2013 Rogue S Functionally & Economical
The car is a great excellent quality for a mid-range SUV. The CVT transmission works fine, just requires a little getting used to.

CVT Transmission
As many others have stated I was driving down highway and lost power. Transmission has less than 70k and no help from Nissan even though they extended warranty on other models for the same issue. The car has been great up to this point. I would not consider buying another for this issue alone. Rebuilt transmission from dealers is over 3k

2013 rogue
It’s nice car and good on gas but it has the worst transmission ever and very expensive if you try to get new one I will not recommend it
Dead
Always had problems with transmission since 50,000 miles where the car wouldn't accelerate because it was in hot weather in Arizona. Changed the fluid twice in the 100,000 miles I've owned it. Now the transmission has cooked itself and no longer driveable. The current trade in value is $4,000 and repair for a rebuilt transmission from the Nissan dealer or transmission repair company is coming in at $4,000 to $5,250. If I would have known that the car was about to die I wouldn't have put brand new tires on or even bought the car 6 years ago. I called consumer affairs hotline at Nissan corporate and was passed around 4 times and on-hold for 55 minutes before they said "they vehicle doesn't qualify for the 10-year, 120,000 mile extended warranty" even though this is the same CVT transmission in the vehicles that were part of this extended warranty because of unhappy customers, high repairs and towing fees for similar vehicles. This is the second Nissan I've owned, and really upset that Nissan isn't owning up to this transmission debacle. I have reached out to an attorney regarding a class action lawsuit against Nissan.

Transmission Problems
The CVT transmission is defective. The transmission fluid doesn't cool properly and as a result most of their transmissions fail around 80 thousand miles with little warning. Very dangerous if traveling the interstate-the vehicle slows to 20-25 MPH top speed. The replacement trans is $6,000 and Nissan says tough luck. I have read some of their other models are even worse and they still use the same trans today-stay away from Nissan-the worst manufacturer in the world.
2013 Nissan Rogue 25 MPG
I traded in a 2010 Chrysler T&C loaded because the 3.8L V-6 was just too gas hungry 18-19 mpg. I got tired of it after the new wore off. My wife and I have owned 2 Nissan Sentras and we have liked Nissan products. I decided to try the Rogue and I am very happy with my choice, however, I was going to buy a 2013 Sentra but they all had Black interiors. I could not find one with a light interior. In Texas when the temp is 100 degrees you don't want to be setting in a black car. I purchased a "Frosted" Rogue SL loaded and I love driving it. 25 mpg and I haven't been on any road trips yet. It will do better on "Cruise". The Nissan Rogue will make a nice traveling SUV.
Rogue is a great vehicle for me!
Attractive vehicle. Good paint. It has a few issues,e.g., acceleration is not great, engine is noisy but car is comfortable, easy to get in and out of, has nice features like seat warmers. Sound system is average, not great. No repair issues at all in the past 3 years I've owned it. Would buy a Rogue again.

Great car in the beginning, but no longer
The Nissan Rogue seemed like a good choice because it was a Nissan product which traditionally are reliable and have relatively good resale values. However, since my car hit 50,000 miles it has needed several repairs, some of which will strand you. The latest one, and my car has only 58,000 miles, is definitely problematic. When you press the gas pedal, the car does not accelerate. It doesn't move. This apparently is due to the throttle body, which now needs to be replaced. I just spent $900 getting the condenser replaced for the air conditioner and had to be without my car for three days. The battery also failed a year ago, and that needs to be replaced or you can't start the car. I would steer clear of the Nissan Rogue, there is no reason I should have to buy a new car now, but I do if I want to get to work. I will not be buying a NIssan again.

Trashy Transmission
I purchased my 2013 Rogue S brand new. All was going well until the past few months, upon acceleration when the car is cold, it makes a whining noise. I took my car into the dealership, and they said they couldn't hear it. My husband then went down, drove the car with the technician in it, and he heard it. The junk think is that they can't figure out what is causing the noise. My Rogue only has 59K miles. The noise goes away if I turn off the OD. Additionally, it's also like my car doesn't shift smoothly, especially going uphill. I will never buy another Rogue.

Man what a car
This was my mom’s old car and when it was time for me to drive she gave it to me. The car comes with features that most modern car’s don’t have like 360 cameras, heated seats, great sound system, and keyless entry. I only had minor problems due to owner error and parts are reasonably priced. I recommend this to be anyone’s first car if you want something reliable, fun , and into music
