Based on rental experience, it’s a NO GO

I drove this car daily for the past 2 weeks as a rental while my SUV was being repaired. Did it get me from point A to B? Yes. Did it do much else? No. Honestly I am not impressed with this car at all. For being a 2017 model it had no technology whatsoever. I am used to the back up camera, pushbutton start, Wi-Fi, and Apple CarPlay in my SUV. Believe it or not this car sells for about the same as what I paid for my 2018 Chevy equinox, but with no added bonus is that my car has whatsoever. When driving, the acceleration is extremely poor. Trying to go over 50 miles an hour is a big challenge. The sound system is a total joke. Turning the radio up to more than 50% of its max volume makes it sound like a rattling Ma The sound system is a total joke. Turning the radio up to more than 50% of its max volume makes it sound like a rattling mess. The gas mileage was poor as well, I did not get nearly the gas mileage that it claims to offer. The only good thing about this car is that it is quite roomy for a compact. The back seat and trunk are spacious for a car of this size. Besides that I cannot think of anything positive to say. For the money there is no value in this vehicle. I absolutely could not wait to get my car back and turn this one back to the rental car agency. Would not buy. There are way better cars on the market for the same price

Bought used for very cheap 16k with just under 10k miles on it. Had the Check engine light come on once around 16k and another time around 30k, both for minor issues no big deal. The ride is best on the highway with the premium package, navigation and 8 speaker bose sound is fantastic for this price. Love the styling of this car, ample power with the manual transmission (not sure about CVT) I think the manual will last longer anyways. I get compliments on the rims, At 38k miles a portion of that highway It still feels like it drives how it did when I got it. Only complaint is that when getting on the highway, after a long drive (500 miles) my check engine light started blinking , this I concluded was due to pushing the car hard without giving her a long enough breaktime. So, this made me push the car not as hard on those types of trips. I think longterm it will be relaible and if not hey it was a blast to drive for this cheap. Also can still trade in three years later with only a $5k loss, which isn't too bad for a nissan. Looking to keep for a while now since my credit score is high now and will be paid off fully in a couple months. Best parts of the car is power, fun and very easy to drive (if you know manual). Wind noise is better than average for this type of compact car but hit a bumpy road and you WILL feel it. Probably from the sporty feel, but still great car and worth it.

Tiny gas tank (13 gal?) and tires. Stodgy but has tight handling, you feel the road (which I like). Also like eco setting, interior, trunk space, good visibility. Little info given on how to use infotainment system. Navigation not as good as WAZE but oK. Screen good but can't use usb port for phone without losing sound??

serious safety problems

I do not recommend the sentra model of nissan to anyone, it has serious safety problems.I had a 2017 nissan sentra that was hit from behind by a suburban chevrolet, the chevrolet did not suffer absolutely any damage, I mean nothing at all ,while one of the main support bars below the sentra was folded like a paper, I mean the car was total lost. I think the problem is in the design it does not have a protective steel bar behind ,it is incredible that Nissan makes something like that, on the other hands the car had the a bad internal finished , also the audio with very poor quality. in the end are many better options in other brands, thanks to god.
