Used 2021 Toyota Camry SE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 8A) Consumer Reviews
Not Like Past Camrys
I was just validated twice today. I have hated (mild) my 2021 Camry from day 2. Slow acceleration, very jerky ride like there is something seriously wrong with the drivetrain, and now, I am just reading from a reviewer named Jenn about stabbing hip pain. I also felt it was the result of this car, because none of these hip pains (for me rear) occurred until about a month into driving this car. I have literally had to find the ONE SPOT I can put the seat in and told my family do not touch it, for fear of again having to go back through all of the pain. We have owned many Camrys, and they have been amazing. This is by far the worst car I have ever owned. There is never a day I am happy with this car, and I have a very easy personality. The only redeeming quality is the moon roof, which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. Time for a do-over, and go back to the good old days and make it like our 2012 Camry, which I prefer to drive over this one (both the speed and the smoothness). According to my service guy, he and his wife experienced the same jerky ride (feels like transmission is slipping)-- they traded in for a 2023 and now the ride is smooth (still slow though). This is not the 4 cylinder of before.

Reliability and style in one
I like this car because: Good gas mileage, spacious interior, infotainment ease of use, style Minor complaints: Unrefined buzzy motor, and transmission is very busy. 8 speeds in the auto trans keeps the car shifting very often. Overall: Get to work with no issues whilst looking stylish, and no crazy depreciation because, well, Toyota. Highly recommend, but then again, I’m quite the simpleton and easy to please…
Acceleration delay
I’ve had my 2021 Camry Se for 6 months and there is a huge issue with acceleration delay. Most times it lasts for a second or two and then it takes off with a jerk. But lately it allowed me to roll into traffic and engine revved up and I went no where for about 5 seconds. Thank God I didn’t get hit. It took off again with a jerk after about 5 seconds. Would not recommend. Dealership says it was an issue on older models and there was a recall, but it has been fixed on models after 2020??? Mine is a 2021. Anyone else experience this? I’m ready to dump it and get something else.

Love our New Camry SE
We are long time Camry owners, this is our 7th, and we chose the SE model over the LE because of the additional styling of the exterior and interior. In over 20 years of experience with Toyotas we have never had a problem with any vehicle made by Toyota. This new one looks great and my wife loves it. Since it will be her car, that is very important. We are looking forward to great transportation for many years to come.

Get the accord
Pros: looks gorgeous, reliable, incredible engine, comfortable, and quiet. Cons: adaptive cruise control disconnects around 20mph (except 2 trims), dash is a decade behind, and apple CarPlay would not work without Toyota app. While Camry is a wonderful car, Accord has much more to offer. Full adaptive cruise control, push button start, rear camera trajectory/birds eye view. bigger wheels, better handling, better low end torque (turbos), bigger infotainment screen, and a beautiful dash.
