When i first purchased the car i was excited and it seemed like a pretty sporty car until i used it for a few months and realize it really isnt. it is sluggish and in the manual you are in 5th gear befor 45 or else it just feels strange driving around. i just want a car that i dont have to shift gears before i am halfway through an intersection. build quality is a joke. over time i have found at least 5 different rattles from all over the car. oh and my rear hatch handle straight up came off. repairs cost over 300 if not under warranty anymore and is a well known problem that scion refuses to deal with.

Got this last year for my daughter with 93k on it. Besides the through-the-roof insurance for this car,....Exhaust fell apart had to replace, visor swivel gave out had to replace, back hatch panel where release is is coming off have not replaced yet, air conditioner quit working had to fix, too lean sensor CEL went off at 100k, replaced air/fuel sensor and intake gasket seal, cigarette lighter fuse was blown when I got it.

Most Unreliable New Car I've Owned

It took around 7 weeks to get this car not the week Toyota had as a target. The car was fine until the cold weather set in. The hatch latch refused to latch in sub 20 degree temperatures. It took two trips to the dealer to get this fixed. I had to drive 70 miles on the expressway with an open hatch because the dealer didn't believe me the first time. The other day my wife was stranded at work 35 miles from home due to a dead battery. She was able to jump start it and get to the dealer. The alternator failed at 11,000 miles.I've never owned a car with this many electrical problems in my life.I was looking for an inexpensive, relable, sportycar for my wife.I sure didn't get it in the tC.

The storage room in this car is great. I had four 16" wheels and tires from my truck in the back once - no problem! Love the reclining back seat. The front seats have good support, but the leg room in the front is cramped. The stereo sounds best when it is turned up loud. The power is amazing for a car of this type and it is fun to drive.
