It's nice, but not $40k nice.

I like the car, but I'm also a bit underwhelmed for the price. I've had it for a month now. Pros: I got the XSE V6. The engine is relatively powerful, it handles pretty well. Feels very sure-footed and turns on a dime. It's comfortable, roomy, the infotainment system isn't the best on the market but it's good and the screen is easy to read. Android Auto is unfortunately not wireless, but that was an easy fix with a $50 "Carlinkit 5.0" device from Amazon. The car looks very nice compared to older Camrys. Interior materials are decent and it all seems to be built fairly well. Cons: No rattles that I've noticed but lots of road and wind noise, unacceptable for a $40k car IMO. The transmission can't make up its mind and makes weird gear choices sometimes. The stereo sounds like crap, and this even is with the JBL option. Very boomy and undefined even after tweaking the EQ settings. The speakers in my old 2004 were far more impressive and clean, even if they lacked bass. I'd think half-decent speakers in a new car would be a standard thing by now, especially with the upgraded audio option, I guess not. Conclusion: It's a good car (not great, just good), despite some annoyances and nitpicks. However, I'm not sure if they're really nitpicks when you're spending this much money. I can't help but think maybe I should have gotten a slightly used BMW or Audi for the same price instead. It would have been a much more refined overall experience. I'm actually half-thinking about selling it now to do that before it depreciates in price too much.

Excellent Value-Great Reputation for Engineering

Known for reliability and excellent resale, we selected a 2023 Camry LE AWD, with certainly enough modern conveniences, to keep us well satisfied, keeping it comfortably affordable. The driving pleasure and roadability is a strong attribute. The interior comfort is superior. Fuel consumption has exceeded the sticker ratings in our use. Looking very attractive in our circle drive. A rather sporty looking car. 3rd Toyota product in last 7 years or so.

It's just ok and underwhelming overall

2023 Toyota Camry SE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 8A)

I recently purchased a brand new Toyota Camry SE. I am a bit disappointed given the cost of the car. Let's start with the positives. It is a powerful car, but this is only really noticeable at higher speeds. It is large and there is plenty of space inside. It looks nice on the outside compared to older model Camry's, in my opinion. The seats are really comfortable. My car has leather-like upgraded seats, which provides a more premium look. Now, for the downsides. This car is slow to accelerate. I have to really press the gas pedal to go, which is very irritating. I have driven Honda Civic's that were faster to accelerate and were more responsive. Cars are constantly passing me when I am driving on the road. My foot started to actually ache a little bit from having to constantly push harder on the gas pedal than I am used to. I really hate driving this car unfortunately. It feels more powerful when you are already at a high rate of speed, but I spend a lot of time driving around town. The SE model is also too bumpy for my liking. I prefer a smooth ride, and this isn't it, but that is probably my fault (for purchasing an SE vs. an LE model). The engine is also really loud. Friends and family have mentioned this when they heard me starting my car, and I heard it too (from the outside) when I started my car and got out. It sounds like an old car from the outside when the engine is running. I was surprised to find out that my car does not have a push button start. For a car at ~$30k MSRP, you would expect that in this day and age. I have to use the regular key. I didn't think it would be an issue but after doing research and realizing that this is a standard feature on many cars, I wish this was standard for this model. It is also inconvenient. The drivers side seat adjustments are electric, but that isn't the case on the passenger side. Sound system is awful. I don't have JBL premium/upgraded sound in my car, but I still expected decent sound quality. I guess not. The sound system was also glitchy after an upgrade. My car doesn't have many safety features, including features that are standard in some lower cost cars. There were a couple of times when I started the car and it wouldn't start all the way (and my car is brand new). I had to start it again and it was fine, but it was just strange overall. Never had this issue with any prior cars. I like this car overall, but I don't love it. Some of this may be due to the lack of features/options included with my car (ie. no push button start, few safety features, no sunroof, etc.). There are too many alternative options in the market, including slightly used cars that are the same price but a lot more luxurious and more fun to drive. If this car was less expensive, I would let some of this go. But at this price point, I think I regret the purchase.

Horrible Vehicle

Please do yourself a favor & don’t buy this car. Ever since I purchased this vehicle brand new, a knocking noise in the rear has been happening (only on a full tank of gas). I have been to my local dealership several times for this issue. After the first diagnostic, they decided to replace the fuel tank. But, the noise still continued. After another diagnostic, they claimed that it is a “totally normal” noise for the 2023 model. In other words, they gave up & don’t want to fix it. I have a really hard time believing that a brand new car makes a loud knocking noise. Basically, the car is under warranty & Toyota refuses to fix this on-going issue. Moving on, the interior constantly rattles. All sorts of squeaking + rattling noises can be heard while driving. Overall, the interior feels extremely cheap. Lastly, the heated seats barely work. On the highest setting possible, they get warm at most. I honestly can’t even feel the heated seats on the middle/low setting. In conclusion, this is a very disappointing vehicle & an absolute nightmare since day 1 of ownership. I learned my lesson, I will never purchase a Toyota product again. I understand that it is just a Camry, but at the end of the day, this is nearly a $40,000 car brand new. They definitely don’t build them like they used to. STAY AWAY.

2023 Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid. Bad road noise. Also horrible wind noise. 5 trips to dealership to repair. All window and door seals replaced two times and still noise is excessively high. Got a decibel reader. In the mid 80’s driving above 50mph. Tried 2 different dealerships. Can’t fix. Was told it’s just the design of the car. Worse car I’ve ever owned.

must test drive at 50mph to confirm cabin noise

Infotainment for 2023 lacks competitors. Fuel mileage in small city average 22 mpg. Seats appear to be good quality. A shame to spend so much money and not have remote start without being forced to use Toyota app. Cabin noise at 50 is atrocious (did not notice with test drive). Toyota website under account not very accurate (my toyota vehicle specs show i have carbon cloth interior when it is either leather or softex). for having more horsepower than accord the camry doesn't pick up as well. Key fob range is quite weak. Vehicle does drive smooth it is just noisy!

I have bought about 15 brand new vehicles and this one is by far the worst. The car is comfortable and fuel efficient but that’s about it. Every new vehicle is like that. The interior is awful the plastics are cheap so they rattle and buzz according to the outside temperature. That said I ve taken it to the dealership trying to replicate the problem but they can’t. The infotainment is horrible. The transmission has its own mind. I would expect since this is the last model year of this generation they would have fixed all the issues. Engine reliability is important but what about everything else? They are much better choices out there

I purchased a 2023 XSE 2 tone Camry 4cyl in August 2022. Shortly after owning the vehicle, the care stalled out and acted as if it didn’t want to accelerate. This has happened 3 times total of me owning this vehicle. I took it in and they said that’s how they are made. Umm no!!!! That’s dangerous. The transmission is sketchy on how it shifts. Especially on turns. It down shifts, and you have to floor it to go. We had a 2011 LE Camry- no issues, We have a 2015 Camry XSE that’s ok. It had a few issues that were fixable, but again not the quality of our last Camry and it doesn’t drive any where near as bad as this new one does . I took it into service and of course nothing. There is a random knocking noise that comes from the front or back end of the car along with my JBL speaker system rattling. They argued me up and down that all of that was normal. I videos all issues, called Toyota Corp. They attempted to fix the noises and rattling speakers. I’m Almost a year into ownership and It’s a no brainer at this point not to buy another Camry and trade this thing off as soon as I can. I’m not losing anything in my book but a lemon! For 40K, the engineering is horrible! Save yourself the woes and time, and go buy another vehicle. Hondas are just as reliable.

I just purchased this 23 Camry se from Toyota of Romeoville, when I drive it makes a humming noise in the back, the car navigation cost extra to install , and something keeps rattling near the passenger seat belt. The interior is cheap as hell. It will start turning white as you start using it , the leather in the seats is very cheap , and omg is this car just trash. It’s only good on gas and very slow on first gear. 2.5l 4 cy usually saves gas but the transmission usually goes out because your trying to accelerate. I’m going to trade this car in and get a Honda accord. I’m done with Toyota , the older models were a lot better . These new models look good , but are trash ! I promise you will regret it. As you drive , it’s loud as hell , no noise cancellation either . Dealer will tell you it’s normal , this [non-permissible content removed] isn’t normal !

I have this as a rental while my Mazda 6 GT is at the collision shop (elderly lady backed into me). I’m shocked how underwhelming the Toyota Camry is compared to my Mazda 6 which was basically the same price. The interior is cheap looking, no power passenger seat, terrible sound system and no push button ignition. The car handles well but acceleration is dangerously slow but sounds like it’s towing a boat up hill! The road noise is awful and again, compared to my car, it’s super “base model” at an LE. There are many alternatives that look, feel, and drive luxuriously for the same price.

This is my 5th Toyota Camry and I’m so disappointed. Terrible road noise, front end scrapes easily and the car sounds like it’s about to break down. I bought the LE model, not wanting all the bells and whistles this time. The seats are cheaply made and incredibly uncomfortable, the car sounds hollow when I close the doors. What a hunk of junk. I bought this car brand new and have only put 3,000 miles on it. I’m ready to sacrifice my down payment in order to trade it in for a different car. I loved my 2017 Camry but the 2023 Camry doesn’t seem like it’s going to last long. Do better, Toyota.

My expectation and reality did not match. The ride was VERY noisy on the highway, I kept thinking a window was cracked open. Slow to gain speed. I felt a little unsafe in 5 o'clock surface street traffic. Android auto/ caraway is not wireless. Bluetooth audio sounded weird. Gas milage was awesome though. Engine noise seemed loud as well

My normal car is in the shop after I hit a curb. Its a 2021 KIA K5 EX with the Tech package, basically its loaded. I was in a Corolla for six weeks and got tired of the noise so I asked for a switch. The Camry SE is quieter than the Corolla and of course larger in every way. I took the car on a long 3.5 hour one way trip within days and noticed the following. The gas mileage is great on the highway 38 MPG. The driver seat became uncomfortable after 1 hour of driving. I mean uncomfortable. The Camry is very quiet at a stop and smooth surfaces. However on coarse roads its not. My K5, on the same trip, was night and day more comfortable. Even my passenger, who took both trips, had a similar observation in comfort. I had the Camry on my short list of cars to purchase once my K5 was at 75K miles. However this version of the Camry is now off the list. My observed MPG is good in city, 31 MPG. If you are a person who needs a taxi driver car this might not fit your needs. I'd be concerned about driver seat comfort and road noise.

From a 2010 V6 XLE to a 2023 V6 XSE. The bump from 270 hp to 301 is very noticeable. A capable sedan that instills confidence on the road and manages to turn heads. Only steps away from a Lexus, the XSE trim is well appointed and solidly put together. Sport tuned suspension keeps the car stable around tight turns with minimal body roll. The 8th generation Camry is bound to be timeless in aesthetics and reliability. Toyotas conservative approach to tech means well thought out and increased longevity. The V6 with direct and port injection is a home run for efficiency , power and engine health. One can not go wrong with this automobile.

I purchased the 2023 Toyota Camry XSE in August 2023. While the body is nice, I was very disappointed in the upgraded JBL sound system. Also, the noise level while driving. The service was also disappointing. The tire pressure has not been checked no time I went in for service in Orland Park as that is suppose to be a given. My tires all had a different pressure. Just not happy overall.

Looked at all types of vehicles. Looking for a smooth non-jarring ride with excellent fuel economy. Didn’t want anything turb charged. Certainly didn’t want a CVT transmission. Sold a 17 camry that I had for five years. 23 Camry LE checked all the boxes. Car is a dying breed. Smooth shifting 8-speed. First full tank averaging 38 mpg. Base car but not giving up many features. Well done toyota. On the minus side they are everywhere. But now I know why.

It's a Toyota. The car itself has a nice ride, could have gone for the V6 but this is the wife's car and not needed. Have not had it long enough to give an in depth review yet, but what I have observed from the ride, the looks, the Info center, bluetooth, phone and other device chargers, 2 years of maintenance, black leather seats, nice Gray Mica color, it looks like it is going to be another long term car. We had an 02 Acura TL Type S that was 21 years old but someone ran a red light and totaled it. I have an 02 Tundra still going strong. Hopefully we'll get like years out of this one.

Pro’s 1) XSE V6 for $5k under MSRP 2) Silky smooth V6 and trans. Last generation V6 that is basically bullet proof at this point 3) Perfectly damped suspension feels glued to the road. Soaks up bumps beautifully, like a cloud 4) Totally stable highway cruiser that is quiet and smooth. 5) Ice Cap white is such a unique color. In direct sunlight appears white and then cement grey at other times 6) Upscale interior with tasteful blue led lights on glovebox and armrests. Gauge cluster is both analog and digital, with a cool red background. Heads up display is super clear even in direct sunlight.Headlights are also extremely bright and light up the road well. Panoramic roof is badass and creates unique and memorable experience. Also extremely quiet when fully open, well done Toyota. 7) Dual injection D4S system provides all the benefits of both direct and port injection. 8) No ridiculous and unnecessary start/stop feature or variable cylinder management 9) No CVT 10) No problematic turbo Con’s: 1) Fuel economy could be better but honestly don’t care, the v6 is incredible! 2) Compared to the 2020 accord sport interior is more cramped/intimate. 3) Skinny leather steering compared to Accord. Takes some getting used to but no big deal. 4) High schoolish styling. 5) Smaller trunk than 2020 accord sport 6) Body panel gaps not the tightest 7) Higher insurance rates than Accord Sport

I came from a ford rs and mitsubishi evo 9, So obviously im not commenting on power or acceleration. I will comment that the safety festures are very good. Interior is good as well. I do agree the cabin noise is more than i expected. But i always have the radio on so dont notice. Seats have lumbar support adjustment and overall seem comfortable. I wish it had mood lights in the cabin.i love it that i can see each tire pressure. I love having a spare tire. Auto high beams is nice. Overall a terrific daily driver.

Pick up not impressive, fuel mileage not impressive, infotainment not impressive, key fob range is not even 50 feet when holding panic button, remote start is not an option you have to have toyota app installed to use remote start--you will get it free for a year and then have to pay 8 bucks a month. Visor mirrors don't have lights. Headlights only have one bulb--very weak headlights. Fog lights were not an option on this trim. Cabin noise begins at 50 mph on the drivers and passenger window--very annoying. My low fuel light indicator did not turn on with only 24 miles remaining on gage (dealership told me to watch out for it). The car should get 25 mpg in city but i am averaging closer to 21 mpg. fuel capacity is off. car has 14.4 gallon tank. 25mpg x 25= 360. i have yet to top off my car and get past 310 miles. 37k car with no parking sensors. when you think of toyota think of ala carte. they don't offer much as standard features. Does not have the ability to send a text through car unless you are wired up to apple car play or andriod auto. the car will only send the defaulted messages set to car (no microphone to text with) Car doesn't have lighted vanity mirrors. I will admit the car looks great and drives well.

Toyota placed my 2023 Camry XSE V6 on QC Hold

I understand Safety comes First. I was shown that Toyota placed hundreds of their vehicles on QC (Quality Control/check) for 30 days in December 2022. However, the vehicle that was sold to me had finished production assembly in late November and sat somewhere as it was supposed to be in transit to my local Toyota Dealership 12/24 - 29/2022. It has a VIN, dealer gave it a Stock#, I've been approved by TFS, placed $10k down on 12/12/2022, initial sales paperwork, etc. Then on 12/19 was told it was not coming in as placed on QC Hold. My understanding that Toyota is increasing Interest Rates in January 2023. This QC hold of 30 Days allows TFS to readjust the APR% forcing you into paying the new high interest rate because you have not yet received the vehicle and the Sale plus Finance is incomplete before their January deadline. Toyota just made a huge profit because they rather hold onto the vehicle instead of delivering when promised to the dealership so you can have your new vehicle. Word of advice do not buy a new vehicle in November or December for Toyota will screw you over. I called TFS, transferred to Brand Engagement Advocate, back to TFS in which they all say the Dealership was in control as to what APR% you were to get. But then the Dealership does not profit off this unless TFS give them a kickback. The Dealership says TFS and TFS says the Dealership sounds like collusion to me.

This is my BABY right here, I absolutely love her. She is a keyless entry, heated seats and wheel, sunroof, JBL speakers boujee girly and I couldn't have asked for more. It was an upgrade from my last vehicle and she has some get up to her even tho she is also eco friendly . Everything I wanted with my new car, I found with her and it was such a steal. Now the payments/interest ain't nothing to play about but it's manageable and she's pristine . I love it here 🥰

Best automobile I have owned in 15 years. Wish I would have done it sooner. Handles well, great excelleration on take off, excellent milage. Love the color. Only down fall for me is a distortion in the back window at night with head light glare from traffic behind you. View is very poor. I think it comes from defrost lines in window.

The car is gas efficient because of the addition of “Eco, Normal, and Sport” drive mode added to 2023 model. My experience with speed on highway is amazing as the car has ability to accelerate quicker and faster with low gasoline use with the use of “Sport Mode.” Eco mode also help safe gas while driving in the city with a huge reduction in carbon monoxide pollutant effects on the e psychological system. Overall, the think the car is environmental friendly to say the least.

Newest car ever bought, I'm just not in love with it, although I should be. Looks sharp, excellent gas mileage, large seats (although not comfy headrests are terrible and not enough lumbar suport). Very spacious inside. Not digging the low ground clearance, can't imagine it's any good in snow and ponding water, also figuring the snow will really build up underneath

Love this car. My first AWD Camry, this being my 6th Camry. Drives beautifully and I don't experience the loud cabin noise that others have experienced. Has a ton of bells and whistles and mine came with the cold weather package: heated steering wheel and heated seats. Also has lane assist (keeps you between the lines). Brakes when you get too close to the car in front of you. Auto headlights that auto dim when an oncoming car is coming. Android Auto that displays Google maps and other Apps on the screen. Displays temperature, tire pressure, how many miles to empty, and how many miles you are getting per gallon. Driver's side seat is more comfortable than the passenger seat. I have two-tone interior (gray and black), which I love. Also, I have cloth seats, I'm not a fan of leather seats in Northern WI. Side mirrors show when a car is coming up on either side of you. When backing up, car will beep if someone or something is behind you. The backup camera is super clear and easy to read. I think the trunk is smaller than my previous Camrys. Getting over 40 mpg and I don't have the hybrid but I do have AWD. Fun fact I just found out from a Toyota Camry forum, if you press the lock button 3 times, the car starts. I was shocked when it really worked but you have to be close to the car, which defeats the car of having remote start. It isn't advertised that it even has remote start (which it really isn't).

We got out of our 2017 Malibu Premier pretty gracefully. We ended up in a black, 2023 Camry XLE AWD loaded. I would have waited until the next model to be honest, but this was the decision. Panaromic moonroof, leather. What do I miss? Honestly not having the memory seats. And, white paint is so much easier to deal with. This one still had the white ppf on it, 5 miles on the odo. After 3 weeks, we headed 1,500 miles South, landed in Florida New Years Day. As it started to break in on that trip, mpg started to rise. Overall average down was 37 mpg, Last leg of the trip was an even 40 mpg. Extremely comfortable and quiet drive, even at 80-85 when we just had to maintain speed. Cruise control was awesome, so no, foot never got tired. In traffic, it's literally no problem keeping up with anyone really. No rocketship, but it's no struggle either. I drove a new Honda as well. While I appreciated the steering, I did not appreciate the noise, which starts around 45 mph and goes up from there. I can only imagine the next gen Camry will further widen the gap. As I've always experienced with Toyotas over the decades, no problems. With short drives around town for 3-10 miles, it's setting in at 27 mpg. I much prefer a well thought out car that doesn't putout new sheetmetal every couple of years, wrapped around spotty engineering. Let's hope they keep this up and don't pander to the new crowd of buyers that demand a "refresh" every 2-3 years.

We're about to hit 10k on our 23 xse awd. I feel it's a decent sedan. The awd is impressive in moderate snow. We haven't had issues with noise on highway. The Toyota app is very convenient as well as heated seats and steering wheel. This car is a car you can feel safe in. If you live where you have snow and winters this is a good sedan for you. If you live somewhere warm with no snow I'd go a level up spend a little more money because 200hp for the price isn't great. Now things that I don't like or wish could be better. This car is overpriced. The hp makes this car under powered but it shifts good with the 8 speed and has enough to do the job. The drivers side wiper doesn't pop up like other cars. You have to switch the wiper on then stop it to pull wiper off window. We built our car then it went into production so if you get the dashcam added just so you know the Toyota dashcam app is useless. The dashcam works but app doesn't work so you will need to get a sd card adapter and plug it in to your laptop, desktop or phone to view clips. Also the mpg is the awd is only 23-24 city.

Rides nice. Love the AWD. Lots of issues (7 trips to the dealer in 19k miles for various issues). Bluetooth/Apple Car Play not connecting at times or disconnecting randomly. Mirror covers coming off in car washes (given up using automatic car washes, trim is too easily broken), transmission shifts very hard, engine is noisy, paint defects (almost entire inner fuel door was unpainted!).

Bought the top-of-the-line loaded 2023 Camry XSE AWD so far so good, little underpowered for my taste . . in heavy Dallas traffic getting on freeway with impatient drivers in a mad rush 24/7 is a task especially with a Kenworth coming and someone 3 inches off your bumper.. I personally prefer my 1970 Nova SS with a 350ci pushing 355hp on dyno (new crate motor) Mickey Thompsons & Centerlines. Has never left me stranded and my last trip was 850 miles from Illinois to Texas. So what if it doesn’t have air conditioned leather seats? At least it has power to burn and it gets me where I’m going, not to mention it looks so freaking cool while listening to KISS Alive! 1975, Zeppelin, Beatles and Pink Floyd

I recently purchased the 2023 Camry XSE in Wind Chill Pearl, panoramic roof, all the extras. I am loving this Camry in the 750 miles I’ve driven it. Handles & looks great. Love all the safety features and great sounding audio system. The fuel economy is awesome, averaging 36-38 mpg. I have no regrets in trading my 2018 4 Runner for this beauty.
