Used 2001 Toyota ECHO Sedan Consumer Reviews
GREAT little car
I have owned this car for over 2 years and have had no trouble whatsoever. I think the write up by Edmunds is completely off track, and I think this is the best car money can buy. It has a spacious trunk, plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 kids. It has plenty of pep but still gets 40 mpg. No cruise control on mine was a mistake, and power windows would be nice.
2001 Toyota Echo
From the first day I got this car, I am satisfied. It is a perfect car for students because it is excellent on gas and very reliable. Though I do recommend the automatic for first time drivers. Throughly, it's a car you get addicted to.

I Love my ECHO
I was drawn to the ECHO because of it's reputed gas mileage and I have not been disappointed. I average 38 miles to the gallon in town, and over 40 on the highways/freeways. I love the instrument panel and was surprised at first at how roomy the car was. When I moved last year I got all of my belongings minus my furniture in the car! My boyfriend, who has a penchant for cars, looked disappointed when I drove home in it the first time - but digs it now for it's handling and wants to get it out on the racetrack!
love it
exactly the right design and function for a small town car. Not designed, nor particularly road-comfortable for long trips = over 200 miles.
Why did they stop making this?
This has been the best car I owned. I have 160,000 miles and have NEVER had a single problem. I did not need brakes until 135,000. There is no rust anywhere, and I'd drive it anywhere! This car has better leg and head room than most any other car I've sat in. Fun to drive and great mileage (>40 hwy). Great stereo too! Why did they stop making this?
