OK, till 130,000 miles
After 130,000 miles watch out, water pump, oil pump, engine seals etc... frequent engine repairs. I thought the 2.2 was tried and true. The engine just went totally kaput at 150,000 (siezed camshaft). If you think perhaps that maintenance is an issue, my Hyndai excel (at $5000) went 170,000 miles.
Good Car So Far
I bought this car six months ago and I have put 10,000 miles on it since then. The dealership that sold it to me had replaced most of the engine, but the only problem I have had with it is the water pump, which was incorrectly installed. It excels on the winter roads in slush, ice, and deep snow. It's good for showing my small dogs and going on long drives. So far, it has been a great car!
97SubLegWagon
Runs very well in all conditions. May need to use premium fuel to gain speed quickly. This vehicle hauls a great amount of items, and a fair amount of weight with no problems. Though it has a low wheel base, it still manages to ride well over heavy snow.
Read the reviews, don't buy a boxer
Car was OK for a few years, then lights in some of the dash went out, and on the heated seat switches (but only on high?). Brakes go often and cost $1000 for rotors and pads. Struts feel like they are bad but have not confirmed. Water pump, cam seals, head gaskets etc. have been replaced. Now, like MANY other reviewers, the head gaskets blew out and I am looking at $2,000 to fix them. The front end bushings are also shot - $400. What gives? This car is driven lightly for under 100K miles and is garaged!
Satisfied in Maine
Excellent in the snow. Solid feel. Corners well. Great traction. Comfortable drivers seats for long haul.
