I love this car! The ride and handling are great, the exterior and interior are beautiful, and all of the controls are very user-friendly.

05 SE 4WD V6 AT w/28k miles

I own 3 Toyotas (00,05,06). This is my second 4Runner. I now have 28k miles. The V6 is plenty of power for all uses including towing my 2500# job trailer. I average 19.8 mpg combined Hwy/City. It handles nice, is silky smooth, but it is on a truck platform so after 150-200 miles you need to get out and walk. If you drive a lot of HWY miles you might consider a Highlander, Sequoia or even the Honda Pilot. I got the 4runner over the Pilot because of looks but sometimes I wonder about my decision after long trips. If you drive a lot of off road and local, the 4Runner is a great choice. I hope the brakes are as good as my 2000 4Runner as they have lasted 103k and still have 40% lining left!

4-Runner Sport 4wd V8

Vehicle is a pleasure to drive. 6,000 miles and not a problem one. Have gotten several compliments on what a sharp looking vehicle it is. Really like the looks & ride of the Sport Edition. Added a Yakima basket to the roof and really adds to storage capacity on longer trips. For a V8 I'm pleased with the mpg. I get between 17 & 20 on the highway depending on terrain & how loaded I am and about 16 to 17 in town. Shopped & researched a lot before purchasing and not disappointed with my selection. Would buy one again.

Well, I've waited about 5,000 miles to write this. I love the truck! The looks of the Sport Ed. is awesome. Love the 6-spoke rims! Smooth, solid, quiet ride. This thing handles excellent for an SUV and the steering feel is so tight! Brakes are good, V6 is pretty quick. Gas mileage has been about 19-20 MPG, but my last trip with 4 snowboards on the rack got me ~16 mpg. Only driven in a few inches of snow, but it handled good. Can't wait to get rid of the Dunlops tho. Best vehicle buying decision EVER!

Toyota 4-Runner Rates Top Score

My experience with the 4-runner goes back 16 years. My original 4-runner is an '88 with 191,000 miles and still running beautifully. I have never owned a more reliable vehicle. My new 4- runner was purchased as the body on the old 4-runner has started rusting out. When sitting in the driver's seat of the new 4-runner you know you have a product that is very safe and mechanically is made better and lasts longer than most other vehicles. I have owned bmw's, ford's, chevy's, rented dodge, gmc and none compare to the Toyota 4-runner. It is #1 in my book. I have nothing negative to say about it. Nothing else tops the Toyota all around. It won't disappoint you. Buy one
