Used 1994 Saturn S-Series Consumer Reviews
Great First Car!!!
I loved this car! I bought it off someone in my family and had it for a year before a truck hit me and it was totalled. This was the perfect first car for me... great gas mileage, EASIEST standard to use, good accelaration, sporty feel, etc. I did however have to put in some money for some repairs at 150,000 miles. Needed to replace entire exhaust over 1 year, pricey brake job, engine problem gave me 50 miles less per tank of gas. (Never did figure out what was wrong). Would have loved to keep the car for another 4 years (if it hadn't been totalled).
Good Car
Been a good car for me. Bought with 57,000 miles and now has 109,000. Repairs/replacements: fuel regulator ($200), value seal ($75), battery ($50), tires ($300)and muffler ($90). The resale is disappointing though.
Bulletproof Car
Bought my '94 Saturn SL in June '96 with 40k miles. The car had a rebuilt title as it had been in a major accident. I was hoping to get 60k relatively dependable miles out of it, but I've gotten much, much more. Today, the car has 200k miles and pretty much runs/looks the same as the day I bought it. Love the plastic body panels and paint job - looks like a new car still. I've had regular maintenance costs only. Great reliable transportation with good fuel efficiency. Highly recommended!
Great car!
I inherited this car from a family member about 4 years ago. She is my first car, and I just love her! She has held up to 4 years of heavy city driving, and one cross-country move, without a complaint. Some particularly cold mornings (below zero), the heat takes a while to kick in, but that's to be expected on an older vehicle. This is a great car as a starter, inexpensive to own, insurance cost is very low, and she's ridiculously easy to drive!
300,000 miles and still rolling.
I bought this car for $5000 with 100,000 miles in my last year of high school. I drove it thru college (5 years) and to my first job. Both of my younger sisters have put a couple of years in with this thing and it's still going strong. Gotta watch the oil though, it does burn it up.
