V-8 smooth
Just bought the car. Nice ride. Avg about 20.1 (set cruise @65.00 sharp). Combined driving gets about 18.2 MPG. Computer updates the MPG every 10 sec. Very smooth. Quiet interior. The power seats are nice. Wish side airbags come standard. No body lean around the curve at 40~45 MPH. Drove thru a heavy rain storm and can feel the traction control sets in right away. A lot of room when rear seats folded down. Storage areas throughout the car make it really neat.
Best Vehicle I've Ever Owned
I just passed my 3 year anniversary with my 2006 4Runner Sport and the build quality on this vehicle continues to amaze me. (knock on wood) To date I've not had a single repair item, the only service work I've had done are oil changes and regularly scheduled maintenance. Totally awesome even by Toyota standards! For a mid-size SUV the 4Runner is as good as it gets with a strong V6 motor, adequate mileage, great styling and comfort and the awesome reliability that I previously mentioned. For the first time in a long time I'm 3 years into a vehicle and I'm not thinking about unloading it for the next bright shiny thing that catches my attention. It's a beautiful thing :) !!
Best SUV By Far!
This is the best SUV overall. Easy and fun to drive. Great power, reliability, and build quality. Previously owned a range rover, which was just expensive crap. This vehicle has it all.
bigger and better
Had a Highlander ,and was impressed. Thought I'd try something a little larger and found the 4- Runner to be just the right fit. Very roomy and the power to boot in a V-6. Now that gas has gone down it is very good on the pocket.Overall very pleased with the vehicle.
2006 Toyota SR-5 V-8 is by far the best car
Buy a Toyota 4Runner with total confidence. This 4R has been totally awesome. I have not had one single unscheduled repair. I have changed the oil and replaced the battery and tires as needed. In May of 2015 I replaced the timing belt, water pump, struts, brakes, rotors and spark plugs. I have the big V-8, but get a consistent 22.0 mpg city/highway. This car is roomy, comfortable and is an outstanding travel car. I cannot think of one single negative thing to say about this 2006 4R-SR5. Every day I see tons of these models on the road, in spite of this car being 12 years old. No one want to get rid of this model, and why should they? I salute Toyota for a job well done on this one.
