So much wrong with this car.

Where to start with this car… first off I got the new 24 a month ago it’s a fleet vehicle for my company. The cabin air system can’t defrost the front windshield without being full blast because the defrost is centre to the window and does not reach the driver side. The auto air system in the winter will always have heat on no matter what temperature you seem to set it to. The steering wheel is not centred to the drivers portion of the car and there’s more dashboard to the left and there is the right making the whole thing seems slightly off by a few inches also makes things uncomfortable and long drives. Lane departure system cannot tell the difference between lane lines, snow, or even different coloured pavement. turn it off it is garbage. Adaptive cruise control cannot tell the difference between a car, and if you are coming to the bottom of the hill. There is no way to turn off adaptive cruise control. Additionally, you have to turn cruise control on every time you restart the car. Have the digital speedometer on? well say goodbye to that if you have a phone call. for whatever reason Subaru has decided that the only place to tell you that you’re on the phone is the driver console. there is no way to turn this off so as long as you’re on the phone, you will have no digital speedometer. Speaking of the centre consul. It’s so poorly place. That’s if you’re either too short or too tall you can’t see half of it. Even if you adjust the steering wheel. The windshield is a magnet for rocks. There are 20 of us who got this car, part of the company fleet and within a month 3 of us had giant cracks along the windshield. The windshield is at an angle that doesn’t deflect. The rocks rather destroys the window. The rear window defrost is so weak that it cannot melt ice apparently, so if you get ice build up in the winters as you drive , tough, you gotta pull over and scrape it off. Subaru has decided to dedicate entire giant button in the centre consul to turning off traction control, or changing to one of the three built-in performance modes. This takes up a large amount of space giving you very little room for drink holder. The hilarious thing is that on the steering wheel, there is dedicated buttons already in place for these modes. You cannot have more than one phone connected to your car at a time. It’s simply can’t fathom the idea of switching between two active devices. Automatically if you get a call on one phone, you have to manually switch the connected phones over if you wanna to take that call in the car. I’ve had this car for a month and I’ve already found these problems. I’m sure there’s more I’m sure more come up as I continue to drive I can’t fathom how anybody who calls themselves an engineer but any effort into this there’s so much wrong, and if I could give a zero star I would.

There is not enough storage in the front. Cup holders are awkward. The console is very deep but not very wide the glove box is not big enough to hold anything but the manuals. Noisy when starting up. The engine turn off when stopping is sporadic and annoying. Hard to see out the back window due to cargo cover and headrests and I have the drivers seat up as high as possible. So back up camera is necessary for that reason alone. Find the lane departure annoying and have turned that off for in town driving. MPG is 20 after 600 miles of driving. Would not buy again. There is supposed to be a revamp on the 2025. Live in fl and you are unable to put any tint on the front windshield due to the driving assist camera. The front windshield did not come at all tinted so need to be conscious of applying sunscreen when going on longer drives in daylight hours.

Wish had kept my 2011 Honda CR-V LX

On a positive note, the 2024 Subaru Forester drives smoothly and quietly. But that’s about it for this driver. -- Honda’s headlights came on only when I turned them on. Parking lights were nice and dim. Subaru’s headlights automatically come on full when it’s put into gear, forward or reverse. So can’t back into my driveway or pull forward out of it anymore at night without headlights blasting my neighbors across the street. There’s not a way to turn off this auto headlight “feature”. Subaru’s parking lights are also almost as bright as full headlights. -- Honda didn’t have a computer screen in the center dashboard. Subaru’s computer screen doesn’t go all the way off when the car is shut off. The screen is blank, but it’s still gray, so still on. The only way to turn the screen all the way off is to press and hold the left knob below the screen a couple times. Only then does it go all the way to black and off. In addition, the computer screen, even if it’s been turned off, automatically comes on to show the rear view camera when in reverse. There’s not a way to turn this auto “feature” off if you’d rather use your eyes. -- Honda had much better front storage -- 2 glove compartments, a couple slots in the center dashboard, floor space between the two front seats, a fold-down shelf of a middle console so storage space on the floor below it. Subaru has only 1 glove compartment, and a relatively small lidded compartment in the center console. -- Honda’s gas cap was on the driver side. Much more convenient than the Subaru’s on the passenger side. -- Honda had tinted windows from the back seats to the cargo area. Subaru doesn’t. -- Honda’s heat and a/c vents were more versatile. Both the driver and passenger middle vents could be directed toward the driver. Subaru’s middle vent on the passenger side is blocked by the frame around the computer screen, so can only be pointed toward the passenger side or straight ahead. The Honda needed a lot of work, but based on what its advantages were over the Subaru, it would have been worth it.

I bought this 2024 Subaru Forester and The first 200 Miles was a nightmare. This engine on and engine off at stop lights is a scam!! They get to claim 28 city 33 hwy. If you disable the auto start stop nightmare feature, your gas mileage is about half of advertised MPG. THE BIG LIE!!!

First time Subaru owner. I feel so safe driving it daily. Easy to get in and out of. Good on gas. Can’t wait to see how it is in the snow.
