My Silver 992
Purchased used in 2022 with 35 miles on the odometer from Porsche dealership in Hawaii (the person who ordered it never picked it up as they lived in Japan and never traveled back to Hawaii. … thanks COVID… So, he sold it back to the dealer) Pros: rides well with great acceleration and handling Great looks and design Cons: Worst speakers ever! The Bose speakers must be broken. Tried to demonstrate how bad they were at the dealership when I first purchased the car but i didn’t understand at the time that the speakers rattle on certain songs. It’s extremely annoying. Disturbingly more cabin rattles than I expected given how so many car reviews speak so highly of 911s build quality. My 992 is a early late 2019 build so maybe that has something to do with it… I would recommend any 992 purchaser to get the nose lift function. I scraped the front once and now approach all inclines with extreme caution. Great car otherwise

911 life
Pros- legendary product heritage, constant praise from onlookers, exciting drive, easy to use as everyday drive... cons- for a 100k+ purchased new, way too many speaks & rattles, Easily picks up rocks and debris from the road because it's so low to the ground. Constantly worried about damage. Add to replace windshield due to a rock chip .$3000, Expensive to own. Rear tires Which wear out quicker than the front are $500 each

911-2- S COUPE STICK
Bravo Porsche , I love it all. I have had four 911‘s over the years and this is absolutely my favorite. It is beautifully put together, I love the leather stitching, high level of workmanship and the mechanical precision. It is unbelievably fast, smooth and wonderful to drive. The manual creates the feeling of a resto-mod, where old school meets hi tech. As noted by many you don’t have to shift much if you don’t want to. Second gear can do about 80 so there is a huge range available in second or third. The modern touches like rev-matching and auto-start if you step on the clutch from stalling out, (which rarely occurs) is genius. My car is largely a garage queen. It’s in a country house and only used in suburban areas for weekend fun runs. Therefore the stick is ideal. The manual has a completely different vibe and character than the PDK. If you’re using the car as a daily driver in an urban environment I would get the PDK. Let’s face it, that’s the best automatic in the world and it’s faster.. I’ve driven the PDK and it’s more luxurious in it’s character and ride, but not as engaging. I love the Bose, no need for a Burmeister. The moonroof, leather stitching, Beautiful white dials, in my opinion that’s all you need with a stick. It comes with the sport exhaust and a few other things as a manual. I don’t have rear wheel steering, 4 wheel drive, or nose lift and I don’t miss them. I don’t see the need for four-wheel-drive if you’re not driving in the snow or bad weather which most people do not do . The 2 Wheel Drive is a blast and handles superbly . The 911 is very roomy, comfortable, light and airy as compared to many other true sports cars. It’s also one of the few you can get with a manual transmission. This is a modern classic.

Great car
I had the new mid-engine corvette convertible on order but due to supplier issue, kept on getting pushed backed. GM did say they will produce 2020 vettes into December if needed, however had little to no communication with their customers concerning build dates. Not wanting to pay full price for a car that's basically one year old, I decided to go for the gusto and spring for a new Porsche 911 Cabriolet. The car is fun to drive and has excellent build quality. The only problem I have had so far is I cannot get the Homelink to open the gate to my community and was told to take it to my local Porsche dealership for help, and the MMI system could be much more user friendly. This is nothing compared tothe vette which has had transmissions with debris, fit and finish problems and computer problems to name a few. In the long run, the decision to get the 911 was the right one for me. In an update to my review, the gasket around the front windshield was defective and had to be replaced under the warranty. You have to be very patient with the keyless entry on the drivers side. Porsche is aware of this, and it’s attributed to a poorly designed system. And then there’s the maintenance costs where EVERYTHING is expensive. I was expecting that but now I can confirm it. I still like the car. It’s a lot of fun, especially with the top down on a nice summer evening in Florida.
