My Birmingham Diamante
6 cylinder, SOHC. Excellent reliability, performance. Important to have qualified mechanics do the major maintenance, such as timing belt replacement. Premium tires make a big difference in quality of ride and handling. The only complaint I have had is the turning radius.
Loved the car, then....
The anti-lock brake light would come on when I drove on the highway. Dealer couldn't figure it out...eventually I took it in for a tune up and the dealer told me my whole ABS brake system was shot and it would cost over $4,000 to fix it! I was sick when I had to sell the car for junk...with only 130,000 miles on it...not good for a car these days.
Where are the horses?
Very reliable with absolutely no unscheduled repairs. Repairs when done are expensive. It gets me to work with novicained senses.
Best Car I've Ever Owned!
I now have about 328,000 miles on this car and have had it since it was new. Besides normal maintenance (brakes, tires, filters, etc), I've only replaced a ball joint, alternator, engine manifold exhaust pipe, and fuel injectors. The engine and tranny are original and in great condition. There is no sign of them wearing out yet. I've gotten more than my money's worth out of this car. It still looks great with only very small spots of rust just developing on the front fenders just behind the wheels. The cloth interior also still looks great with no signs of wear. I've never had a car like this before.
1995 Mitsubishi DiamanteLS Outstanding!
This is the best car I've ever owned. I traded this car in for a top of the line SUV. The biggest mistake of my life! I have grieved this car everyday since. Mileage to fuel was great, twenty dollars rode all week. I am currently in the market for a duplicate to keep 4ever. Wish I had researched prior to trading, would still have my Mitsubishi D. The cars have gone downhill since 95.
