Let's face it buyinh a hybrid is all about gas mileage. I have had my 2012 XLE for approx. 1.5 months and I have driven nearly 1000 miles. The car came with a full tank and when I filled up, the odometer read 672. That's 49 MPG with combined city/hwy driving (primarily city). That's also 20% better than advertised! The 2nd tank is not getting quite as good, so far 47.6 MPG. Still quite respectable. The vehicle is designed to get great gas mileage. If you drive it conservatively (slow takeoff, slow stops) you'll probably get similiar results to mine. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the car. Its incredibly quiet, has plenty of power when needed and has all the luxury I need.

After over 7 years & 40,000 local miles, continues to be a solid and reliable car. Cosmetically, holding up very well. Only issue is the ride, which is uncomfortable on longer trips...hard seat bottom. I hear the newer models have a more compliant ride. My wife drives this car mainly around town. She has a very heavy foot...on the gas, off the gas. Averaging 32 mpg after 28,000 miles. When I drive it on trips, I get much better mileage, over 40mp. Even though its over 3 years old, it feels, looks and drives like new. g. I'm pretty tall and large (6'2", 240 lbs), but this car fits me extremely well (no sunroof, thankfully). Electronic steering assist does not give great feedback, but it surprisingly makes the front wheel drive feel very solid and absolutely neutral...no FWD steering torque. Engines' integration is absolutely flawless and the transmission is seamless. My only issue is the ride...its pretty taught...not Mercedes taught, but harsher than that. I attribute it to the high air pressures that the tires carry, and which are monitored by the air pressure monitoring devices. I may disable them and drive the tires with a few less pounds. This is a very competent, solid car and is a screaming value. Would I buy it again? Absolutely! 2022...still a great car! Probably the last car my wife will ever own...by her choice!

I was researching new cars for many months; primarily the new Fusion hybrid. I was at a dealership all ready to order the titanium hybrid and for some reason they couldn't get in the order banks. So I left, ready to return in a few days. Not sure what made me have a change of heart, but I started looking at the Camry hybrids. So I took one for a test drive (I rented one back in June for a vacation and liked it) but I don't remember it being this comfortable. The Fusion was gorgeous, but the cabin was too confining. The Camry just felt all-around much better. So at the end of the day I bought a fully loaded brand new XLE for over $4000 less than sticker with 0.9% and I couldn't be happier!
Great car. Amazing ride quality and comfort.

I bought this car 2 months ago as so far, I love it. Road noise is almost zero and the ride quality is great.The first thing anyone notices about this car is how quiet it is. The front grill has been redesigned for this model and it does look like an acura from some angles. Build I have been getting an average of 38 mpg on highways and local roads combined and it is pretty good considering that the temperature here in kansas city has been hovering in the high 30's since I bought the car. I expect it to get a little more mileage once the weather gets warmer. Accelerating is not mind-blowing but if one turns off eco-mode the car does start jumping.

Initial review: All in all a solid reliable car. My second Camry, I and also have had two Priuses, so I'm quite lfamiliar with Toyota's hybrid drivetrain. Averages 36 mpg. 120,000 miles, mechanically trouble free, replaced tires, otherwise just routine service. Trouble spots: BUMPER--side edges of front bumper have repeatedly popped out, ( breaking at their attachment tabs), dealer unwilling to fix as a warranty item. I finally got a body shop to glue them in place a few months ago and so far they've stayed put. CONTROLS-Heating and air controls are small and hard to operate ( especially fan switch and air direction switch). SEAT MATERIAL-Although I have top of line XLE with leather and ultra suede seats, the ultra suede cloth has worn poorly, gotten dirty, is hard to clean, and now makes the interior look shabby and cheap. No rough or dirty treatment of interior on my part. NOISE--heavy acceleration creates a lot of engine noise. DEALER MAINTENANCE COSTS- Dealer service costs are high. For example, for the 120,000 service they quoted $700 but I had it done at reputable non-Toyota shop for $200. 2016 UPDATE: now with 140,000 miles and no trouble--two sets of tires, one horn and one headlight, had a body shop fix front bumper by gluing it back in place, but no other maintenance needed, not even brakes or spark plugs. MPG a little less than at start, now about 35 combined. Never had a more trouble-free car, despite the minor design flaws mentioned in the first review.
