Excellent car for the price
I bought the LTS model with the 1.8 liter engine new in 1992 and have only had to perform normal vehicle maintenance (e.g. change oil, battery, tires, etc.) The car ran great from the time I purchased it and is still running great with 93,000 miles. There are no oil or other fluid leaks. I have owned at least ten other cars of many makes and models; and this one is the best of them all.
1993 Mercury Tracer
I had good experience with this car until about two years or 22,000 mile ago. This is a very inexpensive car up to about 80,000 miles. Then you need to unload this car because many problems will arise. My major issue now is that the transmission began failing about a year ago (would not shift to overdrive). Now the problems are worst. I couldn't get $50 for this car now.
good basic transportation
A good reliable car. You will be surprised how much stuff you can fit in this car. The gas milage is not as good as on other small models... 26 MPG for mixed driving; No more than 28 on highway. The automatic seatbelts are somewhat annoying.
Great Little Car!
This little wagon is the second most reliable car I have ever owned, next to my '77 Camaro. It gets great gas mileage in both city and especially highway. It has plenty of room for trips to Home Depot, or taking my two Dobermans to the park. Of course, don't expect to win any races (hah!), and other drivers seem to take pleasure in cutting you off.
terrible everything
my dad got me this car thinking it would be a great teen first car and all we have had is trouble Starter Brakes and everything imaginable cracked head is the worst!
