Great SUV
This SUV is great in every way possible. Purchased this car in 2007, the car has 40,000 miles on it, the only problem is the tire pressure sensor and was replaced by the dealer in, less than 20 min for free because I have 6 years warranty or 75,000. I traded my pathfinder for 2010 maxima to get better mileage. Sure enough the next morning returned the maxima and got my truck back. The ride and the confidence you have when you drive this truck make it worth the extra money for the gas. I love this truck and after what happened I appreciate it even more.
Satisfied
I've had my pathfinder for about a month now. So far my family and I have been very satisfied with it; relatively smooth ride, awesome horse power, comfortable room, and good gas milage for a SUV. We have been happy with our purchase, and we really enjoy it.

Outstanding Vehicle
I looked at all competing makes and models and it came down to the Pathfinder LE and the Toyota 4-Runner Limited (V8). The Pathfinder won but the Toyota was not far behind. Plenty of power, Great styling, excellent choice of options and layout. It also gets great gas mileage for a SUV of this size. I bought this Pathfinder with 15 MPG city and 21 MPG highway on the window. I can get 20.4 highway and 15 to 16 around town and average somewhere 17.4 allover. To me that's excellent. My previous Explorer Sport Trac got 16 highway and 13 around town and had a hard time passing a bicycle. I have added the (factory) XM radio and (factory) Ipod interface. Shocks are next for a tighter ride. Buy one!
Dangerous Car
I bought a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with 50,000 miles on it. In about 2 years the car started shaking and vibrating on the highway. I started researching and found out this is a serious problem with Nissan Pathfinders 2005-2011. The Radiator fluid mixes with the transmission fluid and causes damage and puts i you in danger in the middle of the road. The estimate today from Nissan dealer, $10, 088 and I owe $10, 000 on the car! Do your homework. The frustrating entries about this car are all over the internet, including class action lawsuits!
Falls Apart! Slowly
Bought an 06 pathfinder in 07 with 30000 miles windows slowly went out one by one radio staticky, cup holder slowly broke down, heater went out works sometimes. And at 140,000 cat converters failed, fuel tank failed, As soon as you pay it off get ready for everything to fall apart and break down. Watch your coolant mixing and messing up the transmission. Nissan does not stand by their vehicles. Toyota is the way to go. Will not buy another Nissan.

Excellent SUV
We traded my wife's 1999 Grand Cherokee in for the Pathfinder. We have no regrets... the Pathfinder has been far superior to our Gr. Cherokee (which had seen its 3rd rear axle failure, among other things, in 70K miles). It has 80 more horsepower and gets 3 mpg (average) better mileage. In 6 months, we have put 15,000 trouble free miles on the Pathfinder. These miles includes a couple 2,000 mile trip with our 7 year old twins. The flexiblity of the the 3-row seating allowed for one to sit in the 2nd row and the other in the 3rd, and provide plenty of room for all our luggage/gear. The Bose stereo, power, styling and comfort are excellent. I would recommend the Pathfinder to anyone.
Very few problems. LOVE this car!
I bought my '06 Pathfinder in November of 2006. It had previously been a rental vehicle and had 29000 miles on it. Today the odometer reads almost 119,000 miles. I hesitate to write this review because I don't want to jinx myself, but we really don't ever have problems with it. The only issue that has ever come up is the fuel sensor that needed to be replaced two or three years ago. The vehicle was still under warranty, so not a big deal. I LOVE MY PATHFINDER! I average about 18 mpg and that is probably equal time in the city and the highway. We took it on a trip to North Carolina two years ago (over 2000 miles for us) and on the straight stretch of I-40, we got about 24mpg.
2006 Nissan Pathfinder
I have had my Pathfinder since last August and have tallied 6400 miles so far. It has all the options (leather, all airbags, sunroof, etc.) you can get on an SE accept the DVD and Navigation. Highway ride is excellent and quiet but jittery over bumps. Off- road ride on gravel and pitted roads is sure-footed and controlled. Only one trip to dealer for malfunctioning stability control sensor, replaced under warranty. Fit in finish inside is tight with no rattles or gaps. Plenty of room to haul lots of stuff when all seats are folded flat, including large dog crate and hunting equipment. Child safety seats easy to install, although middle position has no LATCH. Overall, very satisfied.
Poor service
Two months old and 1400 miles power steering pump stopped working and vehicle was in shop for over a week. Horrible communication with service department. Will not shop there again for any vehicle.
Fun to drive
Great truck and comfortable to drive around in town and travel great third seat to use or for extra storage great power 270hp
Spent over 10k in the last 8 yrs on repairs
Transmission is faulty

Excellent in Mid Size SUV Category
It's been a great joy to drive this vehicle. Good response to the throttle. Awesome power you won't even feel that you are driving a vehicle. Good size of tires. Vehicle appearance is very good.
Good overall vehicle
This was my second Pathfinder purchase. I owned an 05 brand new SE and turned it in off lease then went to my wife's honda until it was off lease. I bought the LE due to the navigation and rear DVD system for my kids. Overall the vehicle is good, and solid. The gas mileage is horrible and the navigation is harder to work then a nintendo wii. I have yet to find a direction on it.
SE 4WD
A bit tight in the front, but I'm not on the small side either. Good ride, great appearance, and awesome stereo
I love nissans
This is my 3rd Pathfinder. I love them. The purchase and the ownership are great and was great with all three SUV's.
Pathfinder to Pathfinder
Have had no major problems in the first 3yrs of ownership. Just recently, the SES alert came on. Diagnostics indicated fuel system issue. Online research has shown this is a known issue, but no help from Nissan, so I'm somewhat concerned about that. Mileage is average; decreases exponentially with aggressiveness of driving; haha. Overall, the feel of the ride was a HUGE improvement from earlier model. Cargo bay is very useful and seat conversion is very easy. It's not a roomy vehicle, but anyone who tries before buys should know that and not complain if they take it. Overall, I'm very satisfied
Great Ride
We were in the market for a 4Runner and test drove a few. But in the meantime my company offered a decent discount on Nissan. So we bought a Pathfinder LE. We have had it for about 3 months now and we love it. No rattles or squeaks, it is built very well. The only complaint is the gas mileage. I am currently getting 17 mpg. You will feel every bump, it does ride like a truck. Overall, it is the best vehicle we have owned so far at this point.
Nice car
Previously i owned Murano'04 and liked a lot. All of a sudden decided to replaced with another SUV and drove some mid-size ones. As soon i step out of the Nissan i decided to take it. So fast, so comfy so so so... The fuel consumption is not a problem related to the power and the acceleration this vehicle has. Next on might be Armada:)))
Jack of All Trades!!
This car is "good" in a lot of different ways. Suspension is soft for off-roading, but skid plates, and ranchos serve it well. Highway ride is GREAT, very smooth and quite, long wheel base helps with that. Only complaint is the seats! I'm 6'4'' and I don't fit comfortably, seats could be more supportive. Rear seating is cramped but storage capacity is great. No reliability issues whatsoever yet Yes, the throttle IS touchy, but if you know how to drive a car, this shouldn't be a problem! Interior ergonomics are above average, plastics could be little bit more scratch resistant (have to be careful when cleaning). Can avg 21 mpg if you drive it at 65.
Great SUV
I've had my Pathfinder for 6 months, put 19,000 mi on it to date, and loved it. I've pulled a 3500 lb boat several times, and while that drops mileage to about 12 (75-80 mph) it has enough motor to keep you in the left lane. When not towing, it will out accelerate most "Pretty" cars. Handles better than most vehicles I've owned, and is the quietest by far. Bose stereo rocks. I love this vehicle, can't wait to put some performance rubber and engine enhancements on it.
Great Car
This is our 2nd Pathfinder and as with this our old one we enjoy this vehicle too. It gives us the room needed and the comforts too. The 2006 Pathfinder is a great vehicle to drive, a lot of power. A GREAT VEHCILE
Suprised at Quality Glad I got Extra War
Upgraded from Xterra to pathfinder. The VDC and SLIP lights on the dash have gone on and off since I got it dealer couldn't find anything wrong. At 15K I had a flat tire and found out the jack would barely lift the car high enough to change the tire on a flat surface being that I was on the shoulder it would not lift the car high enough so I had to borrow another jack to finish the job, also the jack jammed fully extended and would not go down had to drive off it. The fuel sensor went at about 47K, I purchased a ext'd 10year warranty which covered repair. The tires and brakes will be replaced this week at 51K. I average 16.7 mpg. Fun to drive aspect wore off quick quite boring to drive now.
Poor fit and finish.
Loved my 2003 Pathfinder, should have bought that off lease instead of re- leasing the new 2006 version. But, with kids, needed the 3rd row. The truck rides nice, but has had fit and finish problems since the day we got it. Tire mounted inproperly, driver door mechanism had to be replaced, brake rotors had to be refinished. All that in the 1st 2 weeks of ownership. Now, the fuel door stays open or locks closed, with no relase lever. And now, the steering feels like it has a small amount of play in it, like you fell in a car that has 80,000 miles, not 3,600! I wrote letters, the dealership is accomidating, but Nissan corporate could care less. Last Nissan I will ever purchase.
Great SUV
Without a doubt this SUV is a winner. I have tested many vehicles off-road and I always favored a Pathfinder. My wife wouldn't go for the 4x4, therefore I was forced to live with the 4x2. In my opinion it is the best mid-large SUV for the buck.
Nice truck
It drives pretty nice, looks a lot better than other similar american made models in its class,
Best Combination of Features
I test drove the Pathfinder, Pilot, X- Terra, 4-Runner, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, Volvo and Ford Explorer. The Volvo is a great design, but the premium fuel requirement was a problem as well as the cost of regular dealer service. The X-Terra has no sunroof option and is a bit "basic." The Grand Cherokee Limited seemed the most car- like, but the 4.7 V8 was very disapointing. The Pilot did everything well, but seemed bland, especially in the styling department. Ultimately, it got down to the Toyota and the Pathfinder. I drove both 3 times. In the end, I couldn't get past the 4-Runner's "on the floor" driving position, even with the height control maxed out---Pathfinder won.
06 Pathfinder
This car has done everything for us, hauling a boat to moving the kids to college and over the road trips to daily driving. The only drawback is the passenger fold flat seat is very uncomfortable for the wife. The lack of lumbar support and the tilted forward headrest a a pain in the neck. Otherwise, it has been a dream to own and very, very dependable and capable. I will buy another if they make the seating more comfortable. The paint and exterior finish is first rate and looks new today. The dealer service at Hall in Va. Beach is 1st class and I would buy another based on the dealership.
2006 Nissan Pathfinder
I bought this with fairly low miles 50k. It has a high idle with vibration under the driver seat when you start engine. There's an exclamation symbol thats been on since two days after purchase. I've taken it to get tires inflated but the symbol still remains. The steering is very hard ,seats are loose for some reason, when I turn I can feel it move. This vehicle aside from the steering being hard has a great takeoff, seating could be more spacious. The front seats are stiff and uncomfortable . The Bose stereo would be nice if the cd player would work. The stereo has static and bad reception and thats in town. This has been a total disappointment.
Best SUV on the market
Traded in our second Quest for a 2006 Nissan SE Pathfinder. This SUV is by far the best i have ever driven or ownded. The gas mileage could be better, but this baby has plenty of power with a 4.0 Liter V6. Very comfy and a great ride!
More with Number 4
This is my fourth Pathfinder (same model). Just finished an 890 mile trip that included approx.600 interstate miles, and the rest through the Adriondack Mts.loaded with camping gear. Quiet (the best yet), smooth ride, hugged the mt curves, and with power for hills and passing (big improvement over previous Paths. Comfortable to drive. For the most part interior & exterior design are above average. Climate control, audio, etc, no problems, no complaints. Though the enterior seems smaller I find it quite satisfactory, and the third row seats-perfect for the two grandkids. I have only chalked up just under 4,000 since March, but enough to know it's a keeper! Haven't tried off road, yet.
Loving my Pathfinder!!!
I bought my 2006 Pathfinder back in Sep 09 with 34k on it and so far I love this vehicle. It has proven so far to be pretty reliable. When we had the big snow storm in DC I had 2 feet of snow in front of my truck and I didn't even shovel in front of the truck because just wanted to see how strong my truck was and proved to be a monster and just drove right over it in 4WD low. It has good pickup and takeoff power as well. The truck tire pressure light came on and I was worried because didn't see no problem but sure enough 2 weeks later I had a flat tire from a nail so the sensor was right to come on. The only drawback is that I only can put 16 gallons of gas in it and the 3rd row is small.
First SUV
This is our first SUV. We got the comfort and premimum packages. We needed the room for all the baby stuff, such as strollers, playpens, toys, etc..Even with all the baby stuff in the back we still had plenty of room after our Costco shopping trip too. The net and tie down anchors come in very handy. The handling around corners and going up and down hills is great. There is a lot of power, but you always feel in complete control. A very high quality vehicle.
Best you can buy for the money
Forget for a moment that this SUV just looks cool, forget that you can get a completely loaded LE for about 5k less than a 4Runner w/o DVD and NAV. And just focus on the fact that this machine is fun to drive. I traded in my G35 for something that would handle better and the snow. I thought I would be giving up comfort and performance but that was not the case. This SUV has incredible pick up for a standard engine, very comfortable seats and loads of features (STANDARD!!!) With so much to chose from I was becoming overloaded with info, but when it came down to it - Price, Quality, Performance and Design all came in one package - the Pathfinder. I'm thrilled with this purchase.
Tranny
There is a problem with the pathfinder that seems to be happening everywhere. For some reason the coolant from the radiator is leaking into the tranmisson and it is killing the tranny. Nissan says that is your problem not theirs. That is a cost of 7000 to fix. Can not afford to take that chance. Traded in my nissan and got another car and will never buy a nissan again.
my 3rd pathfinder
This is my third Pathfinder and the best one yet. I'm very happy with the changes in design and the size was a needed change for me as my family keeps getting bigger! My wife even enjoys driving it, as it handles comfortably like a car. Look for me to get the next one when it comes out.
Pathfinder Fun
Replaced a Dodge Durango with a Pathfinder. I enjoy having the same seating capacity as the Durango and a 4000 pound tow capacity in a vehicle that gets better gas mileage. Durango V8 was terrible on gas (under 13 mpg). The Pathfinder V6 is much better so far (averaging over 17 city but only have 900 miles on it to date. Also, I live in Arizona and the Durango air conditioning would not keep up. The Pathfinder has excellent air conditioning capacity. I find the handling and ride very similar in both vehicles. Pathfinder is a much quiter vehicle even though I have found more "plastic" in this vehicle as compared to the Durango.
Nissan Pathfinder
We like the Pathfinder, we own a vacation home in Michigans UP and driving in the deep snow, logging roads and hauling trailers is a breeze. We experienced a few issues, a recall, a bad tire pressure sensor and a window switch that needed replacement. Although the third row is tight, it comes in handy for toting kids around. Nice vehicle.
Fuel Gauge
Great car, BUT, it has a 21 gallon fuel tank and after the little yellow fuel light goes on and the gauge reads dead "E" it only takes 14 gallons of gas... It is still 1/3rd full and Nissan says that's normal. I spend a lot of un-needed time in the gas station when I know I can drive another 100 miles before I run out of gas. VERY ANNOYING! Also the interior blower motor makes a high-pitched ticking noise on low speeds. You can here it over the wonderful Bose sound system. I find myself heating up the car and then turning off the fan to enjoy the music. Nissan says thats normal also. I wish I could see the artist and song on the XM radio also. Fuel economy stinks. I'm getting avg. 15 mpg.
love it!
We bought the LE with Navigation a month ago and we love it. Very comfortable, versatile and stylish. We shopped for a new car for over a year and just couldn't find what we wanted - finally we settled on this and we don't regret it.
Awesome vehicle
Owned two pathefinders , 2003 and 2006 never had a warranty repair yet on either. Never needed brakes on the 2003 yet with 36,000 miles , just replaced tires once. Great vehicles. Nissan could inmprove rear end styling on the new 06 pathfinder, but i still love it.
made glad
Initial sqeak in dash quickly corrected by dealer-[the emergency brake pedal/lever required lubrication]. Everything since Perfect! Have previously owned two 4 runners, a pathfinder and an envoy-all good! The 06 pathfinder clearly The Best!
Good with a few flaws
This was a fine SUV for the price. The ride was good for a truck based SUV with plenty of power. However, with the power comes pretty meager gas mileage. On my daily commute, mainly highway driving, I barely averaged 17.5 mpg. The second row seating has relatively little leg room and is very tight with a rear facing child car seat. The car seat is literally touching the front seat unless the front seat is pulled way almost to the dash. The third row is useless for adults. It would be great if you could skip the third row and take the extra leg room. Overall, the Pathfinder is a great vehicle with great utility. Performs very well in the snow.
The Low Down
I bought this SUV for a few reasons. I've had succuss with Nissan (98 Frountier & 2000 Frountier Crew Cab) Owned a Jeep Grand Cher and had nothing but probs from brakes to trans. And I sold that after 19,000 miles. Anyways this SUV is good but not great to drive. Decent feedback but there is body sway on any quick type moves. Compared to Pilot and the Honda did NOTHING for me. Yes the Pilot does ride smoother but it's more like a station wagon feel and the interior was as blah as a 2000 Civic... Memory seats helps as I'm alot taller than the wife. Just use the key fob and the seats set up for you. Nice power to move through traffic. Brakes are fine. Soild SUV from a quality auto maker.
Seems great
Just took delivery of an '06 pathfinder LE with everything but leather. Comfortable, great stereo. Absolutely flies on the highway. Lots of room with the third row of seats down. Got an excellent deal on a lease and this vehicle beats anything I looked at before deciding on it.
Great car
I bought this car two weeks ago and I just love it. The driving is great, very classy and the car is well designed from inside and outside.
Tight
I looked at the 4runner, H3, Jeep Grand Chrokee and Pathfinder. I was looking for a SUV that was still a "truck" rather than a car crossover. The jeep has fallen out of the truck catagory for me. Its too low to the ground, does not have truck-like tires and no dealers seem to carry the two speed transfer case. The H3 was out b/c I have kids and it does not come with rear door locks anchors for child seats - no wonder GM can't give away its cars. I drove both the H3 and jeep and they also seemed cheap and the fit and finish was poor. The 4runner and pathfinder were both tight and had smooth-as-silk acceleration. I went with the pathfinder b/c you could get more options for the money.
2006 Pathfinder SE
I traded a 2001 xtera which was also a fine truck. The pathfinder was a little noisy until I put good tires on it and the noise level dropped quite a bit. My se is very tight fitting, solid on door closing I find the front seats very comfortable and my wife likes the electronic pedal adjustment. We tow a 23" boat with no problem. 45,000 miles and not one problem. Over all the best truck I have owned.
Awesome SUV
I've had my 2006 Pathfinder for about 5 months now and I love it. Its excellent. This is our second Pathfinder and definitely won't be our last. I may get a second one for my wife. We drove the competition and they just didn't measure up. The Pathfinder drives better, handles better, and is more comfy then any of the competitors.
Don't listen to the experts
Major manufacturers pay to have their name on the front cover of any magazine as "the truck of the year". You will not be disappointed with this vehicle. Totally refined inside and out, lots of power and will eat for breakfast a 4runner and a hummer will only see dust in their windshield. The only advice is to try one out for yourself and compare to others. Do not listen to the so-called expert.
amazing vehicle better than anything
So far its amazing I owned a 2001 Pathfinder,I just glad my wife pushed me for the all new Pathfinder, the changes more room, power and safety.
