Why go for an imitation when MB is best?

I expected an excellent vehicle and Mercedes-Benz delivered far more than that in this 2006 ML350. Each and every segment and system is flawless. With the air-ride it handles like a sports car, nimble and sure footed, and the power plant runs you down the road like a bat outta hell. The highway mileage is about 24+ cruising at 70 MPH, around town about 17mpg. After looking and driving all the other manufacturers current offerings, many had some similar characteristics, but none had them all in such a well put together, comfortable, and driving machine. A must buy for any serious luxury SUV shopper

I went from a Navigator to the M- Class. I love the handling of this SUV because it feels like a car. It has tight handling and you should check out the lean when driving in a curve. It has all the luxurious that say "Mercedes" but is also fun to drive. The new body style is sportier and doesn't look like a minivan. It is an SUV I plan to keep for a while.

I'm probably one of the first buyers of this '06 ML350. An awesome drive, very quiet, low road noise, and excellent navigation. The best transmission in the industry. It makes the RX look like a baby toy crying for more room and horsepower. I already have driven 5500 miles. I love it.

Bought the new 2006 ML350 in April. Same complaint as a lot of other owners, the transmission is erratic at low speed, it would sometime downshift hard at low speed for no reason. The service guy said this is fixed with new programming. However have not have chance to verify it, since the car is still in the shop for major repair. After driving for 3600 miles, the low engine oil indicator came up. Brought the car to shop and found engine oil leaks in multiple places. The car is in the shop for about 3 weeks now, requiring parts from Germany. Would very much like MB to take the defective ML350 back. This is all too sad, the car is high performance and fun to drive without doubt.

Just bought it and I love it. It is really fun to drive. The interior is very comfortable and all components are at your fingertips. The gear shift is innovative and easy to use. I love the new design. In fact, I can't stop looking at it, and it's the same for other drivers. Excellent performance. The ride is so smooth even at high speed. Engine is real quiet but purrs upon acceleration. I would recommend this car to anyone.

Just traded my wife's Lexus LX470 for the new ML. Nice car. She found the LX too big for her to drive as she does not drive the freeways, so in a smaller segment, this is the best product out there. Not enough standard features for a 50k auto! Don't compare it with the LX470. Other than that, this car has more bang for the buck than any other SUV on the road!

I love this car. It’s my first Mercedes Benz. I had a 2001 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, and words cannot even describe the difference. I'm in love, and so glad I waited. I never liked the previous body style, but this one is sleek, smooth, and beautiful. So many heads are turning when I glide by people. Don't see many on the street in Los Angeles though.

We grew out of our C230 into a ML350. We live on a twisty two lane hwy so safety is a must. 5 stars all around sold us on safety. We love the looks and comfot. I love the cup holders. We looked at Lexus 330 and the safely features were optional, and my tall frame could not fit in the driver seat. Three 1,000 mile road trips a year and always trouble free and we can step out feeling refreshed after several hours. 24mpg at 75/80 mph. and 20mpg around town. Enough power to get out of the way or pass. Stable on corners too. Love the transmission and gear select. Over 45,000 miles and no problems, makes us glad we chose the ML. We also like the 10 to 15 thousand mile oil change intervals.

Compared to the previous years model, the redesigned 2006 model is more stable on the road, has better suspension, and perfect acceleration in this line of SUVs. Test drove Infiniti, BMW, Acura. ML is by far better in pretty much any of the categories - road and curve handling, braking, acceleration. Fun to drive.

After having numerous problems with an 02 ML-320 we decided to try the new ML and to step up to the 500. Within 2 weeks the car began to "shudder" at lights and the headlights dimmed. The dealer kept the vehicle for another week and changed some electronic component which cured nothing. The car is very powerful and gorgeous.

I bought the car in May 05 and returned it within a week due to transmission problems at low speed. When in traffic there is a loud bang when upshifting or downshifting between first and second gears. I received the following comments from the dealer: 1. The vehicle is operating within normal limits 2. The vehicle has to adapt to the driving pattern of the particular driver and has a "memory" that can only be reset if the car is driven from 80mph to 0mph without braking and coming to a complete stop. 3. The vehicle needs software updates. After the 6th return I made a huge stink and they replaced the transmission. So far everything seems to be ok but I no longer have confidence in MB.

I have had my ML 350 for 6 months. In that time it has been in for service 5 times. When the car is not in the shop, it is a pleasure to drive, even in the 6 months of snow here in Alaska. If you are going to spend the money, make sure your dealership understands what "customer service" is. I failed to do so and now find myself wishing I had taken my money elsewhere.

I did my research before buying my ML350. I love it! It's beautiful and rides like a dream. I'm on the road a lot and needed a comfortable ride. I am also tall, so it was important that there was great leg and head room. It runs great! Absolutely no complaints. The controls and gadgets inside are designed with a lot of thought to detail. It's a fun SUV to drive and I would recommend it above the competition any day. Drive one today if you are looking for beauty inside and out, you won't be sorry.

This new ML is entirely different than the previous model. It is smooth as glass. With a new unitized body and 7 forward gears, this car has the most car-like ride of any sport utility available today. Performance is surprisingly powerfull. Easy to drive yet rugged when it has to be. This new ML has huge interior space. Makes the RX 330 look like a Tonka-toy when you park next to one.

The vehicle was ordered with a factory installed towing package. It was forgotten by the factory and can not be added post-market. It also mated with the Mercedes bicycle rack. This was a real bummer. The dealership said this was a fairly common factory problem. Not great for the Alabama Mercedes Quality Control. While I was offered a few sweeteners to take a vehicle without the towing package, it ended up leaving a somewhat sour taste in my mouth. I have contacted Germany to see if more can be done. I thought they were really committed to getting the US factory bugs worked out. The center console opens in two different ways and the latch sticks. That is a minor concern.

I have had my ML350 for 4 months now, and have driven on a couple of extended trips during that time. As well as it drives, it looks even better. Folks really check it out when I drive by! The handling is superb, and it is a very quick, comfortable machine to drive. I thought the 20.5 mpg on the highway was a tad low, but, I do have a tendency to drive a bit faster than a good speed for economical driving. My wife loves to drive the suv, and she says she feels very safe and comfortable in it. I am 67 and I have had my share of luxury vehicles. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for the safety and practicality of an SUV, and the comfort of a luxury car.

I own two Mercedes trucks. One 2001 ML430 and a 2006 ML350.The ML430 came with more options like a giant sunroof(sky view top),it came with a designer colors option, heated seats came standard, navigation came standard, the Ml430 is slightly smaller but still came with a 3rd row seat package(Ml350 didnt)it also came with a safe under the passenger's seat. I think Mercedes need's to bring back those options and come up with more because Mercedes-Benz is suppose to be extraordinary mine looks extrodinary on they outside but it's really ordinary under it's flashy outside and Mercedes-Benz logo's.

My first MB. Has rough downshift from 2nd to 1st gear. Acceleration gets better after 500+ miles. One day after a heavy rain, the CD player failed to eject the CD and displayed "no CD" in the unit and I had to use a plier to pull it out. The rear door also failed to open at the same time.

This is my first SUV after 40 years of driving. As soon as I started the test drive I knew this ML350 Benz was for me.The vehicle rides very smooth, absorbs all bumps and hugs the road, especially on highway curves. It handles extremly well due to its easy steering and great turning radius. A quick response to acceleration when needed, and an awesome braking system help add to a fun and excellent driving experience.

I've owned my new ML350 for a short time, but I can tell you that it is extremely nice. The vehicle is a smooth ride, and handles exceptionally well. The only drawback, if I must name one, is the gas mileage, but that's to be expected, being an SUV. It takes $60, roughly, to fill the tank, but it does seem to last a while. I highly recommend this vehicle for it's style, functionality, luxury, and safety features. After all, it's a Mercedes Benz! You can't, and won't go wrong here.

I just bought my ML350 2006 and one week later, the service indicator lit up and said that I am 350 days overdue for service. I brought it back to the service department and re-set the indicator. 4 days later, the indicator lit again saying that I am 120 days overdue for service B. Also, the passenger door got jammed even when unlocked during a cold spell here (- 30F). This never happened in my previous 2003 ML350. How come MB is always plagued with electronic problems? Doesn't MB test their products for winter weather as cold as Alaska? SUVs are made for winter weather so they should test their products for winter.

Love the drive, the ride, and the looks... But Mercedes has some issues to work out. Nickel and diming on the options list for a $50,000 truck any way you slice it - doesn't leave the buyer with a warm and fuzzy. Had a 2001 ML - Dimming Mirrors, memory seats et al came with the package. Why cheap up? Nav/Radio/CD has died on me 3 times. Alternator took two weeks to get part after it failed. Hard downshift issue continues to be a problem - especially as I use it in moderate off-road. (Although DSL works great!) And I've only had it since mid-September! If you go off road at all, get the air shocks. 19" wheels otherwise will bottom under moderate conditions.

Picked up my ML 350 Nov 2005. After driving 25 miles the "Check coolant level" message came up. I took it to the dealer who checked the hoses. 75 miles later the same message reappeared. The dealer said to bring it in. They found a leak in the head gasket, and the car had only 650 miles on the odometer. But the most frustrating thing is I took it in on Jan 19th. It is now March 2 and the car is still in the shop!According to the dealer all parts have to come from Germany. I am at my wits end. For a $50,000 car this is totally unacceptable! This is Mercedes reliabilty for you!

So far so good. If you don’t mind going to the gas pump often, then you will enjoy the ML 500. Style and comfort is very good, the upgraded sound system and navigation is a must have. Lots of room for what ever you decide to put back there. The power hatch is the only thing that seems to be a concern at times. It will not shut all the way at times, so becomes a little bit challenging. Overall is expensive but let’s not forget it's Mercedes Benz.

Can't wait for the turbo-diesel variant. Great vehicle. Best I've ever owned. Best Aspect : Ride/Drive quality. Driver's position excellent to adapt to any driver. After 6 hour drive, feel like you've only driven 1 hour. Economy - 21 at highway speeds. Good for an SUV Worst Aspect : Eats tires. 25k and had to replace all 4. Needs a full size spare mounted beneath vehicle instead of space saver in trunk

I traded in my E-430 with may more hp's but I am extremely happy with the handling of this SUV. In terms of gas mileage, it beats other SUV's thanks to its superb 7 gears. Still it packs enough power to reach 130mph and the handling at that speed is surprisingly good.

A winner. Superior to 2002 ML, it rides like a sedan. Standard features, plus sunroof and one interior package with leather inserts areall you need. Auto trunk opening is required for little women. The shift lever on steering column seems strange at first. Loads of standard features rather than extras on most of the competition. I never plan to off road. The only drawback is that it still uses premium fuel. My wife really likes it a lot. Not your Durango or Explorer, far more upscale and shows it. Smooth ride, and handles well. It has all the engine needed for city and highway driving. I highly recommend this car if you can afford it.

Is it a girly SUV?

I had a choice between a RR sport, Infiniti QX56, and the ML. Benz was the best choice. It looked small from the outside, but once I got behind the wheel, I don't know what they did to the windshield or dash but, boy it is roomy. Thought it was a girly SUV, as most were driven by women, so I had to go with the AMG package, and I can say that was the best thing ever. It's been a week and 3 days since I've owned it and I can tell you that I am the talk of my block. AMG is the way to go if you are a guy(I have yet to see an other AMG out there), and make sure you add some 22" rims as the only exterior accessory. Now that is a Manly Macho ride. I love it. As an intro to luxury SUV, this is it.

I am so happy with the purchase of my ML 350. It is so comfortable and quiet. It offers wonderful performance and and bank vault-like structure. My old car was a 2003 BMW 545. I was a afraid that because it is an SUV it wouldn't be able to cruise like my Bimmer did. After owning it for a couple weeks all my worries drifted away. My ML 350 feels faster and more willing to go fast than my Bimmer did.
