my new Pathfinder
I just purchased this pathfinder. We looked at everything, 4runner, Escape, liberty, exconoix, etc... This was the most car for the money. I would have paid the same or 4 to 5,000 more for the other vehicles. This is much bigger than the other suvs. It was a lot less expensive as the 4runner. We even looked at the honda ridgeline, it was 33,000. So far this is a great fun suv. It looks good, has plenty of room inside, fun to drive, great cd player, good information center, good lights for night driving, great steering, tight steering, so so on gas usage, so far 15.6 mpg. in the city. Can't expect great gas milage with this size vehicle. Seats fold flat, good cargo area, great a/c.
The Best
This is the best SUV I've driven. I have owned 3 Ford Explorers and will never go back. Before buying I test drove the 4-Runner, but it was a lot rougher.

No Longer Loyal to Nissan
My dealership just told me we need to replace timing chain for $1300.00 (71,000 mile). 1997 Maxima has 210,000 miles. Quality now not better than other brands. Will replace with Sequoia or GM/Ford product. Appears to be a problem they won't fix. Lost my loyalty!
Great SUV!
I love the car. really reliable. Great design, nice interior, and fun to drive.
WoW!
We bought this truck about three months ago. And every day its fun to drive and it never gets boring. At a first glance its big bold face looks like it's ready to take on anything. The inside is comfortable. The seats are soft but offer great suport. The bose is clean and clear no matter how loud it is.The simpe fetures like one touch moon roof are great and the individual climate controll is great. How ever this is a truck and going down the free way is hard at times but the suspesion feels firm and solid. When you put your foot in it the pathfinder seems to think its a 350z it takes of burning the chick in the Chevy Taho.It holds the open road and when thrown into a curve it sicks.
Great Choice!!
I looked for about 2 months before finally buying the Pathfinder. I've always had a sports car, so this jump to a mid size SUV was questionable in my search. I have so much more room. I'm so glad I jumped to the SUV!
Overall good Pathfinder
Well built vehicle, but very cramped in back seat for anyone over 4 1/2 feet tall. MPG has been a constant 20 and 21 since we got. Very Quiet vehicle. slightly shorter than XTERRA, and not as rugged. Hits my head as I am getting in any door.
Pathfinder Fun
Replaced a Dodge Durango with a Pathfinder. I enjoy having the same seating capacity as the Durango and a 4000 pound tow capacity in a vehicle that gets better gas mileage. Durango V8 was terrible on gas (under 13 mpg). The Pathfinder V6 is much better so far (averaging over 17 city but only have 900 miles on it to date. Also, I live in Arizona and the Durango air conditioning would not keep up. The Pathfinder has excellent air conditioning capacity. I find the handling and ride very similar in both vehicles. Pathfinder is a much quiter vehicle even though I have found more "plastic" in this vehicle as compared to the Durango.
Great SUV for the buck
Just recently purchased a low mileage, used 2006 Pathfinder SE. Pretty base setup but has the sunroof and Bose Premium sound system in it. On the road it handles pretty well. V6 has a lot of punch to it and suspension makes the ride pretty smooth. Fuel economy is as expected in this SUV so no surprise there however, it's not as bad as some other ones with V8's. Haven't taken this off-road yet however I think it would perform pretty well regardless.
I love nissans
This is my 3rd Pathfinder. I love them. The purchase and the ownership are great and was great with all three SUV's.
Better than a 4runner
I just traded in my 1996 limited 4runner on a new 2006 pathfinder se and boy I am happy. I am a dedicated Toyota fan but when I compared the new 4runner to the pathfinder it was an easy choice. The interior design of the pathfinder is totally superior, especially if you need a third row. What was toyota thinking with the fold up seats? Also the performance of the pathfinder is like a sports car vs toyota's sluggish performance. The overall value of the SE with the comfort and perfomance package just is awesome - just check out the bose 10 speaker stereo...
Nice car
Previously i owned Murano'04 and liked a lot. All of a sudden decided to replaced with another SUV and drove some mid-size ones. As soon i step out of the Nissan i decided to take it. So fast, so comfy so so so... The fuel consumption is not a problem related to the power and the acceleration this vehicle has. Next on might be Armada:)))
Best Combination of Features
I test drove the Pathfinder, Pilot, X- Terra, 4-Runner, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, Volvo and Ford Explorer. The Volvo is a great design, but the premium fuel requirement was a problem as well as the cost of regular dealer service. The X-Terra has no sunroof option and is a bit "basic." The Grand Cherokee Limited seemed the most car- like, but the 4.7 V8 was very disapointing. The Pilot did everything well, but seemed bland, especially in the styling department. Ultimately, it got down to the Toyota and the Pathfinder. I drove both 3 times. In the end, I couldn't get past the 4-Runner's "on the floor" driving position, even with the height control maxed out---Pathfinder won.
First Pathfinder
Love the space of the pathfinder. Third row a plus. I have always owned Chevy SUV, after having this I won't go back. Engine noise a little hard to get used to-reminds me of a 4 cylinder sound. But it is great on the get go, sometimes a little too much! My pathfinder has every option available and the controls are easy to learn. Comfortable seats and lots of head and leg room.
Tight
I looked at the 4runner, H3, Jeep Grand Chrokee and Pathfinder. I was looking for a SUV that was still a "truck" rather than a car crossover. The jeep has fallen out of the truck catagory for me. Its too low to the ground, does not have truck-like tires and no dealers seem to carry the two speed transfer case. The H3 was out b/c I have kids and it does not come with rear door locks anchors for child seats - no wonder GM can't give away its cars. I drove both the H3 and jeep and they also seemed cheap and the fit and finish was poor. The 4runner and pathfinder were both tight and had smooth-as-silk acceleration. I went with the pathfinder b/c you could get more options for the money.
Pathfinder Radiator leak into Tranny
I purchased a brand new Pathfinder in 2006. A few days ago, the engine light came on. I took it to Apple York Nissan(n/c the customer service in Lancaster PA is TERRIBLE) and they informed me that I need a new transmission and radiator. I looked this up online and it happens that many people have come across this. I have a HARD time swallowing the fact that I need to shell out $5900 for a car that is not even 5 years old! Does Nisan stand by ts cars? Hell no! Would I EVER buy from them again? Hell NO! Customer service was downright awful in Lancaster. York was better. This seems to be a ongoing prob with Nissan, I have researched this prob and many people have had it...its time
Best Bang for your Buck
For the money, it's the best mid-size SUV out there. 270 hp is fun to drive with sleek lines and a tough look. 3rd row seating is a solid edition. I recommend spending a few extra bucks for the leather interior on the SE model. The SE has better lease packages and if you get the leather it's virtually the same truck as the LE.
Just purchased
We just brought home our new SE 06 Pathfinder and love it. We upgraded to the comfort package with the A/C vents for the third row seats. I could not believe they expect to cool the third row with two tiny vents in the second. We test drove on a very HOT afternoon and I wouldn't put my child or even my dog back there without access to an A/C vent.
still going to buy a pathfinder
Just bought the pathfinder. Had less than 1000 miles when my parents were driving it and they were involved in an accident. Someone ran a red light and hit them in the intersection. The truck started to spin out and flipped onto the passenger side. Thank god for the side airbags! Considering my mother had to be cut out of the car, she only sustained a bruised and sprained wrist. No other injuries, not even any scratches for my mother or father. We are currently submitting our claim with the insurance companies. But as soon as everything is settled my husband and I will be purchasing another Pathfinder. Definitely suggest you get the airbag package that is offered!
Rock the Pathfinder
I drove a lot of SUVs before I decided on the Pathfinder. Four wheel drive and room are a must for me. It really didn't take much after I drove it several times and took a look at the sticker price. The vehicle works great for what I need. Golfing, mountain biking, and snowboarding are more enjoyable now with the room and power available with my Pathfinder. All my gear fits, and I have room to bring friends! I was worried about fuel economy but have found it to be reasonable. I average above 19 in the city (work) and long 70 mph trips (weekends) average 22. The build and quality of the Pathfinder is hard to beat. For the price, the Pathfinder rocks.Les Stanford,Jackson,MI hooked me.
Great 4x4 SUV
I purchased my pathfinder le almost 2 years ago with 12,000 miles.. The car now has 35,000.. I have never had any problem with this car, it handles the snow amazingly since I live in Chicago. Much better car than 4runner or envoy. It has great look and performance and I am 100% satesfied with my purchase and I would buy it again.
Way to many problems
The pathfinder is not a good vehicle. 30,000 miles, the motor starts at a to high idle with no oil up (knocks 2sec). Acceleration from start touchy (jerks head). Had 2 tires replaced (bad belts in them).@20,000 had rotors turned with new pads. Red braun paint on front horrible (problems embedded in paint, detail shop wants nothing to do with it) radio don't pick up closest stations clearly. Interior cloth don't clean well. The exterior rear view mirrors show distorted images and don't show you your straight path behind you. Come on people. I have talked to 3 owners and all of them have experienced at least 2 or more of these problems. For $30,000 I would have expected a better quality vehicle from Nissan.
New Owner
The people at Mossey were fabulous. I've had the car a little oer a week and I love driving it. Previously, I had a Honda Pilot which was excellent. The Pathfinder, although a bit smaller (at least it seems that way) has more horsepower and torque. So far I like it as much as my pilot.
Fun, Fast, Tough!!
Sold My Crew Cab for the Pathfinder.. And for once I feel like I got my money's worth. It has all the features I need.. ride, handling, looks.. etc..
Excellent in Mid Size SUV Category
It's been a great joy to drive this vehicle. Good response to the throttle. Awesome power you won't even feel that you are driving a vehicle. Good size of tires. Vehicle appearance is very good.
Good overall vehicle
This was my second Pathfinder purchase. I owned an 05 brand new SE and turned it in off lease then went to my wife's honda until it was off lease. I bought the LE due to the navigation and rear DVD system for my kids. Overall the vehicle is good, and solid. The gas mileage is horrible and the navigation is harder to work then a nintendo wii. I have yet to find a direction on it.
Exceptional vehicle!
Love my Pathfinder! Very comfortable and has been extremely dependable. Absolutely no service/dependability issues except for a broken latch on the center storage bin (which I accidentally broke). Covered under warranty. Looks terrific and great performance. Second row seating is adequate but would be tight for taller/larger people. Third row is good only for kids, but that's a given. Only disappointment has been mileage - about 15 mpg combined - and relatively small gas tank. But would still strongly recommend to anyone and would buy again without hesitation!
New Pathfinder Owner
I was looking for a bigger suv than my 04 Suzuki XL-7 and so far I'm glad I chose the Pathfinder. I've only had it for a week, but no major complaints. It rides very well, hardly any road noise, a lot of power and it looks good. So far, so good, so very, very good!
Best vehicle we've owned
This has been the best vehicle we have ever purchased. We now have 55000 miles and it just keeps going without anything going wrong. Hall Nissan service guys make you feel like we bought a BMW--always helpful, never try to oversell anything you don't need--it is because of their service, We will buy another Nissan. My only complaint is the fold-down front passenger seat--it is uncomfortable after about an hour due to the removed area of lower lumber that allows it to fold flat--don't get that seat--she'll hate it three weeks later and tell you! Xenon headlight option would be great-- they still don't offer it on the 2010-- or I'd be trading in--I'll wait for 2011 and see--!
Love it
I have owned Pathfinders in the past and I would have to say that Nissan really out did themselves this time. I feel that the 2006 Pathfinder really is the best they have come out with. Way to go Nissan.
If it had better MPG, I'd be in love
Wonderful SUV. Feels like a truck. Something "I" like & my wife has grown to like. We gave up our Mitsu. Endeavor XLS for this. That rode fantastic. This isn't as smooth, but like I said, I prefer a truck feel & my wife feels safer with that feeling now as well, after all, we got it for her. We test drove almost the entire gamut of SUVs out there. Durango, Tahoe, Explorer, Expedition (I Loved, that one, my wife didn't like the size), Pilot, Navigator, Highlander, 4- Runner & Sequoia. We also, drove the Armada & would have gotten that if it wasn't for the size (wife again) & the fact that the one we wanted was going to take too long to get. The Pathfinder looked (wife's term, not mine!) "Cute"
Good SUV, Bad dealer Service
The car is great. I have the fully loaded XE model with the navigation. Navigation was easy to use and better than other one that I used before like Lexus. The third row seat are great if I need to squeeze the little ones back there. SUV towed cars and boats with ease. Had problems getting issues fixed. For example, my heated seat work intermittently. The dealership turned it on and of course it worked. I had to make a scene with the service rep. and service manager to have their tech look at it. Same thing happened when my heater didn't work.
very happy with my pathfinder
excellent car, comfortable, spacious, it takes a lot of gas, $45, now that gas is at $2.70 gallon but i drive for 7 days, very good looking truck. I can't get enough of it!
2006 Nissan Pathfinder
This SUV is a joy to drive. It's strongly built, runs fast and steady, great pick up and feels very secure at high speed. It is built with high quality materials and perfect fit and finish. Gas mileage is around 20-22 miles PG ( 70 miles an hour speed) on the highway and 15 in the city. This is a big SUV but does not feel big. Great vehicle for long drives and bumpy roads.
Pleased with my Pathfinder
I enjoy driving my pathfinder. I wouldn't trade it for any other SUV. Having looked and owned other SUV's in the past I prefer the pathfinder over Ford, Chev, and Toyo SUV's the ability to access to the 3 row seat is great and the space and comfort of the 2 row seat is great. Interior is easy to clean and the teflon in the rear interior was the best idea for pets and sport equipment. Keeps me from worrying about keeping the interior clean.
Best SUV for your money
The model I own is a SE 4x2 with comfort, leather and premium packages. I've only had it for a few weeks, but so far there is no problem. I spent several weeks test- driving and checking out other mid- size SUVs, i.e. 4Runner, Envoy, Explorer, before deciding on the Pathfinder. It is definitely the best SUV out there for the money, and yet there are exceptional features that other SUVs don't have. I have owned several Nissan cars, but this is my first SUV. I'm very satisfied.
Satisfied Nissan Customer
Have owned two other Nissans and this is by far the best!!! Wife and kids love. And I love it when I get to drive it...
Check Engine Light and Tire Light
We just bought this vehicle from a local dealer. I really love the car but the service engine light came on. The dealer said it was fixed but I think that they just reset the computer. And the DTE is showing so I think it's a fuel sensor that's out. Plus the tire light is on like I have a flat. Turns out if you read the manual that if it blinks at first and then stays on that there is a problem with the system. Well, I bought the warranty and the dealer has verbally agreed that they would fix both so we will see on Monday. Either way I love it and after those get fixed, 3 rows lots of room, VERY peppy and looks awesome.Got a great deal too. I will update later.
New Car Owner
I've just had my new Pathfinder for about a month now. It rides great and plenty of storage room. It does well on long road trips.
Not our first choice
My wife and I were shopping for a Grand Cherokee. After looking at the Cherokee, we crossed the street to take a look at the Pathfinders. It did not take long for us to fall in love with this SUV. The Pathfinder pretty much sold itself.
happy off roader
traded in my hyundai santa fe. the pathfinder is a way more capable and comfortable vehicle. very smooth shifting, unlike santa fe. alot of power for v6 and roomier too.
Great Car
I love this suv. Perfect size. Love the third row seat that folds flat--there when you need it.
Fun with some flaws
I've owned the Pathfinder going on 3 years and have had no major problems or issues. I do the regular maintenance visits and so far nothing out of the ordinary. I'm in awe of the Bose 10 speaker system, it sounds better than most out of the box systems I've heard. The look is great, the ride is fun and if somethings are tweaked can be a pleasure to own. This SUV is the third one I have owned (had a CR-V and Cherokee) and is the best of the bunch, but also the biggest gas guzzler of the lot. But I enjoy the power and responsiveness when I drive, so it makes up for its short comings.
loved it when it worked
bought a used 06' SE from carmax with a 60 warranty(thankfully) engine wise and looks wise a great SUV but had a few problems with it that were dangerous IMO. Rear diff had to be replaced and luckily under warranty at 49k miles! two different occasions the car would out of nowhere not steer more than 10 degrees to the left and deemed dangerous IMO. replaced under warranty both times and this might have been a lemon cause how soft it was driven. The steering issue the first time was the rack and pinion and the second time was the steering column IMO it was the steering column the whole time. Overall great looks and feel in driving when it steered properly! Great engine and powerful for a re
Not perfect . . . but close
Looked at every midsize SUV in this price range, and it came down to the Pathfinder LE 4x4 or 4Runner Sport. Close call, but the Pathfinder won - seats are much more comfortable, dashboard ergonomics are FAR superior, side airbags are standard. (Side airbags are NOT available in the 4Runner Sport w/leather; if you want both you have to move up to the 4Runner LTD.) My previous SUVs were an '84 Bronco and '93 Explorer - this Pathfinder trumps both. In my "hill country suburban" driving, I've gotten just under 18 mpg in my first 1100 miles on regular - about 2 mpg better than I got with my smaller, less- powerful Explorer. Plus, the Pathfinder has more US content (60%) than the 4Runner (5%).
Nice first impression
We looked at Ford and Mercury products before deciding on the Pathfinder, We liked the size, exterior design, interior and features. After driving it on several road trips we noticed and issue with the steering wheel rattling around on road imperfections. It has been back to the dealership numerous times. They adjusted the steering force which helped a bit but hasn't solved the problem. We drove another vehicle off the lot and the rattle or vibration didn't show up. The dealership service manager says it is in spec and says it it normal. I wouldn't buy this vehicle again if the steering and or suspension issues would have shown up in the test drive. I wouldn't buy this vehicle again.
very very good car
I have bought the LE model of the nissan pathfinder. I bought it in super black and the interior is creame leather. This is a beautiful car especially when it's nice and shiny and clean. The engine is pretty fast 270 horse power is enough for me.Sometimes in the highway i will be putting the car 135 mph and u cant even feel it but u do see your self leaving all the cars behind and passing other vehicles trying to press there gas on me.I love it when i press the gas and your back goes against the seats. sharp on turns and wonderful in the snow espeacially when i have the auto 4x4 which the car puts 4 wheel drive when ever it needs it.
DISSAPOINTED
I have this suv for only 2 weeks, but I'm all ready dissapointed. the outside is great, but the interior is to narrow, as a passenger I don't have enough space to put my purse beside my feet, if I do i feel crumpy. If somebody sits behind me I have to move my seat forward, and then I am uncomfortable; in order for my back passenger to be comfortable. When I get in I have to be careful not to hit my head. I plan to exchange my pathfinder as soon as I can.
Wish I looked around more
Had van before and wanted a suv but at 5'0 I didn't want huge. Love the look of the Pathfinder as it goes down the road but now that I'm the one driving it I'm disappointed. Once I got my kids in it I realized it wasn't going to be a vacation car. We'll need to rent somethng more comfortable for vacations. Had the panel on the back of passenger seat fall off already and it's in for transmission problems (doesn't want to drive in "drive"- feels like it's in 3rd gear). Dealer doesn't care much. Has only 280 miles on it!! Should have gone with something else. Sportier than a minivan though and after 19 years of driving a van it's a fun vehicle to have- just not as main family vehicle.
ill stick at SO SO
I love the ride.Gets up and goes I got it at a local dealership I paid 14000 friend discount it had 40000 when i got it now im running on 70000 and it still runs strong.I have the problems like everyone.DTE,Check engine light, and the tire light just came on yesterday. All this just started happening this year.Nothing wrong with my tires just need new ones can easyly reset by pulling off the negitve wire from the battery(black one)and if u got ur Nissan used can check if the previous owner took it in for the recall fuel if not u can still get it replaced. It will clear out the DTE and no more check engine light.Living here in hawaii I surf and tow jet skis and boats its like the energizer bunny
