Used 2010 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
Gas milege is so disappointing
I just bought a 2010 Corolla to replace my 1996 Corolla which had served me loyally over 10+ years. However I found with the 2010 corolla, I only got a 30mpg on high way (I commute 80 miles a day), while my old corolla made at least 33 mpg. How disappointed I am! Also there is a bit noise from engine. I am not sure if that will turn to a bigger problem in a year or two. My old corolla was very quite when I bought it.
Decent Car
Overall it is not a bad car to drive. The transmission is really smooth and the car provides enough power for most drivers in this segment. Steering is electric and feels every bit of it; that is okay for some but not others. This is my first Toyota and I have to say I'm left underwhelmed. It's bland which is Toyota, but my car has not been "reliable". The interior dash rattles due to hard plastics it seems, had to take it in for the recall, fix a loose bracket on the muffler, and replace the front struts - all with under 8000KMS on it, and the bumper half came off when it brushed up against a curb. I don't suggest not buying it, but Toyota's quality might be slipping with this one.
Fun to drive
I traded in my 99 Nissan Altima SE L and I am very impressed with this car. I compared the Mazda 3, Kia Forte, Hyundai Elantra and even another Altima and the Corolla S won. I got a super deal, much less than the TMV price. I like the interior, which is spacious and well thought out. It rides much nicer than the Altima. The S presents itself quite well and you can't beat the MPG. Add the discounted Extra Value Package and you have a great upgrade. I didn't need anything else. This car is fun to drive, city or highway and you don't feel guilty because the gas mileage is so good. Go ahead and buy this car. You get much more for your money.
2010 Corolla, king of compact
I have owned my 2010 corolla for almost a half a year now. I am extremely happy with it. The performance is more from what you would expect, its quiet, and comfortable. I'm glad i spent the extra money in buying my corolla. Its fun to drive too. But it is a compact car. For 2 people, it has a lot of room, (I'm 6'2'') But when you have 5 people in the car, you should keep you point a to point b trip under an hour. The mileage is great, a hair lower than i expected, but the power is great. Great buy.
Great but...
I have owned this car for almost a month. The gas mileage is great, the ride and feel would be great except for a not too subtle high pitch humming noise coming from the transmission. It seems to appear only when the engine engages, as soon as you release the gas pedal the noise is gone. I will be taking it to the dealership to see what they can do. Will update at that point.
