Used 2010 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
Overall Garbage
Got this as a hand me down three weeks ago with 32,000 miles. Ride is terrible. I feel every pebble in the road. Traction control stunts hard/quick acceleration at all speeds. Steering wonders at high speed. Cheap interior quality, the plastics rattle. Wind noise is bad. Cheap feel overall. Dealer has to do certain customizable feature for you. My 2005 Civic with 183,000 miles was better in every way. Including MPG. (Note: I never changed the shocks and only did routine maintenance on it) And this car does not have as much room as the Civic. Civic all the way.
Overall a nice car
I was all set to buy a Corolla and then read the reviews of the "steering problem" and almost changed my mind. I test drove three more Corollas at different dealers paying close attention to the vagueness that others mentioned and just didn't understand their point as I think of the steering as "effortless" and "smooth". I guess I'm just a guy who wants a reliable, fuel efficient car and is not interested in performance issues like "feeling connected" to the road. All in all I'm pleased with the car. The driver's comfort is a great improvement over my wife's '08 Corolla with the addition of the telescoping feature. The suspension is also much smoother.
Nice Car, Great Price
Just went and picked out my car today after searching and getting the price right. I love my Corolla. I got the Corolla S model for 16400. with 3 years of oil changes included Great Price considering the window sticker was 20900. I have test drove everything that is comparable and hands down the Corolla sport is well worth the money.
Beats the 2009 model!
I avoided the 2009 model partly because the clock was embedded in the multifunction display. That is now fixed! Even if it is a bit low. Otherwise, the car is comfortable and responsive. Interior is a little plasticky, though laid out well. Unlike others, I like the steering feel. Had a lot of rain this week, handling was fine and the wipers and defrosters worked fine. Before buying, I had rented the 2009 and the 2010, also test drove Fit and Civic and looked at Elantra. This was the best overall, partly thanks to price which included VSC.
Going from a Truck to a Sedan
I was looking for a car with good gas mileage and reliability. I drove a 1997 Ford F-150 for several years, and the gas and maintenance was putting a dent in my checkbook. I researched and test drove 3 cars: Honda Fit, Hyundai Elantra, and the Toyota Corolla. All fit into my price range of 15000-19000. It was close between the Hyundai and Toyota, but I chose the Corolla. It came down to reliability and dependability. Plus, they're both priced about the same. I've had my Corolla LE (keyless entry and cruise control) for about a week. This was my first time purchasing a car and I order through Carsdirect.com because I didn't want to deal with hassling. I got a good deal; paid 16.2.
