Used 1994 Mazda Protege Consumer Reviews
Hard to Beat
I bought this car new in late '94. Has 5 sp and dual cam engine. Very spunky and generally fun to drive, even now with 106K. Air cond. had to be replaced this year---quite expensive. Both axles been replaced. Other than that, just brakes, tires and oil changes. Never has used a drop of oil between changes. A Great Car!!
What I think...
The Mazda Protege is a great car. I bought mines used and I love it! It;s fun to drive, great on fuel! It's very comfortable also! I would recommend this car to anyone but especially teenagers out there who are buying their first car. It's really worth it. -Punjabi Balla!
Love it
I drove this car off the show room floor 14 years ago brand new. My first new car and I am very sad to part with it. It is very good on gas, and original AC still works, some rust and regular repairs, nothing major. It is fun to drive and a very comfortable ride. I have enjoyed it very much.
The BEST Purchase!!!
I bought this car right off the lot BRAND NEW in Oct. of 1994. I am STILL driving it today with almost 300,000 miles on it!!! I haven't had a lot of repair work on it throughout most of it's life, mostly exhaust and regular maintenance until 3 years ago when the engine started to go. I love this car so much I had the engine rebuilt and brought it out to Los Angeles with me when I moved. I can't believe I am approaching 300,000 miles very soon! When it comes time to finally break down and buy a new car, TRUST ME, I WILL buy the same thing!!! The best and most reliable car in the world.
Loved my Protege right to the end
I got a great deal when I bought my '94 DX. It really took some abuse as it was my pizza delivery car and personal speed machine for 2 1/2 years. Pros aren't fast, but the chassis, suspension, and low weight make for fun driving. Interior space and trunk room was voluminous for it's size. If I packed it right, I could fit over 60 XL pizzas in it! All this at 40 mpg on the highway. Last, but not least is safety. I learned this the hard way, I hit a Mustang at 40 mph and it crushed the front of my poor car, but my friend and I got out with only sore necks. I'd buy one again in a second after the experience I've had with mine.
