My Bordeaux Red CLK 430 '99

I have only rave reviews for my 430CLK. It has been driven in every situation, has saved me twice from accidents (esp and brake assist) and is now what I would consider therapy. I have only replaced an oxygen sensor early. The only problem that I have encountered is/are the slow and will not close above 85 mph moonroof. It seems (yes, it was replaced once) that the motor for this piece is weak, even my honda civic at 100 mph will close it's moonroof. But this is just a minor inconvenience. The car is beautiful, elegant, swift and safe. I will keep it until it is very very very tired and worn out.

The car is near perfect for the real world. Fast, comfortable, great looking, safe. Car has had zero defects and is 100% reliable. Get a set of snow tires in winter regions...The best car I have owned...and I have owned some great names.

This is an outstanding vehicle. I have owned many mercedez and none have compared to it. This car is sexy, sleek and scary fast. My husband is an engineer and he says it is truly an engineering marvel - I just love the ride. I have two small children so I opted for the coupe - they have plenty of space and the car seat which disables the front airbag is priceless. Enjoy!!

In a nutshell, this car's very attractive, but a real lemon. I've taken it in to the dealership 8 times in a little over a year. Engine was torn down and rebuilt, amongst other obnoxious and ridiculous episodes. MD- DC dealership and MBUSA have completely turned a blind eye to me and I am considering legal action.

MB should not have redesigned it

I purchased this car new and still have it after almost 9 years. I was driving a Dodge Avenger back in 1998 and saw this car on the road. The next day I was at MB dealership and ordered one with every possible option except for ski sack. The 3.2L engine is more than I need but it accelerates smoothly without any delays or gaps until you go above 60. The car is still the best looking vehicle on the road. Too bad MB had to redesign the look of it, I would have bought another one again. Now, I am keeping it. I've had mostly electrical problems including failed front computer twice and blown bulbs here and there but nothing major. Sometimes the car fails to start on first crank in any weather.
