My Kicks 2020 experience in points..3106 Miles now
1-The car is really light and "City" nimble, also on an open road it will gradually gets to high speeds with good control yet if it is a windy day on the highway then the lightness of the car will not be much of grace as you might need extra grip on the steering and also the fuel efficiency will be a bit negatively affected. 2-CVT is not a crime but I personally do not like the car reaching almost 5000 or 6000 RPM just to get a little bit of extra acceleration...such nimble car would have excelled more with a regular Automatic transmission. 3-The ride is not that bumpy but you surely feel the details of every rock or pot-hole...maybe all crossovers are as such but the previous sedans I drove were better on this aspect. 4-Turning radius and car size is a bless in crowded cities but the Kicks would normally four adults...squeezing a fifth person might not be a very good idea. 5-The seats are NASA-inspired zero gravity...yet the downside of this aspect is that normal every non-human object you put on the car "shopping bags - bottles - ...." would heavily roll back and forth with every U-turn or relatively strong braking. 6-The hill start assist is good but do not expect to rev the engine and really increase the speed if a road is sloping upwards for like a mile or two...it would just take some time to get to the needed speed which bring us to the point that car the little underpowered with 1.6L and onlt 149NM torque with almost 120 HP that might not give you a sporty feeling. 7-Again..that CVT revving to get fast acceleration could be really loud "even if its for 2-3seconds" which some may find uncomfortable. I like the Kicks but Nissan should have given the car more power indeed.

Great new car
This car gets great mileage, better than my 2018 be passat with technology. The way I drive I get 36.5 overall average 40 Highway, 32-33 in city. This kicks is doing 36 city and 42 Highway. Yes slightly smaller but more fun to drive.

A lot for a Little
UPDATE: Following up with an update since I posted the last one below. I remain as happy now as I did when I first posted about my Kicks. It is now 6 months of ownership and I’m still very pleased with my purchase. Especially since gas prices seem to be rising higher and higher. In reality this has been the best vehicle purchase I have ever made, this ticks off all the boxes a person could have for the cost of the vehicle. I highly recommend the Nissan Kicks. It did take me a little while to get used to the CVT transmission but once you understand how the transmission works and what it does for your gas mileage it makes total sense and performs as it should. PREVIOUS REVIEW -> I’ve owned my 2020 Kicks SR for about a month now, I’ve driven on the highway several times but mostly city driving. The MPG is great on this car as I’m averaging 31.5 MPG. There is ample space in this vehicle and also is very comfortable. There are a lot of reviews out there saying that the car is under powered and has a lot fo cheap plastics inside. You get what you pay for and in the competition you pay a lot more so if that is what your looking for pay more but I say for the money the Kicks is a great value. The vehicle provides an up higher ride than a compact car, mileage is great and comfortable. For the average person this will handle most anything you need to carry in the hatch and in the cabin it will accommodate 4 people comfortably. There is plenty of tech and the Bose system is awesome. If you are looking for a vehicle that will handle your daily needs of driving, carrying a few passengers and the trip to the market this is for you. If you are looking for a vehicle that has AWD, drives like a sports car, and pampers you in luxury then a different vehicle should be looked at but for my money I say this is a great value.

From a Juke to a Kicks
I’ve driven my new Kicks for over 5,000 miles. I’m a commuter. I had a first edition Juke for 7 years and the engine blew at 90,500 miles... I loved the Juke and the get-up-and-go power but after facing replacing and engine and turbo... I decided that wasn’t entirely important. The dealership did right by me and my broken Juke and I had my eye on the black SR Kicks.. I’m a larger person (tall and chubby) and I don’t find the Kicks uncomfortable at all.. I love the look, it gets great mileage and while it doesn’t have that super power of a Juke, it’s not that bad.. I do well on the highway at rush hour... I have no real complaints.. so far it’s a good little car.. when it rains hard the front end camera gets disabled often.. but overall.. I’m pleased..

Very comfortable to drive & fuel efficient
With an hp-122 I’m very impressed how comfortable driving in highway although many people saying bad reviews about it. I chose SV Trim because I didn’t like the orange stitching interior on SR. It lacks of storage on armrest but have large cargo space. It lacks of AWD option but FWD made it more fuel efficient.

Excellent mileage, and good comfort with premium
So far I am averaging 34.4. Miles per gallon with 80 percent city stop and go and 20 percent highway. My best highway mile per gallon was 46.9 for a 147 miles trip at 70 mph. The radio is good with the Bose, the zero gravity seating is excellent for trips. Acceleration is good for the size and weight of the car with a cvt transmission and stopping distance has not be an issue, I have been pleased with the stopping distance; although I am not in the car for speed and late stopping due to not paying attention to surroundings and trafffic.

Great!!!
We love our 2020SR Kicks. With my 6’5” length I have plenty of room. The drivers seat goes up to a nice height, I wish the passenger seat was adjustable too. The seats in general are good, could be a bit softer though. 360 camera view is very handy. Bose sound system is great. Led headlights are awesome as well as automatic high/low beam. We don’t care that it is not real peppy, we don’t speed at all. We get 37mpg average, which we like the best. Fuel milage was one of the reasons we looked at the Kicks and it’s not disappointing at all. At 120 km/h it’s a bit noisy but not worse than any other small vehicle We like the infotainment system with voice commands. Overall very happy so far after 5000 km.

Climate control is trash
I bought a 2020 Nissan Kicks SV with 7100 miles on it. It wasn't cold when I test drove it, so didn't test the heat. Huge mistake. This car has the auto climate control system. It blows hot at 62 and cold at 61. And when I say hot, I mean melt your face hot. I assumed it was just the auto climate control so I put it on manual. Same thing. If it's cold outside it blows extremely hot at 62 and cold at 61. After driving awhile it cools off some and eventually blows cold at 62. No way to get comfortable in this car. Either cold or hot, no in-between. Have been to the dealer and was told it is functioning as designed. Contacted Nissan, they also said they contacted the mechanics(same mechanics apparently) and it was functioning as designed. I have flagged down 4 Kicks owners in parking lots and 3 had no issues with the heat, 1 had the same issue I have. If it was designed this way shouldn't all kicks owners have the same issue? Seems like a flaw to me. Also, the headlights get brighter under acceleration. Not the auto dim feature, lights just get slightly brighter, almost like fog lights have been turned on. This car doesn't have fog lights. Interior lights do the same. Dealer mechanic said, and I quote, "We tested a brand new kicks (2021) and it's doing the same thing. It's just because Nissan uses weird alternators and there is a fluctuation in the voltage". Really? Shouldn't the system be designed to level that out? Pretty sure it is. I asked another mechanic about it and he couldn't tell me if it was normal or not due to the alternator being controlled by the computers algorithms and he was unsure what it was supposed to do. This was a 28 year Nissan mechanic. Unreal. I used to believe that Nissan was a quality brand. My dad had a small Nissan truck from the 90's that lasted forever. I no longer consider Nissan anything other than junk. And, honestly, the customer service at the dealers that I am dealing with is absolutely abysmal. Run, don't walk, far away from this vehicle and thank me later. Great gas mileage, but nothing but headaches.
DO NOT GET THIS
I bought the Nissan kicks 2 years ago from the dealership. This SUV is not safe at all. I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden on the dash it read ‘Malfunction’. I was no longer able to press on the gas, I went from 90 kms to 0 kms in 2 minutes. I quickly had to swerve in the right lane as my vehicle was no longer in my control. DO NOT get this vehicle it is dangerous. There was already a recall on the rear camera.

Upgrade, but wish i looked for more options
I love this 2020 Nissian Kicks SR. I upgraded from a boring 2014 Nissian Versa. So far this car hasn’t given me much trouble. I agree with the user that posted that it doesn’t have much horsepower and can be loud when you accelerate. Another annoying part of the Kicks is that it has an awful habit of having errors with the front camera when it is foggy or frosted over. But overall it has very good gas mileage and has a lot of specs i was looking for with a car. the 360° camera is helpful and useful. Although I would’ve considered a Rogue or a Hyundai Kona in comparison to this car, I am pleased with how well this car has maintained its own for the past 5,000 miles I have owned it!

ONE OF A KIND VEHICLE
My 2020 Nissan kicks is just running perfectly fine and I recommend this vehicle because it saves gas and also provides you with an advanced technology
Cupholder will drive you mad 😡
The car is great... But the cupholder, will make you not want this car. Which is crazy. Such a cheap dumb thing. The cupholder is just a giant rectangle. I doesn't fit big drinks because it's skinner. Won't fit a normal tumbler, and since it's just a big rectangle, if it's not completely filled, whatever drink is in it just sloshes back and forth, if it's a a can it'll just flip on it's side. Such a dumb poor design. If they sell something to fix this, it's an ok car. I had to go to chic fil a , get a 2 drink holder, stuff it inside it, for somewhere to put my drinks and save my sanity.

Would not recommend
Where do I start. Only had the vehicle since November 27, 2020. Having issues with senors working improperly for the most part. The new issue is while driving all the warning lights came on and the car was trying to cut off thankfully I got to pull off the road. Have to take it to dealer but already was told the good thing is that the lights went back out. I would not recommend this vehicle not worth the money. This is the worse car I ever had I would not get this they need to throw the whole car away and start over. I hate that I even have to make payments on this. No a good vehicle in my option

The 8 speaker Bose system is the BOMB !!!!
Spend the extra 3 grand and get the SR version.....you get a sweet Bose sound system with fake leather seats that are very decent. Yeah, you can't win any drag races with the Kicks, but who cares? This is a very big bang for the buck at less than 25 grand !!!!

I get a KICK out of my KICKS!
I am a small women and found the car a perfect fit for me..getting in or out..comfortable inside not overwhelmed just arm rest to short and narrow as I have to have my seat forward so far in order to be comfortable with gas and brake pedals. Minor inconvenience..definitely glad I chose my KICKS!
Very underrated car!
I’ve had my 2020 Kicks for almost a year now, I’ve had absolutely NO ISSUES with the car. until about a month ago, but let me start with it’s a technology issue not an engine or CVT issue, thankfully. The crash sensors periodically flash at me but don’t beep at me. When I got my oil changed at around 3,200 miles we had them look at it and they explained that it could’ve kept flashing because something could have just triggered it but they ended up resetting it and told us to keep an eye on it. It flashed again but it was 26° outside when it started to flash I don’t know if that could’ve been what set it off I’m not sure I’m still going to keep an eye on it and if it ends up continuing to flash even if it’s not cold then I’ll have to take it in again. I also know that the front sensor crash warning will flash when it’s cold that is normal for all Nissans but however the whole thing flashing meaning the front crash sensor and the line detectors is not normal. But i love my kicks. It’s very comfortable and I recommend this car to anyone.

Sensor issues and ABS issues
I’ve had my Nissan kicks since 2020 and she has about 66000 miles on her. I was driving one day and all of the sudden all off her sensor light up. Take her in they say ABS and lane departure camera cost me over 5000 to get fixed. Not even one month later I’m driving her and she won’t reverse and guess what more lights. Finally get her out and she won’t accelerate took a while to get her home. Next day take her up to Nissan and now it’s the sonar control unit and the throttle body and MAF, they want another 2100. Talked to the mechanic at Nissan and his response is that the kicks have these issues all the time. Dealership wanted to try to get me upgraded to a brand new kicks. SMH, why would I want another if this is a regular issue. I could’ve taken my 7000-8000 and used a down payment on car that’s not going to keep having electrical issue after issue. I know I will NEVER get another Nissan again, I’ll stick to my Toyota’s.

Krappy Kicks
Dealer asked several times to trade in our 2017 Sentra because they were looking for used cars. Feeling this might be an opportunity to get a new car we went to Spinelli Nissan as we had purchased several cars there over the years thinking we would receive a reasonable deal. We ended up choosing a Nissan Kicks and after driving it just under 9000 km find we made the wrong choice. The price of this car is no big deal , the gas milage is terrible ( a gas guzzler), the drive is not bad but doeas not compare with Hyundai or Kia similar cars. The passenger seat is not adjustable which is a cheap marketing tool and should be automatic as in all cars over the years ( a Nissan money saver ) With all the new cars out this car and for the price why could there not have been an automatic trunk opener ? The car motor sounds like it's forcing each time I start from a standing spot. How can a company that over the years have produced good cars sell this one at the price and not have any advantages ? Perhaps I should have gotten the Sentra instead and why are the sales reps pushing cars that to me are not quite acceptable. If I could I would change this Kicks for a Sentra tomorrow.
Getting my Kicks
Love my car it performs well and love to drive.
Disappointed
Love the steering radius and quick take-off! Perfect size for me and my pup. Most of the electronics features DON'T work. I've had the SV in service three times and tried to fix the problem but the issue always returned so I gave up trying.
Overall I like my Nissan Kicks
I love the seats in my Kicks. They are good for my back. Great gas mileage. Good sensors and safety features

Decent Kicks
Fuel efficient. The only thing I don't like is the back seat does not lay flat for maximum storage capacity.
Problems at 20,000 miles
I purchased the 2020 Nissan kicks SR with 17,000 miles at 20,000 miles the fuel gauge got stuck at full tank! Would not go down at all
Love my kicks
I love everything about it.
