2019 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 8A)

I bought the 2019 Camry LE new in November 2018. During the warranty period, the only repair the car needed was an engine software update for very slow acceleration (no recall notice). The transmission needed to be replaced at 102,000 miles (cost $8,500), even though it had 2 fluid changes. The car is comfortable, roomy, handles well, and gets great miles per gallon. On highway trips, I frequently get 35.5 miles per gallon -- I believe this is very good for a non-hybrid, gasoline powered, midsize sedan with a listed curb weight of 3,300 pounds. Now for the cons, the car had slower acceleration than expected from the beginning until the transmission was replaced with a remanufactured one. The engine and transmission noise is pronounced, as is the road noise. Safety alerts are frequent and largely unnecessary. The transmission only lasted 102,000 miles. Taking the pros and cons into consideration, I believe this sedan to be a fair front wheel drive sedan, for the 2019 model year. Update, as of September 2025 and 114,000 miles, the car is running well and looks okay: No additional major repairs.

Toyota doesn't stand behind their product

I previously owned a Toyota Camry and loved the car, which led me to purchase a 2019 Camry. It has been the worst car I have ever owned!!!! It has transmission issues since day 1, bluetooth/stereo issues, the WORST NAVIGATION SYSTEM EVER (not user friendly at all and gives really bad directions), and every time I turn around something else is going wrong. SAFETY ISSUE: In stop and go traffic, traveling at slow speeds, if changing to a faster lane, having the gas floored, the car won't accelerate/down shift that lasts about 5-10 seconds before it accelerated. One time, a car that was two cars in front of me pulled out and he was gone, while I was still sitting there with no acceleration and another car quickly approaching from the rear! I opened a case with Toyota which is a joke, they just took notes, and had the Service Manager call and tell me that Toyota was concerned about gas mileage and it really was only a half a second delay. He also said not to complain about it but ask the Service Advisor if there has been an update. COMPLAIN EVERY TIME AS THIS WILL HELP YOU IN A LEMON LAW CASE!!!! They put your car on their health computer and told me everything checks out fine. I road tested with the mechanic and he said there was a definite problem, they have already thrown parts at others but nothing fixed it, and they are now told to wait for Toyota to provide a fix. It's been over a year and still no fix. Of course that never made it on the service ticket but only no problem found. After filling for arbitration I noticed a number of times I complained were missing and the times they were on the ticket it stated no problem found. At this time I requested a test drive with the mechanic, they refused stating that this is a know problem, but there wasn't anything they could do about it and still put on the ticket "No problem found." Toyota is well aware of the transmission issues, as noted by the Service Advisors, and the multiple complaints on NHTSA. I will now file under the "Lemon Law." I expected more from Toyota and will never purchase another Toyota again due to this experience. Still having problems with a miss. Dealership drove car and said there wasn't anything wrong and NO CODES STORED! During discovery in the lemon law case, they provided these documents, and their were codes stored. Miss #2 cylinder and multiple misses. Don't believe everything the dealership says, they know there is a problem, but since it's intermittent don't want to fix it. Their logic is wait for it to fail completely and put the customer at risk!

“Another” Great Family Car

I recently replaced my 2007 Camry (6 cylinder) with a 2019 Camry (4 cylinder) and I couldn’t be happier. The new car is quiet, has updated electronics and is also loaded with lots of new safety equipment. Most surprising is how much better the new car handles than the older one. There was a trade-off in less power but made up for with much, much better gas mileage. Overall I’m very happy with my new Camry and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable car. Update to prior review: No problems my Camry and I'm still very happy with it but I'm disappointed in one thing: I own the LE model, as do most people, but unless you buy an upgrade this car fails to included heated outside review mirror. This is a big safety issue here in the Northeast that is sorely needed on this model. No problems with my 2019 Camry LE since my last report. Continues to provide excellent service and gas mileage - 35 MPH+ on the highway with a 4 cylinder engine. My 2019 Camry LE continues to provide excellent service at a fuel sipping rate. On board computer shows an overall gas usage of 30.5 mpg since purchasing the car and at times on the highway over 40 mpg. I am still driving my 2019 Toyota Camry and must say that it continues to give me excellent service with absolutely no problems. Also love the great gas milage that I get - easily 40+ MPG on the open highway!!

I'm a little surprised about all the complaints about this car I've had it for about 25000 miles I mean I can understand the irritation was the entertainment system not working seamlessly with your phone indivisibility is not perfect and the headlights while bright don't seem to go quite far enough on the road and it does have a little bit of a lag accelerating from a dead stop or going through slow turns but it does prevent me from getting tickets and it is very sporty looking and very comfortable I'm an average-sized 5-9 man I like the leather wrap steering will I have the SE four-cylinder version and yes the doors are a little cheap sounding when you close them but most cars are these days everything's made of plastic and thinner materials on pretty much every car I think it's not that this car is so bad it's just that most new cars are not what they used to be I like the transmission is very smooth on the highway the car is very stable at high speeds it changes Lanes nicely it goes to the turns really smoothly incels planted on the road they did a good job on the suspension the engine runs really well you might change the oil a little more often than 10,000 miles that's a little strange I change my own oil at about four thousand miles I use Mobil 1 synthetic 0w 20 and wix makes a nice oil filter. I paid about 23500 for my car it's a 2019. You're not going to find a better car for that price you can get a smaller car that maybe a little faster and you can get a more expensive car that's faster and probably has better features set for the money I couldn't find a better car I thought the Accord was ugly to be honest the adaptive cruise control is actually kind of nice you just have to know that when a car is changing lanes or you're going around a car or someone's turning that it will slow down a little more than it should all you have to do is push on the gas to go ahead and go around them it's fantastic to have that feature on the highway I just turned it off when I get into town hey the coolest feature I've ever had on a car I don't have any complaints about engine noise it just sounds like there's actually an engine in the car and road noise is not bad at all although some sound deadening material inside the driver's and passenger doors might not be a bad idea I just don't feel right taking all that stuff apart honestly my only complaint is that I wished it had high speed charging capabilities from the USB port for my phone but I ordered a high speed charging cigarette lighter charger on Amazon for like $13 and it works great my other complaint is I wish it was possible to completely disable eco mode on the SE model and a permanent disabled for the traction control and Lane assist beeping I do wish that it had a beeping noise if you're backing up and something's in the way and I wish I had fog lights I'm sure I can have fog lights installed for not very much money I'm sure they have aftermarket fog lights the stereo sounds good it has never disconnected from my phone and the air conditioner works great I live in Texas it's hot in the automatic air conditioner regulates the temperature very nicely I have zero complaints about the paint all you have to do is put wax on it the tires are really good and showing very little wear the rims are really nice and it has plastic skid plates underneath the entire car to protect all the parts of the car so if you do drive up onto something those can be replaced fairly easily call the complaint I had about my Hyundai Elantra have been fixed by getting this car it has plenty of power and the air conditioner works better and the stereo sounds better and the engine is obviously more reliable don't be upset that new cars are just not as solid as they used to be there all like that nowadays but for the money this is probably the best car on the market even with a little bit of lag at slow speeds I'm sure that will be fixed in no time you will appreciate this car on the highway it is nice and another thing is that handles the bumps really well I think.

Like a lot of other commenters, this is probably my 6 or 7 toyota, but my 3rd camry, so imagine my surprise when the transmission shift with that huge jerk!!! My 2009 Camry was amazing. Truly disappointed with the driving capability of the car, but love the styling and interior. HATE the entune crap. Frankly, doesn't work. Hope Toyota recalls and fix this transmission problems and keep their customers HAPPY!!!
