Used 2005 Toyota 4Runner Consumer Reviews
Quality SUV with a great ride
After one year of ownership I thought it good to provide a review. My 4Runner has been one of the best car purchases to date. After two cross country road trips my family loves this SUV. The ride and performance is exceptional given the size and weight - it drives like a vehicle half the size. V8 Power is awesome and provides excellent acceleration and power with reasonable MPG (18-20 MPG).
Great SUV - keeping for 10 years
This is a great SUV. Just test drive it and compare. It was this or the Pathfinder, and this was far more car for the $$. I plan on driving this for the next 10 years.

1ST 4 Runner Ever
My SUV had 4 miles when purchased. I really enjoy sitting high and seeing the road. I can feel the solidness in the sterring, the brakes the turns and even on a wet day it feels safe in handling. As a female riding this well put together vechicle, I feel safe and secure and the V6 power is the greatest. Respect is the key word when driving, respect other drivers and respect the road, and this vehicle reputation brings all the respect back at it. I love it. I also have a 1996 camry that I would not trade for anything. Thank you Toyota or making a short size feel super sized.
Expected more thought
My first Toyota. I bought it for the resale value, the reputation of Toyota but most of all from the off road reputation of the 4Runner. The ride is excellent the gas mileage sure beats the 15mpg I was getting in my 98 Durango. Looks great and performance is better than I expected from a V-6. The stereo is probably the biggest disappointment for a 2005 I would have thought that with all the interest in music that it would at least be as good if not better that the 98 Durango I traded for it. I have a two-speaker work van that sounds better.
Rock Solid Performer & a Keeper!
Between my wife and I, we have owned many vehicles. If we had to pick "one" to live with from the many...this would be it. Not flashy (frame/ladder design versus newer design) - don't hear much about it in the media and the limited version is a little pricey. However, this is a safe (full compliment of airbags), reliable, go anywhere, do anything (towing, off road or a wedding), solid performer. We plan on owning this one for a long time - and we can because of reliability. We have had no issues besides routine maintenance (brakes, battery, timing belt change). Sad that Toyota no longer offers this rig w/a V8. Will have to look at the Lexus variant when its time to purchase in the future.
