Used 2019 Toyota Camry Sedan Consumer Reviews
Camry XSE V6
I love this car. The engine and transmission are smooth, it has plenty of power and it is very quiet - even with the panoramic sunroof. My only issue with it is my own - I am 6’4” and about 240 pounds. The seat bolsters are a bit pronounced and this leads to a bit of discomfort for a bigger framed man. Nothing, however, that an extra seat cushion can’t easily handle. The leg room up front is amazing - the most I have ever had in any vehicle. So much so that I - for once - don’t have to ride with the seat all the way back. I have already received many positive responses from friends and neighbors on the car. I chose the wind chill pearl (not two-tone) and it looks amazing. My wife - who is 5’2” loves how it adjusts to fit her frame better than our other cars and enjoys being able to have better visibility given the range of the seat height available. This one is a keeper.

Great car design
Great car the 4cycle is good but there is noise when engine at startup that goes away after about 15 to 30 secs and then another noise comes in after a min or so that comes and goes away I was told at cox toyota that it was the car system doing a self emissions check and it does it each time u start car after about 5 mins of turning it off so it's normal but it also have a lag in transmission at times during quick stops and goes and it's like the transmission not sure what gear to catch so it snatches alittle and accelerates rapidly. Other than that it's a people pleaser but does not ride like a lexus but it's worth the price great car so far I got 2019 camry xse windchill pearl with red interior looks great with tint legal limit with 19in wheels toyota worked hard on this one I give them that !!!!

Great sedan
I leased my Camry LE about two weeks ago. I already put about 600 miles of mixed driving on my car. My car shifts smoothly, and the V4 engine provides adequate power and excellent fuel economy. The ride is smooth and comfortable. In city driving, the car is easy to handle. The small turning radius makes it easy to park and maneuver. On the highway, I get over 40 mpg at 75 mph. The adaptive cruise control really works well to maintain a safe following distance in busy traffic. The seats were comfortable during a 3.5 hour drive. I also like all of the basic safety systems on my car. The auto dimming brights respond quickly and the sensors pick up just about anything (including the lights on house at a T intersection). The lane departure system works good. I have not yet tested the pedestrian detection system (thankfully). The backup camera works well and has a crisp image. I am very happy with my car so far!

Toyota doesn't stand behind their product
I previously owned a Toyota Camry and loved the car, which led me to purchase a 2019 Camry. It has been the worst car I have ever owned!!!! It has transmission issues since day 1, bluetooth/stereo issues, the WORST NAVIGATION SYSTEM EVER (not user friendly at all and gives really bad directions), and every time I turn around something else is going wrong. SAFETY ISSUE: In stop and go traffic, traveling at slow speeds, if changing to a faster lane, having the gas floored, the car won't accelerate/down shift that lasts about 5-10 seconds before it accelerated. One time, a car that was two cars in front of me pulled out and he was gone, while I was still sitting there with no acceleration and another car quickly approaching from the rear! I opened a case with Toyota which is a joke, they just took notes, and had the Service Manager call and tell me that Toyota was concerned about gas mileage and it really was only a half a second delay. He also said not to complain about it but ask the Service Advisor if there has been an update. COMPLAIN EVERY TIME AS THIS WILL HELP YOU IN A LEMON LAW CASE!!!! They put your car on their health computer and told me everything checks out fine. I road tested with the mechanic and he said there was a definite problem, they have already thrown parts at others but nothing fixed it, and they are now told to wait for Toyota to provide a fix. It's been over a year and still no fix. Of course that never made it on the service ticket but only no problem found. After filling for arbitration I noticed a number of times I complained were missing and the times they were on the ticket it stated no problem found. At this time I requested a test drive with the mechanic, they refused stating that this is a know problem, but there wasn't anything they could do about it and still put on the ticket "No problem found." Toyota is well aware of the transmission issues, as noted by the Service Advisors, and the multiple complaints on NHTSA. I will now file under the "Lemon Law." I expected more from Toyota and will never purchase another Toyota again due to this experience. Still having problems with a miss. Dealership drove car and said there wasn't anything wrong and NO CODES STORED! During discovery in the lemon law case, they provided these documents, and their were codes stored. Miss #2 cylinder and multiple misses. Don't believe everything the dealership says, they know there is a problem, but since it's intermittent don't want to fix it. Their logic is wait for it to fail completely and put the customer at risk!

Beautiful car, annoying issues
The features in my car: panoramic sunroof, bird's eye view, full-up technology package with JBL sound system and heads-up display, front and back parking sensors, and driver assist package. I've been driving this car for over a year. I purchased it March 2019, and it was wonderful in the beginning! I have put ~13,500 miles on it since I purchased it, and the car is starting to give me problems. The first problem I noticed was the crappy adhesive Toyota uses to adhere the weather seal around the panoramic sunroof. I live in Las Vegas, and the summer heat last year caused the adhesive to melt, so I used the warranty to replace it... it melted within the month, so the dealership used a different adhesive to hold the seal in place. It is now noticeably repaired where the seal to be re-adhered. I had owned it for 2 months at that point. Over the past 8 months, I have started noticing the car acting like it's not getting enough gas when I try to accelerate; it's as if the car is trying to stall, even when I'm trying to give it more gas. Initially, this problem was only noticeable in "normal" mode, but I have started experiencing the same issues while it's in "eco" mode. I can't say whether or not it's happening in "sport" mode, as I only activate it when I'm trying to accelerate to get through traffic. Just last week, while it was in park in my driveway, it almost completely stalled. Needless to say, it's spending the next couple of nights in the Toyota Service Department while they try to figure it out. Additionally, just last week, the driver's window refused to roll down automatically, even after 3 attempts. This, too, is being addressed while it's hanging out with the service department. As for other things about the car, it is definitely comfortable to drive, but not for long distances. I'm 5'7", 150 pounds, and 34 years old; however, I had lumbar back surgery 7 years ago, and I was drawn to the Camry's inflatable lumbar support for the driver. I had hoped it would provide me with the support I needed to drive long distances without pain (more than 2 hours), but it does not. The wireless phone charger dock is absolutely useless unless you have a "sticky" phone or phone case, and Toyota forcing my hand to buy an Apple phone just to use all the technology features in the care is infuriating. I refuse to trade in my Galaxy for an iPhone, as I've been a "Samsung person" for the past 10 years or more. The Amazon Music app through the car has terrible sound quality, so I just stream music from my phone through Bluetooth, and the sound system is able to prove that it's more than impressive. The trunk is super roomy, and the ability to lay the back seats down allows for more larger/longer items to be transported; however, the opening for the trunk doesn't allow for bulky items to be loaded into the trunk. I have successfully loaded my son's mid-size bicycle into the trunk, though. After driving a fully loaded 2012 Camry SE 3.5L V6 for 7 years, I had higher expectations for the 2019 Camry XSE 2.5L 4-cylinder than it was able to deliver. I truly miss my older Camry, and am already looking at purchasing a different car. This is disappointing, as I paid cash for this car thinking I'd be happy with it until the wheels fell off (YEARS from now). I wish I hadn't been so drawn to the flashy beauty of the car, and had actually taken the time to research reviews and paid more attention during the test drive.
