I spent a lot of time reviewing cars for my next purchase. Once I found out the 2022 Pathfinder was going to come out without the CVT transmission I was sold. Then I just had to wait for one to show up at the dealer. My dealer got 2 models in around the middle of July so I immediately went to the dealer and they had already sold the Platinum version so I went ahead and looked at the SL. I am glad I chose the SL because it saved me about 6,000. I can do without the premium audio and moon roof amongst other features not available. The quality of the interior and exterior is great. The ride is great. I have zero issues with the vehicle. We took a beach trip approximately 8.5 hours one way with six people, the youngest being 17, and we had no issues with the third row comfort (2nd row just has to move their seats up a little). Accelerated nice through the mountains of WV and VA, no power issues. I did have to have a roof mounted cargo carrier to fit all of the luggage and essentials. The only issue I have is the auto start stop feature. I would think that this would place a lot of strain on the car starter. I wish they would alow you to turn it off by default. They did provide a button to turn it off easily, I just have to remember to turn it off when I start the car. Again, this is a great car and I am very pleased with the purchase. 9/12/22 Still the right decision. I currently have 15,000 miles and the only issues i have had is the apple car play is finicky. I have same issues with my wifes 2021 Honda Passport and apple car play so I think it is an apple thing.

Home run for Nissan!

What an amazing car! I've been a loyal nissan customer for about 10 years (tired other brands but kept coming back), this by far my favorite one! Pros: It handles well in the city excels on the highway Wi-Fi hot spot is great for kids giving parents a nice quite trip. The 9 speed transmission shifts smoothly even at low speeds.(Its completely different from the first generation) The cabin is quite even with the cross bars on. Once you turn up the volume on the radio, you hardly notice any road noise. All of the safety tech works as expected. I come up close to any object or curb and the camera on that side turns on to show me. Even the rear senors picked up on a kid running behind me and the car slammed on the brakes. There is PLENTY of room and storage for a family. The seats are SO comfortable! I have back problems but have been able to sit on the car for 6 hours without any issues. Cons: The passenger seat is low. We have added a cushion to help. But there is no way to raise it. The senors to lock the door are EXTREMELY sensitive. I have been able to lock the doors whole one is open. I have also been able to lock it when my are brushed it. Make sure you have the keys with you at all times so can unlock if needed. The EZ flex is convenient and definitely helps. But it's so easy that my toddler figured it out. Now they will press it as their sibling tries to climb in. So watch the kids as they are getting in. Overall this car is a great family car. We have put 1,300 on ours in 2 weeks of ownership. If you are looking to compare it to the previous generations, dont! It's not on a truck frame so it doesn't handle like a truck, and it does not have a CVT like last generation. This car is completely different and it should definitely be on your list to rest drive if you're in the market for a 3 row SUV.

I do not recommend buying one and regret getting 1

I purchased my 2022 pathfinder in August of 2021. I traded in my 2015 Murano Platinum. I feel it was a huge mistake and am kicking myself. I have several Issues with it. The shifter was stuck in Neutral and would only go in N and Reverse. I had to drive home backwards over a mile. I had to have it towed to the dealer. The passengers seat is too low and doesn’t adjust, the passengers seat belt has to be fastened when no one is in it or it dings. The screen for the navigation and controls goes black randomly. A couple times it would come back on when the car was shut off and restarted. The drivers side heated seat didn’t work from day 1. Front end has a shaking when braking and driving at over about 55 mph. I have been locked out of the car and had to call roadside assistance in a rain storm. I had it to the dealer for a couple weeks. They said the shifter was dirty and so was the seat belt on the passengers side. I’m sure they didn’t know what was wrong so they said it was dirty to cover their lack of knowledge. After being in the shop the car will go into Neutral while driving randomly. I almost got ran over by a semi on I-95. It also happened in the middle of a busy intersection. The auto stop/start feature needs to be able to be turned off and only used if the customer chooses. Gas door comes opened during high winds and in the car wash, needs to be able to lock. Rear passenger doors don’t open from the inside of the vehicle at random. The heat blows cold air unless you crank it up as high as it will go and still doesn’t get hot enough. Sounds like one of the passengers side windows is opened when driving and is loud. A few times the car wouldn’t start. The first time it happened after I had it in aux mode for about 20 minutes so I figured that was why and then it’s happened a couple times after that, the car was completely dead and it was late at night on a dark road. The interior design is not the best as far as the console. The change compartment is next to the shifter and money can slide under it. The aux plugs are in the back of the cubby and finding them is inconvenient and you have to move everything in there to get to it. The internet feature has to be subscribed to for after the trial and I am unable to ad it to my AT&T account and would have to have a separate account for it and I won’t do that. It should be free considering the issues with the car. It could leave someone in an unsafe situation. My remote start doesn’t work half the time either. There are serious electrical problems with this car. I do not feel safe driving it at all. It has lost power on hills a few times. It is sometimes slow shifting into gears at slower speeds. Backing up with a small trailer the back up sensor will not allow you to back up without having to sit and go through the functions to find the turn off. The cruise control wouldn’t engage the couple times I tried to use it. My Murano was great, I never had a problem with it. I would not recommend anyone purchase the Pathfinder. I miss my Murano and the only reason I traded it was because it had the CVT transmission and had started acting up sometimes. I paid a lot of money for this car and if I try to trade it in I’ll take a serious loss. I drive a lot and am on the road late at night a lot of times and worry about my safety. I wish Nissan would buy it back and fix the issues before someone is killed or injured badly. #Nissan #2022NissanPathfinder

I hate it

This was a bad purchase. I hate my new Pathfinder. The electronics are very glitchy and cause driving distraction because I have to constantly reset settings and add and delete my phone to carplay to work. As for towing it is so stupid. When in tow mode the dang thing does not disable the rear sensors so as soon as you try backing with a trailer is locks up the brakes which is annoying and just plain stupid. The passenger seat is way to low so low passengers can’t see out the windshield. Looks nice but the engineering is way off and the vehicle feels cheaply built and flimsy. I would not recommend this vehicle as it totally missed the mark. Once again very buggy in the firmware department and towing mode completely sucks.

I bought this 2022 SL Preminm 8 passenger suv in May 22, I love this vehicle, it looks great handles beautifully, and there is plenty of power, the only 2 small complaints I have is the passenger front seat is low and my wife has a hard time seeing over the dash as well the door lock sensors don't like the wet or the cold especially the driver door and doesn't always lock when touched. I have seen alot of comments on here regarding start stop feature not being able to turn it off...you just have to turn it of in the menu settings if you don't want it to come on. I have just under 7000km so far and look forward to putting on thousands more. I would buy again .
