Used 2014 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews
Tube of Glue no Subaru
Never has such a young car needed so many premature replacements. For a time I was a fan of Subaru, there are too many other viable options at the same price point. I'll never own another nor would accept poor workmanship through & through from a vehicle that touts reliability. It's only reliability is that more parts will need replaced, displace yours as soon as you can.

My first Subaru, very impressed.
This is my first Subaru and my first AWD vehicle. I have driven other AWD cars before from Ford on test drives but nothing beats Subaru's AWD system. There are youtube videos showing why this is and why their system is head and shoulders better than other's. -Gas Mileage: I will report back on this again after more miles are put on it. But right now driving around the city running errands I average 26.7 MPG. Well within the advertised range. -Powertrain: I am shocked at how fast this vehicle accelerates off the line. Because of the CVT transmission it is able to perform like V6 powered cars I have owned in the past. Plenty of power. Much more than our 2010 Chevy Equinox.

Love this new model but MPG not as advertised
My 3rd Subaru, but first Forester. Never bought before because it was too small. I am 6' tall, not huge, but this is the first Forester model I feel comfortable both in front and back. My teenage boys are very comfy in the backseat, and they are my height. My only complaint is the gas mileage. I get 20-21 mpg when the local EPA MPG is 24. That's a big difference, and I am not driving like a leadfoot ! I ease off on gas and coast to stop signs and red lights, and that's the only way I got close to 21mpg. My much larger outback gets about 19-20 locally, so only a 1 mpg improvement with a smaller Subaru.
A Very Satisfied 2014 Forester Owner
This has been a great car. The 6 speed with the 2.5L is a nice combo. I haven't noticed any excessive oil consumption. I change it every 3000 miles without adding any oil. I don't believe in the 7500 mile oil changes. Perhaps that is why I never noticed any consumption. Asked if I would buy this car again, the answer is YES...but I would get leather, not light fabric interior. It stains very easily. The 6 speed is great, but the clutch took some getting used to....very weeny hydraulic. All in all a very good car!

Basic AWD transportation
Probably the worst car I have owned because competition has made big improvements and this Subaru lags behind now. Ride is ok but bouncy and jittery on bad roads. Steering has poor feedback and handling is scary at 80mph+. Holding the steering wheel feels like driving an economy $12k car. Just poor quality plastics - I advise to get the leather wrapped steering wheel as an option. CVT is working rough after after driving on ice with awd engaged. Will take it in for a checkup.
