Used 2004 Toyota Highlander Consumer Reviews
2004 Highlander
I've owned Porsches, Alfas, and about 35 American vehicles. The Highlander with stability control is the best overall vehicle I have owned and driven. A quality vehicle from the paint job to the excellent performing V-6 and automatic transmission.

The best car I have owned!
I've had this car for about 18 months and I can honestly say that it is the best car I have owned. It drives like no other SUV, midsize or larger size, that I test drove, and I test drove many. It handles beautifully on the highway and on local streets. The interior features are wonderful and not too big and bulky which I like. It is very easy for a small woman to drive and park! Overall I think it is a great SUV for someone who wants the luxury of a car but also wants to be able to get around any weather condition. BTW, it is made entirely in Japan! I love it, and will buy another in 16 years when the pain job gets bad or I have 250,000 miles!
Recommend the Highlander
Very comfortable, drives like a car. All instruments/controls easy to read and find. Third row seat is easy to open and close. Alot of cargo room without third row seat up. Plenty of power (have not towed with it yet) and smooth shifting 5 speed automatic. Build quality on this one is great.
It's okay
It's been an ok ride. Vehicle looks good but I have been very disappointed in the gas mileage. I'm not even getting 20 on the highway. It gets hard to drive on a long trip (which I do a lot of) uncomfortable seats (you'll feel everything and the passenger seat does not adjust, just goes back). I get knocked around by passing trucks because it's so light. You really have to hold on tight on the highway and that makes for a weary ride! The wind noise is also more evident on the highway as well. The transmission is sluggish and seems to hesitate now at 30,000 miles.
