Never will buy another Mercedes Benz, now I have a Volvo (a much better car. Benz should built a better car for this kind of price I have it seating in my driveway because the latest is the the horn flat ribbon cable inside the steering wheel assembly it broke & came off (my horn doesn't work anymore), never heard this from any other car before shame on Mercedes-Benz-forget about the steering power pump I've paid twice to have it fix beside the recall- interior clothe by the windshield id coming off (both sides). No more Mercedes-Benz for me.

Possibly the worst SUV on the planet?

At 40K miles, 3 sets of complete brake pads and rotors, 2 navigation systems, complete fuel system replaced, 1 set of exterior mirrors, headlamps with so much condensation they look like fish tanks (but the dealership says it's normal??), antitheft is so good that it even locks me out and the transmitters won't unlock the vehicle (the key will, but then the alarm sounds and wont stop until you disconnect the battery---no wonder my neighbors won't speak to me anymore). I can go on for days, but if I can give anyone advice if they are even CONSIDERING buying this vehicle......turn and run and don't look back!

Mercedes Service Manager's Nightmare

The first day we brought it home, it wouldn't start, and had to be towed back in! Then the GPS wouldn't work, Oh yes, the telephone technology was obsolete from the date of purchase. Mercedes knew about it, but their rep told us, you paid for a phone, you got a phone. Then there are the windows. Ask anyonw who has owned one. The switches are bad. On at least five separate occasions the windows wouldn't roll back up. the cupholders, the Service Manager at Towson Valley Motors said, "Oh,they all fall out!" Oops. Almost forgot the glue that comes up from the window and makes a mess that can only be cleaned by the dealership. Another, "it happens all the time!"

Bought this ML new the first month the radio went! within a year I had to replace a power window switch, Rear pillar panel, and the top of the center armrest. within 18 months transmission leaked. The second winter the front heated seats quit. Not at all what you would expect from a Benz.

Nice to drive, expensive to maintain

Nice car to drive. It handles well. All in all I really like the vehicle. Unfortunetly Mercedes doesnt make a reliable car. In the five years that I owned it these are some of the problems that I had or at least the ones that I can remember. Windows wouldn't go up, replaced button pad twice. Brakes went after 40,000. Requires ceramic pads very expensive. Key wouldn't turn in steering wheel lock. Catalytic converter had a cracked tube and sounded like a boat until I got it fixed. Front headlight had to be replaced after 15,000. Rear light holder on inside rear door had to be adjusted. Wires under passenger seat rattled. Some part on the air intake need replacing $ 500. Now the gas gauge isnt working .Great!

Meeting Expectations

My first MB. I like the ride, handling, safety, and sound system. Disappointed with quality issues (body dents easily, sensor light problems, window switches not functioning, I lost power steering prior to recall, air conditioner "weak" in hot weather). Biggest disappointment is: engine is burning oil and requires additional trips to dealer to "top off" oil between "computer approved" dealer services. Dealer's solution: change oil more often (at my expense). This ML320 hasn't met my expectations of the quality I associated with MB products. I believe the MB reputation of retaining value is being significantly damaged.

Satisfaction

Hard ride. Defrost system clumsy to operate. Have to be constantly careful steering because it is very sensitive. Like being high. No place to put purse in front when there is someone in passenger seat. Great storage at waste high trunk. Don't like having to pay for highest octane gasoline. Good ride on interstates. Feel every bump on local streets.

Overall, great vehicle, great handling and fun to drive. Excellent acceleration for the weight of this vehicle and the safety is top notch.
