8 into it and, although a tight squeeze, everyone was comfy enough for a short off-road excursion. I also love its looks, more than the current version, so that's a plus (except for the fact I don't want a new model because of the looks). One problem for the first half of 2000 was a stupid design in the motor (that they fixed for the second half) that makes repairs more difficult and costly. I can't remember if it was for the alternator or starter. But what a rig!

This car will never stop

We've owned this car for over 8 years, it has never let us down. 151k miles and my guess is it could go twice that and still drive like the day we brought it home. My wife's only complaint is she wishes the steering wheel was adjustable. Put the original equipment Michelin tires on it... they will go 60k+ miles.
