Most undersold sedan

I have had my Sentra SR Turbo for three years now. It has been very reliable compared to our other cars. The leather seats are extremely comfortable. If you are looking for a good economy car this is it. The gas mileage has been much better than the advertised rating in the summer months. The manual transmission was notchy when I first bought it but has become much smoother over time. It is a shame that Manual Transmissions are becoming harder to get as available options in new cars. That is the reason why we bought the Sentra. The manual transmission really changes the driver experience compared to the CVT version.

Do NOT buy a Nissan Sentra OR ANY NISSAN FOR THAT

I purchased a 2017 Nissan Sentra in 2018 with 26,000 on it. Before I got to take my temp tags off of it, the transmission went! They replaced the transmission in 2018 and by the beginning of 2020 it went AGAIN. Both of those time it was covered by the warranty. Then in Nov. 2021 the transmission went AGAIN... now because of my mileage, it's not covered by the warranty and they want me to come up with $5,000. Nissan said the warranty on their transmission is 1 year OR 12,000 miles! 3 transmissions since I've owned the car... this isn't right. Nissan is WELL AWARE of their problems with CVT transmissions! They just lost a class action lawsuit because of this exact issue. I NEVER thought I would ever have to put that kind of money into this car- that's why I saved to buy a 2017 in 2018. Nissan doesn't care about the safety of their customers either and it shows. Thank goodness mine went on my way to work, pulling out of a gas station. I have read about the transmission going out on people who were driving on thr freeway and some that caused fatal car accidents. I've also driven cars with 189,000 miles on it and the transmission never needed to be repaired let alone be replaced! I lost my job due to not having a car and it caused a MAJOR snowball effect in my life! I almost lost my home as well. I couldnt believe that Nissan wouldn't cover a 3rd transmission knowing that they should last way longer than a year and all the issues they have with them. I never got my money back for the tows or car rentals.....my credit is really awful because I was not able to come up with $5,000- trying to get another car was damn near impossible. Everytime a tow company came to pick up my car, they would make comments about how this is VERY common and that Nissan is one of the brands they pick up the most! I will NEVER purchase a Nissan ever again and I tell my story to anyone I know is looking to purchase a new car. I was PUNISHED for buying a Nissan- it literally RUINED MY WHOLE LIFE. They should be ashamed- if you don't believe me, do the research yourself...

We had gone with Nissan for reliability... This Sentra is very cheaply made. The door handles are seperating from the car! The engine sounds rough. We are just counting down the days for bigger issues, and have decided to stay away from Nissans in the future.

Love for the little car.

I'm 6'3 and fit very well in the car. I bought it new and in 3 years I've put 65k on it. The transmission had a small issue at 29k but its been great since. I do run the car in spot mode all the time and it does everything I want it to do. Mpg is anywhere from 36 to 48mpg depending on the outside temps. It does fit a family of 4 just fine. It you are buying one try for a sunroof. Its a fun little car .to drive to work or on vacation. Oh and at 65k it still looks new and runs like new.

Power switch issues

After 7 service visits to Nissan service department for a power window switch that keeps depressing into the door panel~I’ve been unable to get any assistance from anyone! The excuses are unbelievable & the problem still isn’t solved. If they can’t handle a power switch problem then how can I trust my car to them for any issues~I feel like I’m being scammed until my warranty runs out
