Used 2001 Toyota 4Runner SUV Consumer Reviews
A Real Pleasure
This is my third lease. In 7 years I have not lost a day's work because of mechanical reasons. Reliability is a 10 in my book. Great over all vehicle.
Happiest 4 runner owner
After buying my first 4 runner in 1994, I became a confirmed SUV owner. What a fabulous car. Moved out west with my 2001, handled beautifully on the 4 day drive west to California. Now after 5 yrs of West Coast Driving, many trips to Vegas, San Francisco, all I can say is what a road car, other then 2nd set of tires, and minor maintainance. All SUVs should be like this. I love this ride. Now it's time for my niece to share the car. Bravo Toyota.

4Runner Rocks
I purchased this vehicle new in 2001 and it has never given me any reason to get rid of it. It is tough, rugged, reliable, dependable and good looking. It does not go off road very much but I have full confidence in it when I do. The horsepower on this engine started lagging at 45K at which time I decided to have the TRD Supercharger installed and that made all the difference in the world. Even though the gas mileage stayed the same, I get more bang for my buck and I fly across the Colorado passes! All the features from the driving lights to running boards to rear wiper are convenient. Interior is well designed and ergo-friendly. Handles well too.
Love My Runner
Rain, snow, sleet, and I95 traffic, my runner just keeps on getting it!
No Surprises, Quality and Reliability
My wife drives it 90% of the times, and get this...no complains! Usually with most of anything else, it's, too big, too small, not confortable enough, bla bla. The 4Runner is a hit. Sometimes I drive it on weekends, and find it quite enjoyable, good response, and confortable. At times, I use it to tow my quad or commercial mower with a good size trailer...plenty of torque for a V6. Have had it for about 4 yrs, and it's just like when we got it, just a litte older. My wife did get in an accident about 6 month ago, some moron decided to come in the wrong lane to avoid my wife carring 3 children, 7 to 15. Snapped the rear axel in half, spun 180 deg, caused $7K of damage, everyone safe.
