Can be improved

I've driven this car about 20K miles in 16 months. OEM tires not so good, even though better ones are available for less. The driver's seat clicks when the car turns. The steering wheel vibrates when accelerating and / or stopping hard - takes some fun out of the driving. Fuel economy is very bad in city, though much better on the highway. Car interior uses cheap plastic in some places. That aside, the car has terrific passing power (shoots to 100mph easily) and corners extremely well. Intelligent ignition, heated steering wheel and bose music system are great. Car's exterior design is quite different. Folding rear seats are a plus. Leather quality is also good.

P0011 - Known Timing Chain Issue

I swore to myself I would never buy another Nissan after the transmission issues I had with an '83 Pulsar. Fast forward to Dec. of 2016 when looking for a safe, low cost family vehicle and I ended up with a 2007 Nissan Maxima. I even purchased this from Infiniti dealership thinking I would have a road worthy vehicle. (even AS IS) Well, 15 minutes after picking up the car, the check engine light came on. After being completely rejected by the dealership, spending over $800 to date, it was determined this vehicle had a well documented defective timing chain issue that resulted in a class action filing back in 2013. (Kobe Falco v. Nissan North America Inc et al) The next step is to fork out a further $2500 to fix the chain on a 10 year old vehicle or take my losses. Nissan (nor Infiniti) will never have my business under any circumstances ever again.

Nissan Maxima issues 2007 model

My Nissan Maxima has had a few issues. The battery died at 21,000 miles. The air conditioning goes on any time I try to change the mode on the heating system. The tires at 26,000 miles have to be replaced. The car does a poor job of handling on snow covered roads and because I live in NE Ohio this has been an issue. My previous car was a Chrysler 300 and I did not have any of these issues and the interior leather was of much better quality.

Previously owned a 2004 Max. The 07 is improved in both interior and exterior. The cvt is very smooth and torque steer greatly reduced. Acceleration about the same
