I love these cars I've had two first gen and currently my second gen. No other car that I have driven puts a smile on my face like the Mini S. I bought my 07 used and threw a handfull of cash at it for parts but I knew what I was getting too when I bought it. The problems with these cars are no secret and a lot of it is caused by BWS's maintenance schedule. Here's a 1.6 liter engine that puts out 172hp over 177lbs of torque with a turbocharger. 10k-15k between oil changes is way too long for a little engine that works that hard in my opinion. it also has a horrible PCV system and that's why they eat oil especially when the PCV needs to be replaced. Then you have the issue with build up on the intake valves all direct injected engines will this problem down the road at some point. The PCV system is why it's more frequent with the N14 engine. Now with that being said, what a blast to drive I love my 07 R56 S incredible car the six speed manual is perfect, when you get into a corner and blast your way out and the car reacts in a responsive manner like the Mini It's man and machine. I do my own repairs and maintenance and keep on it. Amazing little cars that just need a little extra loving. Oh yeah Ms. Aiden is Chili red and white she named herself. Aiden means Little Fire lol and that car is every bit of that.

The Mini is fun to drive and gets good gas mileage but it has two serious faults that would keep me from buying another Mini. First, the speedometer is off over 5 mph at 75 mph, the speedometer reads 80 mph when I am going 75 mph. I called Mini and they said that this was within design specs and they wouldn't and couldn't make the speedometer accurate. The other problem is with the road noise. It is difficult to talk on a cell phone at highway speeds. If they would fix these two issues and offer better customer service it would be a great car.

Had the car for only a few weeks. Lot's of fun to drive. Always drove Honda products--MINI could take some hints on interior feature design.

Great little car. Harsh ride though. Lots of Rattles and squeaks. Never has let me down. Great mileage I'm getting 42mpg with my modifications.

I've only had it a week so the reliability rating may be bogus but this is the most fun you can have on four wheels. I find myself looking for twisty, winding roads. It is relatively inexpensive to buy and extrememly economical to drive. All that and a fast, very nimble drive as well! I couldn't be happier (but wait till next week...)
