Great First Car!!!
I loved this car! I bought it off someone in my family and had it for a year before a truck hit me and it was totalled. This was the perfect first car for me... great gas mileage, EASIEST standard to use, good accelaration, sporty feel, etc. I did however have to put in some money for some repairs at 150,000 miles. Needed to replace entire exhaust over 1 year, pricey brake job, engine problem gave me 50 miles less per tank of gas. (Never did figure out what was wrong). Would have loved to keep the car for another 4 years (if it hadn't been totalled).
Good Car
Been a good car for me. Bought with 57,000 miles and now has 109,000. Repairs/replacements: fuel regulator ($200), value seal ($75), battery ($50), tires ($300)and muffler ($90). The resale is disappointing though.
No worries car
For Sure. No worries with this car whatsoever. Clutch is a bit weak after 150k miles But I've never had a major repair in the 4 years I've owned it. I purchased the car from the original owner, and they hadn't had to fix anything on it either. I'm even quite lazy with oil changes and the car never breaks. Even if you don't have power steering the car is easy to turn. And since the engine is tiny you gain more POWER without power steering! A great car. I may buy a second in the same year. No dents. RESPECT THE PLASTIC! I've been in several fender benders, and total repair costs in both accidents haven't even gone above $300 for new fenders!
This is a GM?
I just bought this little car about 6 months ago, with 222,000 on the odo(all highway). I just rolled 225,000, and as of yet have had no problems. The only thing wrong when I bought it was the passenger motor mount was bad. So after changing that and a full tune-up, I have to say I'm amazed how well it runs for a domestic of this mileage. Great on gas, fun to drive, and the interior actually makes sense. I think I'll hold on to it while, even if it ends up needing a motor eventually.
1994 SC2 - great car
I had the 5 speed, and loved it. I think the back seat is a bit uncomfortable for tall people, and would like to have had cupholders in the front instead of the back, or at least in addition to the back, but that was my only real complaint.
