Red Interior Caught My Eye~Toyota Quality Sold Me
Television ads really do work! I am proof of that. I started seeing the ads for the new 8th generation Toyota Camry XSE on TV. And when I saw that red interior, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had loved the Camry since the new one came out in 2018. Recently, my wife and I decided to buy a new car. We looked at a competing brand but they just didn't appeal to us that much. Then we looked at the Camry XSE. And we fell in love with it. And then when I did my research, I found Toyota's reliability and resale records to be exceptional. So we bought a 2019 XSE in Wind Chill Pearl White with a Midnight Black Metallic top with Panoramic Roof and the Cockpit Red leather interior. I find these colors together to be breathtaking and striking! And we LOVE this car. It rides and drives wonderfully. Braking and steering are excellent. We opted for the 4-cylinder 2.5 Liter engine and it has good acceleration with the 8-speed automatic but only if it is in the Sport mode. Fuel mileage is fantastic. We also have a Kia with a smaller engine in a lighter car and this Camry gets better MPG. Amazing. Smooth and quiet for trips, plenty of legroom front and rear and a huge trunk. But best of all is all the technology this car offers. This car is smarter than I am. You've seen all the things these cars can do. But let me tell you it adds so much to the driving experience. And I feel so safe in this car. I never had a car before I could say that about. We've had this car for 2 1/2 months now and I still just enjoy going out in the garage and looking at it! Not many cars bring that emotion out in me. You will love a Toyota Camry XSE!!! I received an invitation to update my review on our 2019 Toyota Camry XSE. We've had it for a little over 2 years now. The car has 16,000 miles and I still feel just as strongly about the car as I did when it was new. We have had NO problems of any kind with it. Our dealer has done the complimentary free 2-year Toyota Care service on it. And they were extremely friendly about it too. The car still gets many compliments from other people which I feel is a big deal these days since so many cars look so much alike. But the Camry XSE is unique in appearance and it shows. I will say once again I've had no regrets about buying this car. It was one of the best purchases of any kind I have ever made. It still rides great, handles well, stops quickly and gets outstanding fuel mileage all the while looking great going down the road. Thank you, Toyota! Hello, everybody! We have had our 2019 Toyota Camry XSE a little over 2 1/2 years now and we still absolutely love it. It is a very comfortable, stylish, dependable ride and it gets great fuel mileage. It now has 21k miles and we haven't have a single issue at all with it. The car did have a recall on it. So, our Toyota dealer picked the car up at my wife's work, took it to their dealership, performed the recall, did an oil and filter change, rotated and balanced the tires and washed the car. Then they returned it to her work. This has been such a pleasant dealer experience. I have NEVER had a dealer do for me the things they gladly do. What does this all boil down to? I am hooked on Toyota for life. Their way of building cars and doing business at the retail level are unmatched. Which all means I will continue to buy Toyotas from now on. We've had this 2019 Camry XSE over three years now and still absolutely love it. We're at close to 26,000 miles now. And we have had ZERO problems with it. It still rides very comfortably, handles well, drives beautifully, stops on a dime and gets amazing fuel mileage. We have a Kia we bought several years ago also that has a smaller engine and is a lighter car than this Camry and yet the Camry gets better MPG. And that is an important factor now since the price of gas is so much higher than it was when we bought it. Our car has the 206 HP 2.5L four-cylinder. I also want to mention the great customer service we receive from our local Toyota store where we bought our car. They go way out of their way to provide exceptional service. I have one lady there whom I deal with when we need service/maintenance taken care of and she always come thru for me, even going above and beyond what is expected. And she always has our car picked up for service and has it returned upon completion of the work. She will even have it washed and cleaned inside if I request it. All in all, the whole experience of owning this 2019 Toyota Camry XSE has been a pleasant one. I have no regrets over having purchased it and look forward to many more years of pride of ownership. Again, as I said before, "Thank you, Toyota!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, today is 07/31/2022. Edmunds has asked me to update my review of our 2019 Toyota Camry XSE. So, here goes. I still love the car as much as ever. We have had ZERO issues with it. I took it to our selling dealer last week to have an oil change and to have the tires rotated and balanced as the car was just getting ready to turn 30k miles. I told my wife I felt sure they would say it needed brakes and tires. As for the tires, I have been keeping an eye on them. I check and adjust the tire pressure in all of our cars around the first of each month with my home compressor. Our Camry XSE came with 19-inch wheels and Bridgestone Turanza EL 440 low-profile tires. It is a toss up between those and Michelin Primacys on which you get. They come with both. As I said, I've been monitoring my tires and have noticed lately they were getting worn down a good bit. Well, the dealer called me and said the tires need to be replaced now. I declined. The service advisor said she would send a print out for four kinds of replacement tires with prices. She said that would include the Bridgestones like are on the car now. I said there was no use in doing that since they only last 30k miles! I've never had a set of tires that only lasted 30k miles. RIDICULOUS! Amazingly, she did not mention replacing the brakes. So to sum up this summary (little play on words there LOL), the car itself is doing great. But Bridgestone just lost a customer for the rest of my life with their poor-mileage tires. Oh and by the way, of the four tires the service advisor printed out for me, the OEM Bridgestones were the most expensive coming in at $1540!!

Not The Type of Sedan I Like!!
This car has gone down hill since back in the 80's and 90's. The interior is very uncomfortable and the technology inside is very cheap. Half the time the iPhone won't work with the cheap technology that Toyota has provided. I hear it has a lot of road noise and it is loud when you take off. The outside of the vehicle is ok if you like the sporty look, which I'm not into. Not worth the money. I will stick with the Honda Accord.

A dog with fleas
Such a beauty of a car. I have the XSE with two tone roof. No shitty sunroof. Pearl White paint. For the most part, I enjoy the car, but its an absolute dog as far as acceleration. Annoying as hell until it gets up to speed. At that point, its comfy, somewhat quiet, and great on gas. Tranny searches for gears quickly to conserve on gas leading to a few abrupt shifts here and there Starting to regret buying. Should have went for the Mazda 6, but complaints about terrible ac kept me from buying. Will see. All in all a looker of a car that has some fleas

Awesome on gas if you drive it right
I’ve had my Camry for 2 months now. Awesome car. I drive 33 miles to work one way and fill up once a week. I’m getting 43mpg but I don’t accelerate hard and I drive the speed limit. Very economical car. It also looks great. Smooth shifting response and if you press a little harder on the gas pedal it’ll fly! No complaints here. I love it.
2019 Camry SE Wonderful Midsize Sedan
My two big criteria for the recent purchase cycle was 1. No CVT and 2. No turbo. The 2019 Camry SE with the 203 HP 2.5L Inline 4 met my criteria. Another was the non-turbo Mazda 6. But, the wife preferred the styling of the Camry SE. So, we went with that. I broke in the car gently during the first 300 miles. I never went above 50 mph. I also kept RPMs no higher than 4000. During this phase, the 8AT seemed a bit rough. There were a couple instances when the 8AT hesitated when I suddenly mashed down the gas pedal while the car was at low speed. I thought that might be a continuation from the 2018 models. Something to keep an eye on. But, normal acceleration from a stop seemed fine. Once the odometer reached 300 miles I started using the paddleshifters and experimented with shifting up and down at different RPMs. I would go from normal D mode to paddleshifters back to D mode. I noticed the 8AT shifts got smoother during this phase. But, I still avoided the freeway and speeds higher than 50 mph. There was also one incident when the 8AT hesitated, again after I mashed down hard on the gas pedal. Once the odometer reached 700 miles, I decided it was time to hit the freeways and remove the speed/RPM restrictions I had followed earlier. Freeway speed limit at my neighborhood is 75 mph which means everyone is doing 80 mph. I punched it on the on-ramp. There was no hesitation and 8AT shifting was smooth. I was already at 80 mph before merging. I could still go higher. But, no point in doing so. I was able to merge without incident. I did the freeway merge repeatedly and not once did the 8AT ever hesitate. By the time the odometer read 1000 miles, the 8AT was shifting smoothly. Acceleration was brisk given the extra heft of the car and no turbo to help out. The rest of the mileage is mostly enjoyment from driving the car. The Camry certainly has some road manners. I was being tailgated by a smart ass in an Acura CUV. We came up on a T intersection that has a flashing green light. I took a right turn at 25 mph and punched the gas. No hesitation whatsoever and I got up to 45 mph fairly quick. Sweeet. The dumbass in the Acura tried to follow me in that turn. But, he/she overshot and almost ran into the incoming traffic. I saw the Acura waver left and right from my rear view mirror. He/She didn't tailgate me anymore after that.
