Owned for 1/2 day,Will re-evaluate when it's fixed

Drove off the dealer lot in my new GLE450e, with 8 miles on it. Within two hours, at 16 miles, the hood latch alarm activated and the car would not stay in EV mode. Visual inspection showed the hood was not aligned with right fender, but it was when I left the dealer. Drove back to the dealer and the hood unlatched while driving with a service tech in the car. Service manager thinks one latch is defective. Received a loaner. Had the car less than four hours, and it suffered a serious safety issue. I was planning on a trip the following day, and I hate to think that the hood could have unlatched and caused me to have an accident at highway speeds. I will update this post when it is repaired. How does a car with an issue like this pass quality control inspections at the factory and at the dealer?

GLE 450E Lemon

MB Lemon, 03/08/2024

I purchased my 2024 GLE450E in September 2023. Shortly after 40 days, with less than 1,000 miles on the car, the service engine light came on. The dealership did not get me in for two weeks, but gave me the car back the next day telling me the car is good to go. 13 miles after picking the car up, the dashboard reported "Performance Extremely Limited" followed by something like "Pull over and Stop Immediately", at which point the accelerator pedal did nothing. A tow back to the shop resulted in 7 days in the shop. Three days after picking up the car at the chop again, the car reported "Performance Extremely Limited". I switched it to Battery Hold which let me drive the 1.5 miles back home to have it towed back to the shop. About 42 days later I was told the car was ready to be picked up, this was the end of December 2023. Mid-February the Service Engine light came back on resulting in another day in the shop, apparently a sensor in the charging port door. At no time has anyone from AutoNation nor Mercedes Benz offered any compensation, a replacement for what seems to be a Lemon. AutoNation has simply told me Mercedes Benz will ask them what I want, but Mercedes Benz has asked me what AutoNation has offered. Note that when the car's service engine light came on the first time, I lifted the hood and noticed an air delivery hose completely detached and another whose clamps were completely disengaged. When towing the second time, I noticed a twisted pair wire hanging under the car between the muffler and the bumper. These items indicate, to me, the car was not assembled properly, perhaps why it is spending so much time in the shop. I cannot recommend any AutoNation dealership nor Mercedes Benz who has not called me back after filing a complaint with them in late December / Early January. They have my money and do not care, clearly.

Quiet, Confident, Magical. Perfection.

I test drove quite a few luxury SUVs before the GLE 450, but then I finally tried it... Love at first sight. At present I've driven it for over a year, and still can't suppress a huge smile every time I climb in - It only gets better with time. It's more than the sum of the parts. Sure, excellent build quality, beautiful materials inside, butter smooth inline six engine with more than enough power, great handling, all the fancy tech you could want, more leather than a herd of cows... Blah blah, I could go on. But the real magic happens in how all those things come together into one incredible vehicle. It's not the flashiest looking SUV in its category, or the fastest. It's not trying to be a sports car, or an off-road mud crawler, or anything else it's not. It is unapologetically a luxury vehicle and oozes the quiet confidence of something designed exactly for that purpose by people who knew exactly what they were doing and did their job with focus and pathological attention to detail. There are other SUVs I tried that ticked most or all of the same boxes, objectively good machines, but they didn't even come close to the GLE. If I had to pick one thing to highlight, it would be the interior: The first thing you'll notice is how elegant it looks and feels, and those prominent twin screens in the dash (which don't stick out of the top like they were an afterthought as in so many other cars). Exclusive to the pinnacle trim is a crisp heads-up display that I absolutely love and can't live without now. The HUD works fine in direct sunlight, and when using the built-in navigation it displays a map floating before your eyes, which feels like you're driving in a video game. Every interaction with the car's interior and infotainment system feels well thought out and well executed. Seats are very comfortable and the massage function (with quite a few different massage programs available) is better than I ever imagined it would be. When winter came, I got another pleasant surprise: It's not just the seats and steering wheel that are heated. The door panels and center console are also heated, which feels amazing when it's freezing out, and you can adjust which areas receive more heat. The worst trend in modern cars, if you ask me, is moving virtually every single function into awkward touchscreen menus... I tried an otherwise nice 2024 BMW X5 that was ruined by a particularly horrible example of this. The GLE ignores this trend and includes buttons for everything important. Nice, solid feeling, satisfying, tactile, real buttons! These buttons are laid out in a way that makes sense, as if the engineers knew that a car should stay out of your way and just let you focus on driving. I've never needed to use the touchscreen while driving: All your climate settings, heated/cooled seats and seat adjustments, exterior 360 camera view, maps, phone interface have real physical controls, and I sincerely hope they keep it that way in future models. As in other Benzes, you also get a laptop-like touchpad in the center console (surrounded by buttons for the map, cameras, drive modes, etc.) which works nicely and allows you to do things like navigate on-screen menus or scroll through your music without using the touchscreen. The touchpad also includes a nice wrist rest behind it, making it easy to use without looking down at it. There's also a voice assistant, but I rarely use it since everything important has physical controls. Speaking of the center console, that's another aspect worth noting. It's large, elegant, solid, and features two sturdy grab bars on either side. These serve two purposes: Making you feel like you're in a spaceship, and making it easier for older or disabled people to get into the car. Just another of the small details that really add up to something special. Honorable mention goes to the engine and handling. The inline six in the GLE 450 is smooth as butter and more than powerful enough, featuring both a large turbo and an electric supercharger to pick up the slack while the turbo spools up, and a 48V mild hybrid system that gives it a nice extra acceleration boost when you take off. And that sound... When you floor it, the engine goes from quiet and polite to a roaring beast with just the right amount of audible turbo noise. That never gets old. Handling is excellent. Other nice things worth mentioning: - It comes with excellent Pirelli all-season tires, not run-flats, and includes a real spare tire! Many other cars today come with run-flats and a near-useless inflator kit instead of a spare tire, since it's cheaper. - There's a built-in dashcam feature, you just need to pay $200 one-time to activate it and buy a USB-C memory stick for storage. It records in 720p from one of the windshield cameras. - All the accessories that would normally run off a belt from the engine (coolant pump, air conditioner, etc) instead run off the 48V electrical system. This means when it's 110 degrees outside and the engine shuts off at a stop light (which you can still disable) the A/C keeps working at full capacity. Incidentally, the A/C is noticeably more powerful than any other car I've driven and cools the car down FAST. - The Burmester sound system is freaking awesome. And now for the few minor details that I think could use improvement. These aren't problems by any means, but worth mentioning: - When using the remote start, the engine will shut off once you open the door. Remote start is also limited to run for only 10 minutes, and can only be used twice in a row before manually starting the engine. This isn't exclusive to the GLE by any means though, and may be a mandatory limitation in some countries. - No sunglasses holder in the roof area - This seems to be common in German cars; I don't know why. - Interior could use more storage space besides the glovebox and center console. - Fragrance canister (pinnacle trim only) takes up a little space inside the glovebox and isn't really something I care about, but if you want the HUD and massaging seats (trust me, if you're already shelling out the cash for a Benz, you want those) you're getting that too. - Adaptive cruise control and other automated driving features require the Driver Assist Plus package, which is a little annoying since those features come standard in many other cars that cost 1/3 the price of a Mercedes. This is another thing that seems to be common with German cars; BMW does the same. Conclusion: Expensive? Yes. Worth every penny? Yes, and then some. Specific model: 2024 GLE 450 4Matic, pinnacle trim, warmth and comfort package, driver assist plus package, AMG line exterior with 21" multi-spoke wheels.

64 mile range, luxurious, beginning to disappoint

This is an edited review after initially 5 star. Going into sixth week and some problems are beginning to make the ownership experience somewhat regrettable. On the plus side it’s luxurious with a great ride and I’m getting 64 miles per charge which is great, it’s like an EV with unlimited range. However, one of the features I was looking forward to benefiting from, augmented reality navigation, can’t be used in practice because it’s virtually impossible to search for a destination in the first place, so it’s back to CarPlay. And a terrible rattle has developed in the sun roof. The level 2 charger that came with the car has also developed problems. I’m souring on this collection of “features” that seem poorly tested and thrown together to check boxes on a feature list. Will update if anything changes for better or worse.

I am disappointed. First time purchasing a brand new Mercedes car, and it's quality was very unsatisfactory. First, two door covers were not properly fitted into the door where was a gap between the door and the plastic frame. (fixed) There were also multiple scratches on the exterior of the car (fixed). On the driver side the handle leather was peeling. The brakes keep on making a thumping noise and the sales mangers told us that all of the new Mercedes GLES brakes make this sound. I don't feel very good with this really loud noise. I also finally got my second key today after waiting a week. I am not sure if this is a big deal but it seems like the dealership took another cars key and reprogrammed it to my car (they didn't dispose of the original tag Which says GLE 350 GREEN) my car is red. Now we are waiting on scheduling an appointment for leather works and brakes check but it taking forever. They don't answer our calls and we always have to come physically to the dealership to get any kind of update. Todays update was wait for the call. I don't have time to be going to the dealership every day to ask for an appointment to get my new car fixed. Overall, I am very sad that my dream car came out like this, I have always believed that Mercedes had the best quality in luxury vehicles, but now I really don't think so anymore.

Stay away from the hybrid!

If you are reading this I encourage you to really research the electrical issues with this car. There is a recall for a brake issue on a small number of cars and yes, that does happen so no big deal. As we are now learning through experience however this car has numerous other software issues. As soon as the weather got cold and damp issues started and the dealer is now “in contact with Germany” about them. They let slip they have another in the shop that has been there 11 months (that’s a patient customer!) with similar issues. Overall the car is solid construction wise and rides beautifully. The issues with soft brakes and “performance extremely limited” and turtle light and check engine lights however is frustrating. We bought it on faith and good experiences with the last two leases. This car appears half baked and not ready for prime time. Please note that our loaner Gas based GLE is very nice. I think this is a hybrid only issue.

Good overall but a Mercedes should be better

I have had mine for 6 months. It is nice looking, pretty comfortable, fairly quiet, interior pretty nice, mileage not bad, performance ok but wish a little more torque and power, awd is good to have, wish it came with running boards, and it drove well in a rain storm so I was able to navigate it safely. Some disappointments include the nonintuitive interface and the laughably pathetic voice command integration (and compared to basic available AI assistants on the market, I believe this system would get laughed out of the park it is that pathetic; also, I had a Mercedes about 10 plus years ago I think was better in this respect than this new Mercedes), the trunk opens and closes unintentionally on me sometimes which imo is worthy of a safety recall, and in my experience with the dealership I had pickup service which I appreciated but the service was otherwise unacceptable imo in customer service standards such that I didn’t get my car back the same day I had a morning appt because they never got around to looking at it and I felt I had to continually ask for updates with a sensation that felt like pulling teeth. Overall a nice SUV but an expensive one. For the money and for being a Mercedes especially, it and the service should be better. For the lack of a little bit more power, no sunglass holder and no running boards I knock it down to 4 stars. For the trunk issue, service and imo a nonintuitive and joke of an integrated interface I have to sadly knock it down to a three. It’s nice but given the price it needs improvement to earn a 4 or more.

First, I am a long time Mercedes owner and have owned all the major classes but not the smaller ones. I speak from my experiences only. I drove the GLE 450e first then the GLE 350 and settled on the GLE350. I didn't think dragging the extra weight around and loss of under deck storage and spare tire was worth it. Have a flat in the mountains and you will wish you had that spare! Plus I can tow 7700 pounds with the hitch installed. I bought it fully loaded as I wanted the advance safety features as well as comfort features. The leather seats are really comfortable and I love the massage feature! The air works great and all the controls are easy to access via buttons or just telling the car to turn them on or off. The stereo Burmeister, is really fantastic in surround. The advanced driving system is Level II and makes it safer and easier. It will guide you back intro your lane if you stray, automates speed and distance and knows where intersections are, etc. I feel much safer with this feature. Also the Parktronic will ease you into a tight parking spot with no trouble. What really impresses me Is the new MBUX system and its integration with Apple iPhone. You run them both simultaneously and it knows which one to respond to at any time. In addition my partner has a profile and his iPhone is integrated at the same time. Incredibly impressed. Plus I love the new Navigation Mercedes uses. Absolutely accurate down to the parking lots and I now use it instead of Apple Nav. It is not often after as many Mercedes as I have had to be surprised in a most pleasant way but I am. The only down side is the gas mileage which is only helped by careful driving and E mode. You can roll the highway at 28mpg under good circumstances but in town 20 is the best I get. I'll take the trade for the comfort and ride height and cargo capability for now.

Quibbling about perfection

Pinellas Pete, 10/08/2023

I've had my GLE 450e for a month now, and its powertrain, transmission, interior (including the a/c system) are perfect: smooth and intuitive. I'd give it 5 stars, except for these quibbles: MB gave NO storage alternatives in the way-back when they filled up the rear with the PHEV battery -- it needs some cubbies and bag hooks; now, the tire-repair kit and portable charger just slide around with nowhere to go (even some Velcro tabs would help). Next, the purse/bag hook in the passenger footwell is missing-in-action. Next, the SUV is pretty high and, IF it does not come from the factory with the $600 running boards (which look very nice), there is no factory kit for dealer installation; my dealer quoted $5,000 to install post delivery, and strongly recommended against it (as if!). Finally (short list, eh?), exterior styling has some bogus fake elements that could easily have been made functional: the exhaust ports and the rear-end brake vents are totally fake; the front brake vents occupy about 1/10th of the allotted space but that space does not accommodate fog lamps or any other functional use. That said, I am very satisfied with the 2024 GLE 450e.

Annoying clunk from rear camera

We liked the car at first, but shortly noticed a clunking noise in the rear at low speeds. We thought it was something the dealership left in the cargo area. Come to find out it’s the camera extending and retracting by itself around 18mph. Turns out the dealer knows about this and MB isn’t doing anything, stating it’s by design, and other BS about it being a safety feature. We are on electric most of the time, and with just a short 10 mile trip around town, it will trigger this thing 20 times: out at a stop light, in after acceleration, out at slow down, etc. once you hear it you cannot unhear it. I sent it back to dealer, and was told they know it’s an issue, but won’t do anything until they hear from MB. I emailed MB and was responded with a canned reply about this being a “safety feature”. I’ve been on several MB forums and this began with the 2024 years and continues with 2025 models. I’ll probably trade it in for a BMW X5. We deserve better for a $70k “luxury” vehicle.

Beautiful machine otherwise but makes intrusive clunk sound from rear at 15 mph when slowing down or stopping. Thought to be backup camera cover closing or opening. Dealer says “they all do that”

2025 GLE 350 Perfect….BUT

My BUT is a very big but. This is shockingly uncovered by Edmunds, Car and Driver and the like is a major design flaw in the rear camera. Everytime you slow below 15 mph the rear camera extends with a clunk. Mercedes says it is audibly designed that way so the driver knows it’s working. It’s so loud that you hear it constantly during stop and go traffic as you slow every time below 15 mph. It’s particularly embarrassing when you have friends in the backseat because they think something is wrong; AND IT IS! It sounds like a swipe of the rear wiper blade on a dry rear windshield. I’m shocked that it’s not revealed in magazine reviews by tech writers. All the Mercedes owner forums detail this design flaw. While Mercedes says it’s normal, I say bull. This is not what you would expect from German engineering.

GLE 450e just okay

While the car looks great and offers some impressive features like the plug-in hybrid system with good electric range and effective traffic cruise control, there are several areas that seem disappointing. Pros: 1. Aesthetic and Design: The car looks stunning, and I appreciate the overall design. 2. Plug-in Hybrid Efficiency: The ability to get 55 miles per full charge is a significant plus. 3. Traffic Cruise Control: This feature works well and adds to the driving experience. 4. Interior design and room is great for passengers Cons: 1. Seat Ventilation System: It seems like a major letdown compared to your previous GLC 300. It does nothing 2. Engine Noise: Despite the quiet package, the engine noise when it turns on is unexpectedly loud. 3. Performance: The car is underpowered for its weight. 4. Technological Issues: Hand gestures don’t work properly, and the self-parking feature is unreliable. 5. Build Quality: A rattle in the luggage area and other quality concerns make the car feel less premium. 6. Customer Service: The dealership’s response to my concerns about the engine noise was unsatisfactory. 7. Storage: There is NO STORAGE in the car... Nothing... I give it a 3.5 and am strongly looking at other makes and might take the loss to move to a better designed and made vehicle

2024 GLE 450 Luxury Features Don't Work

I bought my first Benz SUV and totally disappointed with the reliability. Since the first week of owning the vehicle, I am not able to use the Seat memory positioning either via the key on the door or the personal code via the screen. The alerts for reverse direction does not work. As of yesterday 12/17/24, I was told that it is a known problem as per Mercedes and they do not have a ETA to fix. For the past five months since buying the vehicle, I was not able to use these features and it is frustrating. Don't buy this vehicle. I do not want to give even one start but that is the minimum I can.

I recently purchased a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE 350, custom-ordered. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from what I expected from a luxury vehicle. Upon delivery, I immediately noticed loose ends on the left side of the trunk and the right-side wing, which is concerning for a brand-new car. Additionally, when driving on the highway, there’s a noticeable noise from the air, indicating poor insulation or design flaws. The overall quality of the car feels far below the high standards I anticipated from Mercedes-Benz, with materials and craftsmanship that do not align with the brand’s reputation. This has been the worst decision I’ve made, and I regret choosing this vehicle. I expected much more from Mercedes-Benz, and this entire experience has left me deeply disappointed. I also have videos of the issues and would be happy to provide them.

Rear Camera Excessive Noise

We bought the 2025 GLE 350 and the SUV overall is nice but the scraping/clunk noise the rear camera makes when it extends each time you slow below 16 mph is excessive. Mercedes says it’s normal as they ALL do that. I should have been more aware when we test drove it. Ruins the whole ownership experience. I can’t believe Edmunds doesn’t mention it in its review.

I have had my GLE450 for about 6 months now. Overall performance and comfort are excellent. I also have not had any problems except for an extremely annoying noise. The noise is the rear view camera door constantly opening whenever my speed drops below 20 mph and then closing when I exceed 20 mph. It is very noticeable and in stop and go traffic drives me crazy. When I spoke to the dealer about this they said that is how it was designed to operate with the 360 degree camera option and it is not a fault that can be fixed. They said that in MB sedans this also takes place but it is much less audible because of the trunk space between the camera and the cabin. In a SUV this space does not exist. I can’t see myself living with this noise long term. There may be a BMW X5 in my future.

Regretting my decision!!!

I so wish I could give it back! I entered into a lease in August 2024 and have slowly come to regret my choice in selecting this vehicle. The issues along with subpar service responses have soured my experience. My car wouldn’t start and had to be towed from my garage to the dealer. Once there, what was thought to be a quick battery issue requiring replacement and same day service has turned into getting a loaner because now the mechanics onboard aren’t sure what’s wrong and the dealer has limited qualified mechanics and they’re not sure when they’ll get to it with the holiday. I just had my A service earlier this month and was told everything was fine. The screen randomly while I’m driving. Also, I learned the hard way that the tires are Runflat. They can’t be patched and must be replaced. So, there was a screw in the rear passenger tire. Went to Firestone and the tire expert explained the Runflat situation, then informed me that the tires were too worn out and needed replacing anyway. I said that’s impossible, I’ve only had it just under a year and it has only 9000 miles. So he brought out someone else who said the same. I went to two other places and they all agreed. I brought it in for a replacement and mentioned what was told to me and it was brushed off. They replaced the tire, gave me the keys. When I started driving away, another tire alert. The rear driver tire had a bolt. They wanted to charge me $530 for another tire. I hadn’t driven five feet and was still under their covered service area. The bolt clearly came from their service area and how come they didn’t see the alert that the tire was at 11psi? I’m so annoyed. To add to it, there aren’t many place around here that aren’t Tesla chargers. So over it! The car is so loud when not in EV!!!

7months and 6000 miles

The plug in hybrid experience has been interesting. Love the quiet start. Then with a flip of a switch I can have the gas engine on standby in case full power required. Been to 2 charging stations. Go from 15% (5 mile range) to 100% (54 mile range) in 25 minutes. Looking forward to trying overnight trickle charging in my garage. Haven’t used any gas in first 100 miles and charging stations were about $25. Online or PDF hyperlinked owners manual has >1000 pages, indicating sophisticated electronics. Can be quite distracting for the driver, though I look forward to a busy railroad crossing to learn and use. I leased my vehicle as MB is giving the max rebate ($7500). This was my 1st time leasing, and I recommend Edmunds write up of pros and cons of leasing. Also did a “single payment lease” and purchased maintenance coverage. Looking forward to my 2 years with a plug in hybrid MB. Update- Returned from road trip to south FL. Highway driving mostly gas powered. Electric driving around town very nice. Very comfortable road trip. Pleasure to drive. No problems. BUT, The 450e rides very high. My wife needed a small step stool to enter easily. The running board appears mostly cosmetic as it’s quite narrow. I hope MB will put this hybrid engine in the station wagon. I would definitely try it.

Vehicle rides great, love the plug in hybrid option but it’s been in and out of the shop with under 4000k due to “poor performance.” A ticket was created with Mercedes and the parts will not be available for months.. I was told it was still safe to drive but then completely broke down after being in the shop for the last month. I love my car but I wish I would’ve waited to purchase it until next year.

Quirky car for $90k

I bought my GLE 450e one year and 25,000 miles ago. This was my first MB vehicle. I spent $2k on the Driver's Assistance package but shut it off early in my relationship with the car. The tech is intended for reducing driving stress by reading speed limit signs and adapting speed on corners. While driving in heavy, fast traffic, the car abruptly dropped from 70 mph to 40 mph after misreading the interstate speed with a frontage road speed limit. This tech proved wholly unreliable and dangerous. When I had a loaner EQS, that same technology caused the car to rapidly accelerate on a city street after misreading a road sign for a speed limit. The "hands-free" technology is not as advertised. I must touch the steering wheel every 45 seconds to keep the alarm from flashing and the car from automatically slowing down. The driver assistance feature is not ready for prime time. Other less serious issues are how the radio volume changes as the car turns left or right. The car dumped all the washier fluid in my garage on multiple occasions, but the MB technicians could never find a reason why. I traded a 2019 Ram Limited with 100K miles that never gave me a day's concern. I regret trading the truck.

Annoying wind noise from driver, passenger windows, rattling noise in headliner, couldn't drive it on freeway with the wind noise, dealer and Mercedes engineers changed many parts couldn't solve the problem, drove another 3 gles they all have similar or worse wind noise, Mercedes said this Annoying wind noise is normal, and there's no fix at this time I'll have to trade it with something that doesn't have wind noise. I don't recommend buying any gle since all have this problem.

I loved this car when I first saw it, but after owning it for about 2 months it started to have issues. After a call or two to the service department they asked me to bring it in, after 5-6 attempts to fix the problems and 2 months in the shop I finally had enough confidence in the car to just drive it. It is beautiful, I get a lot of compliments. It does not do good in cold/icy weather- and does not handle well is all I’m gonna say. It will hydroplane and also we don’t trust it in the snow and Ice even though it’s all wheel drive. The weather changed here before they completed the repair to the AC that wasn’t working, so I guess I will find out when summer rolls around again if it is really fixed. they wound up having the change my steering wheel to stop the error codes. The customer service is beyond excellent, but the car leaves a lot to be desired. I actually went and leased a toyota that I tend to favor for reliability.

The rear camera opens/closes at ~15-20 MPH, which creates an incredibly annoying and very loud clicking noise. I brought it in for service (1 week after purchasing) and the service manager said "oh, yeah. That is extremely annoying and a well known issue that we can't do anything about".

Very quiet cabin. The surround sound audio is good but the bass is weak even at +10. Acceleration is slow in e-mode, but that’s not surprising. The paddle shifters are handy if you want to get a bit more power going up a hill. Re. Everything else, it’s a Mercedes and the luxury you expect is precisely what you get.

Love the car….but have gotten 2 broken windshields I the first 1500 miles. I have driven cars for 50 years with only one broken windshield. Am wondering if the windshield is not as strong as in past. The chips are low in the windshield and spider out within a day?

Overall, so many great things to say about this vehicle. Great looks interior and exterior, comfortable, excellent rear leg room, great visibility. However, Mercedes has refused to acknowledge a large issue with the rear camera. The camera will open and close every time the vehicle slows down to 15mph. They say it’s “operating as designed”,but it’s extremely annoying. I hate to even complain about this, but we can’t stop hearing this noise. We applied their “fix””, but no noticeable difference in the noise. I highly recommend you listen for this noise before buying and read the forums. This has been extremely frustrating to many, and Mercedes refusing to acknowledge the issue is extremely disappointing. We submitted a formal complaint to Mercedes with 4 months of purchase and they refused to do anything. We love the car in so many ways, but would return the vehicle if we could given the noise. This may not bother you…but don’t purchase until you check this out.

I'm going to have my 2024 AMG 53 for 2 years, and I'm happy, it has power as time goes by, it becomes more comfortable, for the power it has, it saves fuel, I've ridden 470 miles, I have it with the air suspension and I think it's great The entire truck is always level to the ground, I don't give it 5 stars, because in my case the pedestrian and object sensors fail and the car sometimes brakes suddenly indicating that there is an object, I have taken it to the dealer several times and they don't know the answer (it could be a manufacturing or software error that they will correct later) I already know it well and I think that in that electronic part if they improve it they would have not 5 stars out of 10, I put it on off road, the tires are the disability since that is not what they are for. Excellent lighting. It's super comfortable. An Overland version would be missing for off road lovers.

My lease started on September 9th. The next day while driving "Super" luxury crap, I started to feel the transmission not shifting the way it supposes. Contacted the dealer, and the answer was that I have to drive that car for at least 1000 mi because the smart transmission is learning my driving. What a messy thing. OK, I drove the car for 1000 mi and nothing happened even worse. Return to the dealer, and they said that I needed an update for transmission. OK, done that. After a while, the same thing happened, plus it is not accelerating when needed. You can hear a loud noise from the engine, but nothing else. Plus, when the traffic light turns green and you change your foot from the brake pedal, the car rolls backward. Guess what the dealer said? Right, it is normal for MBenz. Also, you always hear the noise from the back of your car when you start driving or making an almost full stop, the feeling like something in your trunk is moving and making noise, but NO, again it is normal for that crap. I am exhausted from that cat. I was supposed to enjoy driving MBenz, but NO. And there are a lot of different annoying things. Now will try to make as many as possible complaints everywhere. Maybe my review will help people who planning to buy MBenz GLE 350. The two stars only for the look of the car! Thanks!

I was comparing X5, Cayene, Q7 with GLE, and Mercedes are by far more confortable and luxurious, the ride are smoth comparing to other car, x5 and cayenne are more sport driving car faster acceleration and handling but who really need sport feom such a car ?? need sport go with M3, Audi somewhere in the middle. 50-55 miles on electric its enough to drive all day around town. Its not the best car but for familly i thing its number 1.

Two months into my 2024 GLE 63s and love it more with each drive. Still haven't used the sport plus mode and at 1350 miles so far it begs me to drive hard. I needed that cross between performance and hauling with a decent price considering. Exhaust note is heaven with the crackle. Comfort is superior and haven't leave utiized all the functions yet.

GLE350 is a good compromise for the average driver. It had several minor issues when delivered that have been corrected by the dealer. The elephant in the room is the rear camera noise. It is obtrusive. Make sure you take a drive with the radio off and listen for the camera clunk in the back. I understand some aren’t making the noise. MB says this is normal. If it isn’t corrected go elsewhere. I like MB as this is my third E class and it feels familiar but would not recommend the car until the camera issues are fixed.

Overall, Nice car with impressive electric range and fast charging. Faced two isses a. Windshield quality is not good. b. Have noticed rust at the bottom of the car. Have seen other similar models & wondering if it due to some kind of battery discharge.

This is the perfect car for me. Easy in and out and loading. Great visibility and the safety features are superb. I have Drivers Assistance Pkg and it makes highway driving easy and smooth with auto distance and lane change assist. I loaded it up and the stereo is awesome. The HUD is a great help don’t need to look down. It has plenty of punch at highway and town speeds. Gas mileage normal for a heavy SUV. Trailer towing up to 7700 pounds is impressive. Fit and finish tight and solid. Interior much nicer than X5. AMG package makes great look and handling. The MBUX 3 is really amazing. Knows who is in the car and integrates both phones easily. It understands most of what I say. You can run Appleplay at the same time. Mercedes navigation is superb and saved me in the mountains via GPS location. I guess you can tell. I’m a fan of this car. I’m so happy I bought it. It looks good. It rides good it handles good it’s safe and it’s fun.

Bought the 2024 450e in twilight blue metallic/macchiato beige interior. 21'wheels, brown walnut trim, DAP, W&C pkg, Winter pkg, Pinnacle trim, pan sunroof, 4 zone climate. The GLE comes with a lot of MBUX tech, takes some getting used to for a first timer. That said, the plug-in is SOOO much smoother and quieter than the gas-only 450 and 350. We've had BMW's for years and needed to replace a larger SUV. Chose between this and the X5. Both were great for different reasons, but the aesthetics drew my wife to the MB. Great ride, super comfortable, no issues after 8 months of ownership. HOWEVER, there is one quirk...the backup camera makes a whirring and clunking noise as if something is rattling around in your trunk. Dealer told us it's a common complaint. It apparently happens because the camera always opens and closes at certain lowspeed mph. The dealer installed the MB sound insulation kit, cautioned me it's not a 100% fix, but it would help. It has, but it's still very noticeable. MB should be more than capable of eliminating this issue. Never had it in any other car we've owned. That said, it's really the only flaw, but it's real and can be annoying.

Bad Experiences with 2025 GLE 350

I took delivery of my new GLE 350 in November 2024. Within a month, the right parking brake mechanism malfunctioned, triggering a warning message on the console. I brought the vehicle to the dealership, and they repaired it under warranty. Nevertheless, I am disappointed that a brand-new car experienced such a failure within the first month of ownership. The more persistent issue, however, involves the key fob. Over five months, the battery died four times, with each lasting approximately one month. For the first two occurrences, I replaced the battery myself. After that, I took the car to the dealership twice. On both occasions, they performed diagnostics on the vehicle and the key fob but found no faults. They merely updated the software, replaced the battery, and returned the car to me. The dealership declined to provide a replacement key fob, citing the absence of an error code. I then contacted Mercedes-Benz Customer Care, which has the authority to approve a warranty replacement for the key fob. However, they stated that four failures were insufficient to warrant a replacement. Instead, they instructed me to return to the dealership repeatedly—with no specified threshold for the number of failures required—before they would consider a replacement. This is particularly frustrating given the inconvenience of a non-functional key fob (though there is a workaround to unlock the doors and start the car without the battery). Overall, I am dissatisfied with the quality of the vehicle (given the parking brake malfunction and recurring key fob issues) and with the Customer Care team’s approach, which does not prioritize customer experience. This stands in stark contrast to the service standards of customer-centric companies like Amazon.
