Reliable
I love this car - it is dependable, roomy enough for my needs, and I have had no mechanical problems. I drive A LOT! I have 135,000+ miles in 3 years. Handles great is snow and on inclines. My only complaint: loud cabin noise, especially when using the Bluetooth phone.

55 mile an hr head on collision 10/30/2023
We just had a head on collision with another vehicle that was pushed into our lane. My 2018 Crosstrek save our lives. The engine did an accordion when it hit head on. Air bags deployed and my injuries are partially collapsed lung and broken collar bone, husband has a broken foot and finger and we are very very sore. Windshield stayed intact and we were not cut at all. Subaru Mckinney will be our friends for life. We should be dead. Very thankful

Drive at your own risk!
Bought a new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and the defogger doesn't work. Dealership said nothing was wrong with it. When put into gear, car lurches, and jerks. Dealership said this is normal. Acceleration and braking issues. Dealership said this is normal. Horrible. My first and last Subaru. No wonder the Korean cars outrank than the Japanese ones. This is one expensive piece of garbage.

Not as happy as before
My crosstalk is 4 1/2 years old. It runs like it is much older i can't believe that my first major oil change was at 30 000 miles. U gave gad a few issues with my car in the past and took so long for the service to look at it and fix it . I have never of waiting that long for a major oil change. If things to not improve I will not get another Subaru.

Best vehicle I've ever owned
I've had my Crosstrek a year now and no problems whatsoever. Fits me like it was designed for me. It's safe, reliable, rugged, comfortable and very nice to look at. I've towed a loaded uhaul trailer with it with no problems. I take it camping/kayaking. It's solid and very well-built. I don't agree with the Edmunds testers regarding sluggishness, my car responds wonderfully and I have never had trouble merging or passing. LOVE my car!!!

This WAS a Great Vehicle
It drove well, rode well, had a great sound system, got good gas mileage too. But we sold it and our lexus 350 and got a new 2021 Toyota Venza - much more comfortable, 40 MPG, AWD too.

Love my orange Crosstrek
I have been doing a lot of research on the Subaru Crosstrek and knew I wanted an orange one. SUVs are a little too much car for me and this is the perfect compromise. Roomy, powerful, sporty and safe. As soon as I test drove it I knew It was my car.

Might keep this one longer than any of the rest!
Update April 12.2025. 113,000 miles in and still happy with my Crosstrek. Keeping up with all recommend services to help ensure I get through to retirement (7-9 years from now). This vehicle was a very good choice. October 13, 2022 update: Still very happy with my Crosstrek. Fuel economy is almost 30 mpg! Yep, keeping this one for the long haul! So I trade in cars not as often as some people, but probably more than others. Shortest ownership was 16 months (2016 Acura TLX), longest was my 2008 Honda CRV EX. That one made it a little over 5 years! I had my 2015 Toyota Rav 4 for a few years (traded my 2016 TLX for it in 2017). I was fine with it but yearned for the safety features and AWD option which my Rav4 didn't have. Found my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Limited and I have to say I am excited every time I get into it! Now, admittedly I've just had it for a week BUT I am enjoying all the safety features it offers, along with the Apple CarPlay. You may have heard others complain about engine pep but I'm more than happy with the performance. I have yet to feel uncomfortable or insecure about it's ability to get me where I need to go, no matter what the traffic situation. Looking forward to five years from now to see if I still feel the same! At this time, I can't imagine I would not enjoy it as much as I do today.

Smooth and Safe
Subarus are built to be the safest thing in the road and the Crosstrek is a perfect example.
2018 Crosstrek
My wife and several friends who are about 5’ in height find the Crosstrek is easy to adjust to fit their smaller size. Easy to drive with CVT and adaptive cruise control. Lots of cargo space.

Great gas mileage and SUV features
The Crosstrek is much lighter than other SUV offerings from most makers, which leads to gas mileage of up to 33 mpg highway. It won't tow much, but the roof isn't too high for loading kayaks comfortably, either. At 6’1”, I'm very comfortable driving and the clearance is very welcome. I have the old man safety features like lane deviation warning and adaptive cruise control, and these work well. I am getting old. Space is plentiful for me, though obviously less than for a bigger, heavier model. The Crosstrek is fairly car-like in how it drives, though it won't corner like my old sports car. It doesn't feel like a truck but can act like one when necessary. Highly recommended.

Slick little crossover
I like it but it's a bit small for me.
Funny automatic transmission
Definitely Subaru need spend more time on developments automatic transmission configurations, it is a very strange behavior when shifting up to third, fourth or even fifth in a very low speed and revolutions, the car makes funny moves, similar when you drive bad a manual transmission
