Used 2007 Saturn Aura XE 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
Unbeatable Value
An absolutely terrific car. I love it more every day. Wise move to put the Honda & Camry on the lot, as Aura has absolutely nothing to hide. For what you are paying this car is awesome.
Not so sure
After seeing the 2007 Aura won the "North American Car of the Year" award I thought "How can I go wrong". I traded in my 2003 Chevy Impala and in a year have had the car in for service 5 times. The second day I had the car I ended up having it towed into the service center because the transmission was missing and speedometor was bouncing around. Ended up being a speed sensor switch had to be replaced.
I may never get rid of it
I bought it in October 2008, as a 2007 model demo, and got what I thought was a very good price on it. It has the 3.5L V-6. The price of gas was high at the time, and GM was in big financial trouble, but I've mostly been a GM buyer. I was planning to buy a Pontiac G6, but my wife persuaded me to buy the Aura, as it was bigger and felt more substantial than the G-6. Other than a minor engine repair ~$500 (I can't remember what was wrong, but it was a Ford Dealer off I-75 in a small town in Michigan that fixed it) at almost exactly 100,000 miles, I have had no problems with it, only regular maintenance. Only the most minor or rust on the right rear wheel well. It still drives very well, the air conditioning still works, and it still has lots of power. I now put only about 3,000 miles a year on it, the odometer is at about 114,500. At this rate I may never get rid of it. It was car of the year in 2007, but is largely unknown.

Sporty XE For Me
The Aura provides the roominess my family wanted while remarkably providing the sporty feel of a coupe which I wanted. The XE is quick off the line, handles cornering like it's glued to the road, and can be configured to turn heads. My Aura is Midnight Blue with the sporty 17inch twin-spoke alloys rims and a subtle fin on the trunk. I did not opt for the leather interior yet still find it fun to be inside.
Disappointed
This is my third Saturn in over 10 years, and while I love the product, I am kind of disappointed in this car. I was told the MPG was better than it has been (lucky if I get 19 mpg both street/hwy) and have had little things going wrong on it from day one. The OnStar was leaking water in when I washed the car, the stereo jammed CDs in it, now the AM doesn't work and the OnStar is cutting out during phone calls. The front bushings are squeaking on turns and bouncing. It has a lag when getting on the freeway, seems to take a few hiccups to get up to speed.
