Used 2006 Toyota 4Runner Consumer Reviews
The Best
This is a great SUV. Looks good, drives even better, and has lots of power. I use this car for work and go off road on the weekends- Also drives great in snow (4x4, AWD)
Mileage
We were expecting better gas mileage than the Ford Expedition we sold, but it's almost the same. Overall the vehicle is very well built and designed. A 6 cylinder should be more fuel savvy than a V-8 though.

ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS!!
I looked at the Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, used Acura MDX's, and a few sedans. Then I waited to see what changes were to be made to the 2006 4Runner. Although relatively subtle changes were made, it was enough to sell me. I am very pleased with my 4Runner!
Oh What A Feeling
I love my 4x4 Limited 4Runner. It's a V6 yes, but much more power than my minivan sienna had so I'm happy enough. I have not been this much in love with a vehicle, ever. I still appreciate it and still love driving it after 6 months of ownership. The quality of this vehicle is very high, as well as the value retention. I still want to be driving this vehicle in 10 years and am sure it will still be going strong. The 4Runner V6 has great pickup, gets head-turning looks, and is just plain fun to drive. The Limited has the leather, heated seats, sun roof, dual air stations, the list goes on. My ONE complaint is that there are not enough cup holders in the front seat.
An Easy Decision
It came down to the new Pathfinder or the 4Runner. The Pathfinder is a great ride,V-8 acceleration from a V-6, comfortable interior. But the Toyota seemed to be better built, with higher quality interior materials and a smoother highway ride. The 4Runner also feels lighter and more nimble on pavement thanks in part to the X-REAS suspension which all but eliminates the body roll and pitch that plague a lot of SUVs.
