Very, very good. Almost great.

This is a very good car and I was pleasantly surprised in driving it. Being of a very picky nature, I test drove nearly 100 different cars over a 3 yr span looking for one that fit the "just right" category. And while this isn't it, with some tweaks it could very nearly be. The Rogue is FAR better than the inexplicably highly rated Rav4 and Mazda CX-5. And I mean there is no comparison. The Toyota and Mazda had ABYSMAL fit and finish and driving characteristics. The Rogue is the opposite: surprisingly great fit and finish, generally high reliability, a very punchy turbo engine, great acceleration, high interior comfort, PHYSICAL climate and infotainment controls, a gear selector that-- while not a traditional mechanical one-- operates traditionally and it not a dial or collection of buttons, relatively cushioned suspension. Despite all of this, the deal-breaker for me was the steering. The weight of the steering wheel (effort required to turn it) was so heavy (required so much effort), that you'd either snap or dislocate your wrists trying to fan the wheel. There will be no comfortable turns in this car. You have to grasp tight and yank the wheel like a racecar driver without power steering if you want to navigate a turn. In addition, the steering wheel is fairly small. So the effort that it takes to make the wheel turn is all the greater since you don't have the leverage of a larger diameter wheel to make the turns. Nissan went too far in trying to give the steering sporty characteristics. If it's not a sporty car or hot-hatch, it needs to have light, easy steering. This is a commuter car. Quite a disappointment, as the rest of the car was top-notch.

Nothing I don't like. I thought about how I would use the "head's up display" and now I love it, I never knew how often I took my eyes of the road to check my speed! Buy the Platinum just to get this!

Pleasantly Suspised

Had to purchase 2022 Rogue Platinum due to fact that our 2019 Rav4 XSE Hybrid was totaled in a accident by a careless driver. We were in a bind had to have a vehicle during unprecedented inventory shortages. The only vehicle we found that fit our needs. We have waited a year and half and 14000 mile to write this review. This is a very nice and comfortable vehicle. Lots of bells and whistles that took us awhile to figure out but now we could not live without them. Drive assist is very intuitive. Steering assist is hands down 100% better than the Rav. Ride comfort is top notch. We were worried the Platinum package might be a waste, but we love every luxury feature. The MyNissan App is wonderful and has spoiled us, with remote start from anywhere, navigation, vehicle status service scheduling, plus so much more. Have been in friends entry level Infinity QX50 and this Rogue Platinum beats them hands down.

No Built-In Garage Door Opener

I was disappointed that the 2022 Platinum level Rogue did not include a built in Garage Door Opener and the add-on is $500 Canadian. Since my last vehicle was a trim level lower and I bought it in 2017, I would’ve assumed the “new and improved” model would’ve included such “advanced technology.” I bought the vehicle site unseen during Covid and there were also no flyers available. The joke is on me.
