The most reliable car EVER MADE!!

2005 Toyota Camry LE 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A)

I purchased my 2005 Camry LE new in August 2005 and it now (13 1/2 years later) has about 140,000 miles on it. Simply put, this car never breaks down. Other than routine maintenance--oil, tires, change fluids, new shocks, etc--I have spent about $300.00 on repairs. Yep, $300.00 in 13 1/2 years and that repair was for something that wasn't even that important and was more of a precaution (can't even remember what it was). Everything still works perfectly--A/C, heat, power windows, transmission, electrical. No problems at all. This car just keeps on going. Great gas mileage because it's a 4 cylinder. Sure it's not the most exciting car visually or to drive but who cares when it's this cheap to operate. I paid around 17k for this car and it's the best money I've ever spent on a vehicle by far.

Camry #1 How many years in a row?

2005 Toyota Camry XLE V6 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A)

This is the 3rd Toyota Camry I've owned and they have all been purchased USED. I buy them with 30,000 miles or less and drive them for (no less than 4 years)and an additional 150,000 miles until trade in. Total annual cost (average) to own the vehicle? $2910 including tax, title and maintenance. When my current Camry is paid off in 2 months the annual cost to own my Camry will drop to $419. And I'll ride that out for 2 more years. Not a bad annual cost to ride a fully loaded Camry V6 XLE loaded to the gills. Since 1997? Why would I drive ANYTHING else. Seriously!

I bought this car from a seller in CL for my daily 200 miles commuting. After driving 4000 miles, it still runs great. Handling is good for a front wheel drive car. In general, Im not an aggressive driver but like to drive at constant speed that gives overall mpg about 37. One full tank load can last for more than 500 miles. Of course I changed all the oils, fluids, filters (transmission and air), shocks and coolant when the first week I got this car. The transmission fluid was leaking but after replaced the crush washer. The problem solved. It does smoke at starting the car as everyone said. Some say it's valve seal but others say might be fuel left in cylinder and is normal, etc. But I never observe any oil consuming (I check my oil every other day) and the car passed the inspection. On little thing is that I have to put a small pillow to make the seat very comfortable. However, I dont need that for 2016 Corolla. Overall, it's reliable car with great gas millage and great for my daily long distant driving.

I bought this auto with 120,000 miles on it. Very well maintained and perfect inside. The paint does chip very, easy so use the Vin number and buy a paint mark up from Toyota to cover the small spots which make them hard to see. Yes, the car would smoke for a few seconds after sitting for more than 24 hours. Use Lucas oil treatment at oil changes to stop this, it works. The car was drove 5000 miles, before the additive, and never used a drop and never used any thereafter. Getting 23.5 in town and 30 on the highway driving 75- 80. A very good car with small curable problems. Would buy it again it the opportunity presented itself and I needed an auto. TEXAS

I hated this car when I first bought it new in 2005. My previous car was purchased new in 1995 and it was a Maxima with a six cylinder engine and five speed manual transmission and I kept it until I bought this Camry. It had 229,000 miles and it was a lot more fun to drive. It took me a while to get used to my Camry with a four cylinder engine and an automatic transmission and a lot of my friends teased me over this car. I used the Camry for my business and used to drive it a lot so I wanted better gas mileage. Anyway, 12 years later and with 146,500 miles and climbing I would still drive it cross country and know there would be no problems. It does smoke when I first start it if it sits for a few days and I read online that the valve seals leak (smokes for about 5 seconds) which causes the smoke but it is never down very much oil when I change it at 5,000 miles. Some people have complained about the paint but my battleship grey color has stood up very well. Anyway, it is a basic car and boring by many standards but it runs great. The maintenance has been two batteries, I change the oil every 5,000 miles, tires and I've changed the transmission oil and coolant at 70,000 mile intervals. Also the front brakes were changed and the rear brakes are original. The exhaust, water pump, timing chain, tranny, engine, radio etc. are original. With that said, it has been a great reliable car. Update, it is now almost July, 2017 and the car has 150,130 miles and still has no issues. I have decided to sell it as I want something new. If anyone is interested let me know at 904-834-1120. NADA book value is $5,225 and I will sell it for less, asking $4,500. Still a great reliable car. It is sold.
