I paid too much...
I love my GT wagon. It is spunky and fun to drive. I traded in my Mazda MPV and felt like I had a hot sports car for a while... I kept forgetting I was driving a station wagon. My son kept saying, "Your car is fast, do you know how fast your car is, mom?" Yes, I do.
Like a pet
We loved this car so much that we gave it a name (soobie). Until we bought our new 2004 Legacy, it was the best car we ever owned. It was economical (5 speed), reliable (few repairs in over 130,000 miles) and safe (I got rear-ended at a stop light. The car that hit me had to be flat bedded. I drove to work.) I eventually sold this car to a friend, reluctantly, and when we heard that it was eventually totaled in an accident, we almost cried.
Best Of The Best
Bought this vehicle used with 200,000 miles. It now has almost 230,000. Was told the transmission was going out. Was able to drive it for 6 months before having to replace. Put in a used transmission and have no problems since. Ive owned Chevys, dodges, fords, and toyotas. This is one the most reliable vehicles Ive had so far.
Horrible!!!
You would think after decades of making cars Subaru would figure some things out! I had my car for a little over a year seemed to be in good condition, I drove it safe, and babied it and the head gasket goes on it! This is a problem with Subaru's and my car only had 80,000 miles on it!! Unbelievable. Anyway buyer beware, if the head gasket goes on it, its gona be an expensive fix and wow just wow. Anyway I guess there is not just one great car out there.. well if there is I haven't found it yet.. STEER CLEAR of this one though.

Best Car Ever!
145000 miles with only the oft- experienced alterntor problem for which I was promptly reimbursed. Only other complaints are the need for new brakes and/or resurfaced rotors every 30000 miles or so (but maybe that's my fault?), and the dashboard lights going out one by one. The AWD inspires deserved confidence. Handles great! Plenty of room. Comfortable enough!
