I replaced my 96 Ford Probe GT with a lowered (TRD springs) dark blue, 5- speed Scion tC. Its perfect, quiet, gets great mpg, and looks the part. Everyone that has looked at it thinks I made a great purchase and they are all right on the money. My first 331 miles netted 28.4 mpg. It should get better with a good break-in to! I also had heated seats and floor mats added but nothing else. I suggest you look at it if your in this market because you get Toyota build quality and some great looks to boot. Also with it being a hatchback you can't believe how much stuff you can get in one to. Buy one they rock!

I have owned this car for two years now and I am ready to write a review. The low sloping roof reminds me of the custom 1950s mercs. The monster sunroofs add to the attitude. As far as performance goes, I have no complaints. The manual transmission model comes with a 4:20 final gear ratio. (them's drag racing gears). The 5 speed can take a little bit to get used to with the electronic throttle control, but once you get it figured out you will own the road. To sum it up, this is the best car I have ever owned. If this car were $5,000 more, I would pay it and still be just as content. As far as fuel economy goes.I have averaged 40 mpg on long trips at 65 mph. Much better than advertised.

The 2006 Scion tC comes with great standard features and is fun to drive. I've had mine for just over four months and I can't imagine having bought any other car. I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision.

I got my 2006 Scion tC about 3 months ago and couldn't be happier. I traded in a 2000 Mercury Mystique, called the poor man's BMW. There's nothing out there in the entry level compact car. I researched the Mazda 3, Ford Focus, Nissan Sentra, and Honda Civic (no Korean cars, though), and the best bang for my buck was the tC. Did you know they're monospec? It means there is only one base model, but... The base model comes with power windows both with one touch activation, panorama roof and moonroof, mp3 player, 160hp and 163 lb/ft torque, and best of all... Toyota reliability! Only complaint is the aft panel in the roof sometimes rattles on bad roads, but what do you expect from a $17,000 car?

The Scion tC is a great car. It's agile, quick, and sporty. The rear seats have plenty of room and they recline and fold forward for more space. The standard Pioneer stereo is nice, it needs more watts though. The glass top is cool, not many cars have that. This car needs a 6-speed transmission not a 5-speed, unless you drive 55 you will not see that 30 mpg on the highway. 70 mph runs you @ 3,500 rpm. This car has lots of torque down low, and a forgiving clutch.
