Used 2008 Suzuki Forenza Sedan Consumer Reviews
Rough and Tumble
I bought my little 2004 Suzuki Forenza for $1200 from a used car lot in 2014, with 163k miles and a wreck on the car fax, to give me a gas saver alternative to my 1978 GMC C1500. Bought this car knowing the water pump was out, and it would over heat if not driven carefully. Replaced the water pump and timing belt for $120 and changed it myself, and proceeded to be a typical young 20s driver and drove the absolute garbage out of it. I jumped railroad tracks, took it off road, took on the interstate at 100mph, raced friends and even towed a 1993 Ford F150 about 10 miles with it. I couldn't kill this car! I carried a jump pack with me after about 4 months because the ORIGINAL batter finally stopped holding a charge. Eventually, my negligence got the best of me, the transmission started slipping, which would have been fine except I passed somebody and lost 4th gear entirely, over revved the engine and blew the timing set. I mean there were pieces of cam gears all over the engine bay. Scrapped it for $86, towed, and called it a day. I just hope I gave that car a good swan song.

It's been a great car
I have loved this car. I do wish it had a few more features like cruise control and alloy wheels but I am very satisfied. It has 5000 miles when I bought it in 2008 and I've only had 2 problems. I had to replace the oxygen sensor about 4 years ago and replace the valve cover gasket in 2019. It rides smooth but at some speeds like 60 mph it feels like the wheels need alignment buy when I hit 70 plus it goes back to a smooth ride. Overall I am very satisfied that I bought this car. It had 2 minor recalls. I do have to say if I knew Suzuki Auto USA was leaving America I probably wouldn't have bought it but still it's been a good car. I'm not sure I selected the exact model to review ie: 4A ect.

Best Deal Ever
We bought this for my wife, after looking at numerous cars and sitting behind the wheel, she like this the best. She was happy with the styling, performance and handling. No other manufactor could come near the price and the warranty is great. I have owned Suzukis' before and I'm very happy with their reliabilty. She wanted the sunfoof model but they were sold out.
I like mine.
I bought my 2008 Suzuki Forenza last October with 30,400 miles on the odometer. My car has the 2.0 liter 4cyl and 5 speed manual transmission. I use the car daily for a 33 mile commute. I am pleased with the gas mileage I get. I am averaging 29-30 mpg and my commute is includes mixed city/country driving. The car now has about 36,800 miles. A few things have required repair - two new rear struts, new drive belt on the engine and new valve gasket on the engine. All of these items were repaired at no cost to me under the warranty.
Airbags did not work on impact
I got hit by a person driving a Chev Tahoe on my passenger side and got pushed into the highway concrete barrier. I got some stiches, cuts and bruises. Had to be cut out of car with the jaws of life. Interesting thing and concern was that none of the front airbags or seat side airbags deployed.
